About Holistic Reflexology
Discover alternative ideas and holistic concepts about pain, disease and sore feet. Your body is not in distress to make your life unpleasant. It is trying to convey a message and draw your attention to something in your life that needs to be addressed. Therefore, if you have the most basic understanding of how the body works and what your organs do, you can often readily parallel that to a metaphysical explanation of your pain and symptom, and often arrive at a possible cause of your problem. Stress, tiredness and no energy are symptoms of other issues in your life needing change. A sore foot isn’t the result of standing too long, new shoes or hard floors, it is bringing a message. Understanding which emotions sit in which part of your foot helps identify what needs to be addressed. Knowing which lifestyle issues sit in which part of your foot also helps to isolate situations needing your notice. Common foot problems are all trying to attract your attention. Blisters, corns, spurs, callouses, plantar warts, hammer toes, plantar fasciitis all have their own unique and special message to give you.
Read real life stories about health issues and body symptoms from a metaphysical perspective. Blog posts show up on the News page, and cover a wide range of topics. When a disease or symptom has been in the family for generations, I have to ask what exactly has been passed down - what is genetic and what is inherited? While each species has a genetic code, that code is influenced by environmental factors. If thought creates, then could the environmental factor affecting the human genes be beliefs, thoughts and behavioural patterns (which are the forerunners to anything that is manifested). Energy and matter are interchangeable. Therefore, if you do not heed the message when it comes in the form of energy, it could change form to matter (mass) to have a greater impact. Tumours can bring a sense of urgency for someone to re-assess their life. What is a tumour? As I think, it is a group of cells that have lost their sense of identity. They are growing in an inappropriate place.
On the app you will find reflexology foot charts for each of the body systems. Reflexology foot charts can be confusing when all the body reflexes are combined into one. I have designed my own charts; one for each body system. The whole body, not just the physical reflexes, are mapped on your feet. Therefore, if the physical liver reflex is tender, it does not necessarily mean there is a liver problem, it could be drawing attention to the emotions of the liver, anger and resentment. Also, understanding where the chakras sit on the foot will draw your attention to the relevant life issues, which could be the beginning of understanding the possible cause of your problem.
You will find photos that show foot relaxation techniques and other ways to work on the foot e.g. to support breathing. While a professional practitioner is the most qualified to carry out a reflexology treatment, family members with a little understanding of the foot, can offer interim support.
On the Forms page, you are invited to ask questions about your pain and discomfort. They will be answered from a metaphysical perspective; looking past the effects, with the intention of discovering a possible cause. Glenda has been a professional reflexology practitioner in Brisbane (Australia) since 1999, and the holistic approach she takes to her work makes her ideas and concepts both interesting and challenging. In 2010 she wrote Holistic Reflexology, the eight principles, which encourages the reader to look at pain and discomfort from an alternative and metaphysical perspective. In 2014 she released Wisdom in Retrospect under the pen name of her grandmother Emma Gilbert, which invites you to glance back with insight to discover wisdom hiding in the shadows. It looks at 64 lessons of life that most of us would have encountered at some time or other.
