About Calendar from Android 4.4

This is the calendar from Android 4.4 which is the last version Google released. Google's current calendar is different - better in most ways but it has stupid horizontal scrolling in the month view.

Had this on my old phone and when I got this one it gave me Google calendar, which is fine, but not good for what I want. So I looked up calendar and got a whole bunch of planners. I literally just wanted something to see the dates of whatever month I want to scroll to. So far this is the only one I have found that will actually let me do that. Had to go back through my old downloads to find it though.

I swear it's like trying to pull teeth in finding a calendar app that isn't stupid. This is is literally the simplest app I've dealt with. Clean interface, easy to use features, quick even scheduling/editing, and has the notification screen I need set as the widget for reminders. Thank you for porting the 4.4 calendar app over. Someone over in the google stores clearly is smoking something if they think their "new" apps are actually worth anything.

T70%
by T####:

Vertical format where days align into previous and following month is so much more logical than Google's horizontal arrangement of months. Hated when Google forced their upgrade on me but glad to find my old app still available. Only complaint with this app is the way colors don't layer but overlap and black each other out.

T70%
by T####:

What's not to like, it looks, feels and works like a simple calendar application should. Would give 5 stars but it crashes when I click on time zone when creating or editing an appointment running on Android 6.0.1. Otherwise, a good basic calendar app.

Had my old Motorola Razr with this calendar for 3 years and got really comfortable with it (and as soon as I upgraded- got the google calendar). So happy this is available! not happy with the google calendar and this familiar thing was a godsend for me. Thank you so much

T70%
by T####:

I was happily using this app (that was installed when I bought my phone) until one day I only had the Google calendar app. Wonder how that happened ( I ask cynically)? So I am installing it again!!! Maybe this time Google will keep its app to itself as this app is soooo much better. I am definitely keeping this one!!!

T70%
by T####:

The new calendar is horrible and trades a simple look for not enough features. I love that I can edit busy/available and privacy after an event has been created, as well as the repeat options here. The new calendar took 2 steps backwards.

T70%
by T####:

Vertical scroll for the month is logical, so you can see the weeks align. Horizontal scroll in current calendar makes no sense. Too bad it won't sync if your stock calendar is disabled (refresh doesn't work).

S70%
by S####:

Why can I no longer delete only one occurence of a repeated calendar event? It's terribly time-consuming to delete the event only to start it all over.

T70%
by T####:

Very small size and fast. With a practical and customizable light/dark widget. However, the month view displays only coloured bars instead of actual events (as text like in Google Calendar app) which makes this view mode useless. Besides, it didn't sync with Google account (under Settings > Accounts > Google > Calendar was missing) before I hadn't installed Google Calendar app (after which Calendar appeared under Settings, I unchecked/rechecked/resynced untill the sync error disappeared, and then I could even uninstall the Google Calendar app).

T70%
by T####:

I like this app a lot with one exception. The app says that my time zone is U.S. Eastern. I am on the West coast. I see the area where this can be changed, but each time I select this option the app crashes.

T70%
by T####:

Only one problem - if you check "use home time zone" you cannot select anything but the default - Eastern.

5.0 android defaulted to Google nearly had heart attack lol. Whew..

K70%
by K####:

I like it although mine is a different version, ( green colour) Just wish it had a fortnightly option for repetition. Very simple to use.

Verizon says I needed to update my software on my Droid Turbo phone but fails to mention I am going to lose some apps and have them replaced with cumbersome unuser-friendly ones such as Google Calendar. Using the Droid version is so easy. One screen tap some quick details about event and add reminder and your done. Google takes about 4 different screens and they want to access your contacts, Google maps and basically track your every move. Creepy. Thank God I found this!

L70%
by L####:

Thanks. At least I have one app fixed that lollipoop broke. Allows me to see a weekly view again. And it allows you to stretch the view which lollipoop removed. And I can scroll up and down without it moving me sideways all the time.

