CookBrite for Android
You read that right. CookBrite serves up recipes you can make with no shopping required!
Simply take a picture of your grocery receipt. CookBrite automatically updates your HomeList with the purchases on that receipt. Like magic, the next time you request recipes, the “Have It” carousel suggests recipes using ingredients in your HomeList.
And, if you don’t mind a little shopping, let CookBrite’s Think, Shop, Receipt, Cook cycle. The app knows what you Have in your home and what you Need to purchase to cook the meals you create. Save money and reduce your household’s food waste. Good for your budget and the planet!
Here’s how it works.
Think.
First, decide what you’re in the mood to eat. Healthy, Comfort, Spicy?
Next, choose the ingredients you want to use in your meal. Chicken, spinach, chocolate? We’ll suggest Mains, Sides, Appetizers, Salads and Desserts based on your chosen criteria.
A chicken dish with a side of leafy greens and chocolate dessert? We’ve got it in our recipe database, curated by our team of super-foodies.
Want a recipe using ingredients you already have in your pantry and fridge? We’ll hook you up. You read that right.
CookBrite knows what you Have in your home and what you Need to purchase to create today’s dinner plan! Not just for one recipe, but for the whole meal. Because we help you keep track of your food and non-food items. Organized simplicity in the kitchen.
After you create a meal plan, CookBrite generates a ShopList, telling you what you need to purchase for each recipe in your meal plan. Which saves you money and keeps you on budget. No more buying too much and wasting food you don’t use.
Shop.
Once done shopping for tonight’s dinner (or not, if you’ve chosen recipes using ingredients you already have), take a picture of the grocery receipt on your phone.
CookBrite automatically adds those items to your HomeList, keeping a tab on what you’ve added to your pantry and fridge. So the next time you use the App to create a new meal plan, it knows what you Have and what you Need.
Cook.
Time to cook! CookBrite walks you through the recipes one by one with clear instructions on how to make each of your dishes. And voilà! You’re a hero to your family and friends. Click “Cooked it” once you’ve cooked the recipes.
Repeat.
Next time you go to the grocery store, scan another receipt to keep track of your household items. Then create another fabulous dinner plan for those you love.

