Ambi-Turner (Ambient Display)

Whenever my finger touches any part of my phones screen after ambient turns on the whole thing lights up. Optimally I'd want my phone not to react unless I touched a notification directly. Also broken for Oreo

This app worked beautifully with Android Nougat. Since the update to Android O though the app has not functioned properly. Would like give this app the five stars it deserves, but until it works for Android O, it is no longer a five star app.

This was an outstanding app until Oreo update. Doesn't work anymore and developer who has previously been very responsive hasn't provided any info on updates. Will be a 5 again if fixed.

Previously great app that made up for some of the shortfalls of the ambient display. Very prompt responses from the creator in the past. Unfortunately, since the upgrade to Oreo, this app no longer seems to work. Also the notification that shows the app running are constantly appearing with no means to disable them. Since there seems to be no updates or responses from the creator, I am uninstalling it.

Broken due to Android 8.0 update. Please fix soon as it is loads better than the ambient display baked into Oreo. Will update my review when fixed. Thank you!

Doesn't work properly, developer replies to XDA forum only to posts that he/she apparently likes, 2$ wasted. Wish I took 2$ and burnt them, at least it would be fun to watch.

Does not work at all on Oreo. Description says Custom works but can't get that to do anything either. Paid for this app. Will give back stars when fixed.

Was great, when it used to work. Broken since Pixel Oreo update.

Was fantastic, but the Oreo update has rendered it non-functional. Would love to see it back in action.

Great app but Android O killed it somehow. Hopefully it won't be too long before its running again.

Worked great on my pixel xl prior to the Android O update. Does not work after the update. Will revise rating when fixed.

doesn't work

Even after update wave to wake doesn't activate for my pixel XL. It only works for the custom display, not the stock

I use this app as replacement for the missing CM's Ambient Display gestures features. It's work great and not drain my battery as hell. Bad things, the latest features (custom ambient display), is doesn't work in my devices (ASUS Z00T running at 7.1.2 RR)

Worked reasonably well for the first few days on my pixel but now I get no waking from the proximity sensor at all. Also, I've never seen the notifications pulse or even display at all for that matter. I've even tried the experimental settings. It shouldn't be this hard to replicate moto display functionality to some degree, but every app I try falls short or flat on it's face. Update for latest version: Still doesn't do anything.

Stock ambient display is still in use after enabling custom ambient display.

Was a great app until recently. Having massive battery drains, and the ambituner icon pops up in the notifications sporadically and slows my phone to a halt. Sometimes causes a reboot. Willing to trouble shoot if necessary because it was working perfectly for me for months until the past few weeks. Edit: Appears to be fixed and haven't had any issues so far. Working perfectly

Nexus 6p. Seems to add nothing over stock functionality. Lift and tilt flat out don't work and haven't since app was released on Reddit.

Not good, totally locked up my pixel XL and had to reboot. Never ever had to do that before.

I simply love the idea of this app, but unfortunately it doesn't work on my OnePlus 3T. I'm currently running Open Beta 8, but it also didn't work when I was running the stable build. I hope there's something you can do, and let me know if I can help with anything!

This app is useless, it adds no additional functionality in the free version, you have to buy the pro version to get the additional features (I'm not saying that this is bad, but why even have a free version in the first place if you're not going to offer anything with it).

Apparently the pro version is 99p, but I see no option to pay that much. Hoping the Dev can reply to this!

Um... I actually don't use this app since I have a Moto Z Play (which I'm loving as much as my previous Moto X). But I just love that Ambi-Turner is happening, bringing the bliss of ambient display to all phones! So here's "free" five stars for making the world a better place. (Might make me consider the Pixel someday, if it also has always-listening hands-free operation like Moto ...but, well, things change so fast, there will be a new "it" phone by the time someday arrives. Oh well -- wonder what it'll be.)

Before the Feb Pixel security update it was pretty good. Now it freezes my phone. I'm already using the percentage bar. It's ok for a while after, but gets slower over time

Still not working as well as I would have hoped and no updates in a month and a half. Feeling a bit let down as I paid for this before it was ready because I appreciated the effort and wanted to support it but it has turned out to be a bit of a rip off. Down to two stars for the lack of ongoing support.
