Chennai, Tamilnadu is a hub for classical music in South India. Carnatic Classical music is a sublime art form supposedly given to humans by Lord Shiva himself. The classical music community in Chennai has preserved and enriched the art form to its current exalted state over several thousands of years. Music, Dance and Drama (Theater) are the three main classical art forms (The total number of arts are 63 as per literature). Dance here pertains only to classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam.
Krishna and Shiva are the twin pillars of Hinduism, the oldest religion in the world. While Shiva is associated with energy and the chakra flow as evinced by Pathanjali and his Yoga, Krishna adds such nuances as love, bhava, sringara, melody, compassion etc. to the mix.