T70%
by T####:

Such a small thing but I like to see my schedule week by week when I hold my phone upright....not just 5 days at a time.

T70%
by T####:

Easy to find. No confusion of finding dates. But holidays of 2017 are not showing in my lenovo K5, but the same is showing in micromax phone. Don't know the reason.

T70%
by T####:

Thank you thank you thank you. This is exactly what I've been looking for since Google ruined their calendar with the new version.

T70%
by T####:

Not bad BUT can not find a way to delete events. That would be nice Bad app don't get it they want money

C70%
by C####:

The only issue probably is that I wish there was a way to change the event status to show me as "Available" by default since it should work in tandem with Smart Actions/Do Not Disturb. Other than that, this still beats out its successor stock Google calendar app by far!

W70%
by W####:

Once Android updated and online apks I'd used before stopped working, this was great, but the last week or so it simply will Not sync with Google (previous commenter this is why your events are messed up) which won't work long term, if anything goes wrong with my phone. Please find a fix or update if Google isn't screwing you over on providing a service they f'ed up!

X70%
by X####:

Why does none of these things let you delete all the old events at once???? It's either delete everything from that point to the future, which I still need or delete each event individually. Just bad, waste of time

U70%
by U####:

Simple, syncs with the other calendars, default monthly view, easy to use. No extra BS, adds, or pop-ups. Please don't change. Everyone need one Calendar apk, that's simple to use with all the options available. Thanks

E70%
by E####:

Thanks so much for allowing me to get the old calendar back. You have no idea how much I missed it!

K70%
by K####:

at least a decent calendar app without nonsense and ads etc. fu*k yeah, thanks :)

U70%
by U####:

Google Calendar updated and I didn't like the layout. This one still has month view and is similar to.the old Google Calendar and syncs exactly the same! I am glad I found this! Please don't change this format ever.

U70%
by U####:

**update - event pop ups keep reappearing constantly when you try to silence them by tapping "back" or on side of screen, so it won't keep the event in the notification bar because my only option is to press 'dismiss all' and if I'm.busy I won't remember to go back and check the events cos they're not shown in notification area ** Won't allow me to select the correct time zone option and crashes when i try!

H70%
by H####:

....and not too much. It is the "kiss" approach. If you are wondering "kiss" is acronym for keep it simple stupid. I think you deserve a few more thank you's.

U70%
by U####:

Works Great!! Don't know why Google put in Google Calendar. Can't delete it but I wish I could. So now I have two calendars. They say I have no choice because it's part of the program. Worst calendar ever seen!!!

A70%
by A####:

This only known Cal to me, to offer adjustable intervals ie 1, 2, 3, ~ of days/weeks/months. Appreciable!

L70%
by L####:

It is an improvement on the new one for the purpose of editing any events. I wanted the more grid-like view which the older calendar app had. We can't zoom horizontally in this one like we could before.

U70%
by U####:

I installed this app just to get back my old calendar. Please do not make any further updates/ improvements/ changes. I don't like Google apps now because of frequent changes and updates. They are inbuilt apps in my device- NEXUS 5

U70%
by U####:

The calendar freezes with a message "Loading ..." when you try to add an event.

U70%
by U####:

Coloured bars show not only from which calendar is this event, but also visually shows when it's happening and how long does it takes. Perfect!

U70%
by U####:

Simple clean design that does the job. Can't understand why Google dropped it for Lollipop.

U70%
by U####:

Not bad BUT can not find a way to delete events. That would be nice

U70%
by U####:

Crashes when trying to change time zone within app. Doesn't always notify you of appointments even when clearly set. So don't rely on this app

U70%
by U####:

Omg I'm so glad y'all have this out there for download! I hate the newer versions!!!

O70%
by O####:

Why can't I change the notification sound to what I want? Why does it have to be my default notification sound and even tho it lets me change it but it goes right back to the default. Annoying.
