TetherGPS Lite for Android
I want buy pro version. But not ready for my Garmin Asus A50. Help me
as possible need more strong connection...for more fun and can get more download
Several attempts ending in massive failure. Crashing and failure to connect.
Closes on lollipop
Works great with my MT4G and Nook Color, thx! Read description people... Need root and wifi tether for it to work.
I've been looking all over for a bluetooth GPS reciever to use with my Viewsonic gTablet. This app allows me to use my EVO 4g as a GPS server and it works flawlessly! I put the paid version on the phone and the lite version on the tablet. Excellent work.
I'm running Nookie Froyo off an SD card in order to keep the stock OS. I've tested this and it doesn't run off the SD card. Without SD support it's useless.
Working like a charm on Kindle Fire after visiting XDA to find out how to allow mock locations.
would be nice to have this work with other devices not just android but windows 7 laptop would be great.
Crap. Doesnt tell you how to work it & it is never able to find the server
How can you enable gps locations on a device without gps? Like my archos 101
I can't seem to get the lite version to work while the Nook Color is tethered using android wifi tether. Both devices are rooted.
How do u use this with another phone? I need help
Receiving location but street view force close,,,nook color 2.2 n Htc evo
Love it! Bonus points if tethering over Bluetooth is added.
Looping Force close on a G2
It's a cool idea, but it's useless to those like me without android tabs or nooks. Compatibility for laptops would be awesome.
Initial connection took awhile, but PERFECT now! Rooted Galaxy S & G-Tab
I would love to be able to tether to my iPad. Can this be ported to iOS (even through Cydia)?
Thank you for fixing fc issue on g tablet
Works fine linking Archos 101 and Samsung Captivate. Previous version had FC on the Archos but good now. Will be doing further evaluation.
Works
Worked just like described. Optimus s and nook color.
Was force closing at first. After I entered the IP address in the server it started working. Get the IP from your client device after you are tethered. Go to settings and tap on your connection. Make sure GPS is getting a location on server (icon stops blinking) before starting client.
I'm using a ZTE Blade and an unknown WM 8650 tablet (blue LED). If I start the server on the blade without it connected to a wireless network e.g. acting as a hotspot, I get the force close issue. The tablet doesn't have hotspot capability. My solution is to use a third device (Windows phone) as the hotspot, connect both devices to that, start the server on the Blade and the client on the tablet and away we go. Not quite as ridiculous as it sounds as the WP is my main device (with the data contract) and I can leave the other two in the car. I would buy a decent phone / tablet but the ZTE and the tablet were both cast offs so cost me nothing. Seems to work pretty well (GMaps and MM Tracker, pity they didn't explain the limitation.
App stops working immediately on launch. Tried several times and even un- and re-installed....same thing.
Does not work with WiFi tether
Galaxy S and G-Tablet - perfect for sharing GPS with G-Tablet. Only quirk on Android 4 is that it won't find proper Broadcast Address for server side - need to enter G-Tab's IP address in manually to get it to work. Works fine using gingerbread phone as server though.
No directions, can't make it work. Must be first geeks
Works as intended
While the networked version seems to work (too short of server time to troubleshoot), while tethered to tablet from a Droid 2, it does not work. The Droid server starts with foxfi running and the client is running on tablet but they do not connect before time runs out. Nice idea though.
For those having FC problems on ICS based OS. For some reason the app fails to retrieve the IP adress leading to crash. A nice workaround is manually entering the "client" IP address on the "server" "broadcast IP" (switch off "automatic broadcast IP). You can see the "client" IP by entering to you tablet WIFI settings and tapping on the actual connection (the tethered one). I would give this app 5 stars, but I sent the developer an email regarding this issue and he never answered. Too bad!
Galaxy nexus or Asus prime still fc after recent update
Does not work as sever on galaxy nexus.
Starting server on GNex produces error: "Unfortunately, TetherGPS Lite has stopped".
Does not work as server on Galaxy Nexus
Never broadcasts ip even though it shows ip in notification setting
Tried loads from market but this is only one that works on my HTC desire hd with hannspree haanspad 10 inch tablet. Just off to buy full version
Works well between HTC desire and Kindle with CM7. Took me a while to work out how to use it and I'm a developer! Think it must be very tough for "ordinary" users. Main issue was the need to switch my phone over to wifi hotspot mode. (I know it should have been obvious!)

When I use to start server , it shows "unfortunately, tethergps lite has stopped"