Used this app before and loved it. Looking to do some new meal ideas for my family. As I scroll the recipes, it keeps crashing and throwing me back to the main page. Really disappointed.
The only meat I put in was ground beef and shrimp. It gave me recipes for chicken, calamari and tuna.
I recently downloaded the app and was placed on a waiting list. It tells me to wait for an email and I have not received anything. I've never heard of an app having a waiting list before..
I can't believe a service such as this is free. Such a time/life saver.
Wish it would have an option to tell me what recipes I can make with only what I have. But otherwise it's very detailed and helpful.
I've used this app before and loved it. I got a new phone and forgot my log in information and there's no option for "forgot password". It won't let me use a different email to create a new account.
Every time I push "think", it tells me an unexpected error has occurred. I've tried refining my search multiple times to help it along, but it says the same thing. This app seems like it could be really great - if it worked.
Great for planning, picking meals but recommend that the shopping list goes by what meal or meals you pick instead of showing what you need for all meals. Example, if you have five weeks worth of meal plans saved the list shows what you need for all not just one week, day etc. Would be nice to see what you need just for the week or day/meal you want to make. Also I'd like to be able to switch between categories since it won't let me do that right now (comfort, italian, etc).
To make it easier to add ingredients to your pantry list you should make it to where you can scan a receipt and it adds the goods bought to your list
Been on a waiting list for an email for over 2 weeks. Uninstalling right now.
It made me register and then didn't let me use it afterwards.
Can't even open the ap
I'm having trouble with either A) signing in or B) creating a new account. If I use my password, I'm told it's the wrong password; if I try to create a new account, it directs me to the sign in page with no access!
Is there a way to remove ingredients? Some of the recipes suggest chicken. I hate chicken. Can I put it on a list to not show me recipes that contain chicken? It can be used if say someone was allergic to shell fish they can add shrimp etc. to a list and suggested recipes won't contain shrimp.
It's giving the same recipes no matter what ingredients or mood I set. I put chicken and it's giving me recipes with beef. Uninstalling...had high hopes for this app.
It would be great if you can plan multiple meals per day and add our own recipes, either by OCR or manually. It would also be awesome if it kept track of what you spend and savings for your own personalized price book. I love the barcode scanner idea too. Entering them at the beginning has been very time consuming. It will also not work on my hp slate 21 android tablet. I'm only able to get it on my S3.
Nice app.
Very Helpful On Days When I Don't Know What Cook I Love This App
This is the best cooking app I've ever tried. They really considered every aspect of the cooking process and incorporated them all into their app, making it extremely easy to plan and make several meals. The things I think the app is missing are the ability to add your own recipes and the ability to communicate within the app with other Cookbrite users.
Really good app, just wish they would expand to lunch and breakfast too
Had to make an account? Had to use the back button after selections. Gave up after that....
This is the best cooking app I've ever tried. They really considered every aspect of the cooking process and incorporated then all into their app, making it extremely easy to plan and make several meals. The things I think the app is missing are the ability to add your own recipes and the ability to communicate within the app with other Cookbrite users.
I love this app and how it has helped me plan meals, made a shopping list, and even included the recipe. GREAT!! Now...I would love it if I could add more dishes, main or side. 5 max isn't really enough if I'm trying to cook 3-4 main dishes plus the sides to go with them. Also, when I'm finished with a meal, I want to be able to replace that meal and prepare for the next one...not all the plans. It'll be great if it could be by week too...other than that I do love it!
I really like the idea but a lot of the functionality isn't available, yet. I also wish that it would give nutritional data for the recipes and allow you to search with dietary criteria, this would make it invaluable for a dieter.
Didn't work, I couldn't use it just keep giving me error message and planning today dinner. I couldn't see anything else. Look like a good app I was excite to use, bad luck for me
Seems like it would be a useful app but there's no way to add recipe preferences. I like to cook vegan and although I am able to find vegan recipes, being able to select if you have a special dietary need would be a nice addition.
Opened to the sign in screen and when I put in a pass word to sign up it gave an error and try again later. Uninstalling
It tracks my food supply and has a built in shopping list. The ability to intelligently plan a meal is priceless. The interface and visual design are top notch. Frequent improvements to the app show that the developers are invested in making it more and more amazing. I highly recommend CookBrite to everyone who cooks at home, especially those who are easily overwhelmed by putting a healthy meal together (like me).
It ask what ingredients I wanted to cook with then suggested tons of recipes that didn't include the ingredients I had. I chose shrimp but instead of shrimp recipes I got chicken, lamb, and beef recipes. Bummer....I thought it was to suggest a recipe based on what I already had but just gives me a list of things to buy.
This app is supposed to give you recipes for what you can make based on what you HAVE. The shrimp and oyster recipes look great and all, but I have neither shrimp, nor oysters...and if I did, I wouldn't need this app.
A lot of the recipe pictures don't match the actual recipe. This is disappointing considering most people eat with their eyes first. Also doesn't have a very wide selection of foods to add to your already have list. App is a waste of time and space. Uninstalling.
This app has lots of potential, and would be greatly improved with a barcode scanner so users don't have to manually input all items n pantry initially. That part is time and labor intensive. Otherwise has some good recipes. Echoing other users' requests to see ability to import recipes too. Looking forward to future developments and updates!!
It says it gives you recipes using items you already have so you dont have to stress however what it is doing is giving me recipes that have maybe one or two items i already have but most items will still need to be purchased so thus negating the fact that it should use items i already have.
I like the setup, easy to follow. Like the food choices. Would be better if you could plan future meals and save them.
The turkey burger recipe is very good.
It is handy, but there are only so many recipes and no way to up load more. If I could add my favorite recipes, this app would really be a life saver.

Look forward to them adding the ability to import recipes.
This app could solve a lifetime's problem for me. Great idea, beautiful interface and it's so easy to use. My only issue is that after I added an extensive list of groceries I have at home (including eggs, meat, fish, vegetables, pasta, rice etc. ), I still got recipes that require purchasing additional items. My core problem is figuring out what to cook with only the items I already have and no additional trip to the grocery store. Once this is solved, I'll give the app 5 stars!

The features are so useful, and it's really easy to use. I love the button to switch back and forth from the ingredients to instructions in the recipe. If only there was a way to add your own recipes and to search recipes, it would be perfect. I just can't use it all the time if it doesn't have my old favorites in it.
