suspension in general suspension system is divided into 2, namely:
1. front suspension (front suspension)
2. Rear suspension (Rear suspension)
Or:
~ The suspension system is located between the vehicle body and the wheels, and is designed to absorb shock from the road surface so as to add comfort. The suspension components consist of spring, shock absorber, ball joint, stabilizer bar, strut bar, suspension arm, bumper.
Suspension system is a part of the chasis that serves to absorb the shock from the road so as not distributed to the body, as well as to increase the comfort of driving.
Kinds - Kinds of Suspension Systems
1. Independent Type: Macpherson type
Independent type Trailing arm type
Wishbone type
2. Rigid Suspension: Parallel leaf spring type
Trunnion type 8-
Balance arm type
3. Special suspension: Air suspension
MAIN COMPONENTS OF SUSPENSION
I. PEGAS
The springs are made of steel and serve to absorb shock from the surface of the road and the vibrations of the wheels in order not to the body.
1.Pegas Coil
2. Leaf Off
3.Pegas Torsi Trunks
II. SHOCK ABSORBER
Description: Shock absorber serves to reduce the oscillation (up and down) of the spring when receiving a shock from the road surface.
Ways of working
In a telescopic shock absorber there is a special liquid called an oil shock absorber.
III. BALL JOINT
Description: Ball joint serves to receive vertical and lateral loads, as well as axis of rotation of the wheels when the vehicle turns.
IV. STABILIZER BAR
Description: The stabilizer bar serves to reduce the tilt of the vehicle due to centrifugal force when the vehicle turns. For the front suspension, the stabilizer bar is usually mounted on the two lower arm through rubber pads and linkage. In the center to frame on two places via bushing.
~ How it Works
Generally when the vehicle turns, the outer spring springs expands and the inner spring springs are compressed as the stabilizer bar gets twisted as the other end moves upward and the other down. The stabilizer rod tends to withstand the torsion. reduce body roll and keep the body in a safe slope.
V. STRUT BAR
Description: Strut bar serves to hold the lower arm so as not to move back and forth, while receiving a shock from the road or the impulse due to braking.
VI. BUMPER
Description: Bumper acts as a protective component of the suspension when the spring contracts or expands beyond the maximum limit.
