Can't even find my comics on external sd card, it keeps on force closing showing an error, & shuts down the app

X70%
by X####:

Great comic reader. However, once you get to the last 2 or 3 pages of a comic, the app crashes. This really needs to be fixed as it's annoying if one of those pages contains part of the story.

C70%
by C####:

Hands down the best comic reader for me. Nice customisable material design UI. A couple of unnecessary permissions though. And sometimes cbz files are not read properly, just black pages.

X70%
by X####:

A great comic viewer that is increasingly unstable. Great file browsing/organisation but gets caught up when a title has a number other than issue number or year. Reader function is feature rich and flexible but the app has taken to just randomly crashing repeatedly for no obvious reason. Great when it works but has too many bugs to be perfect especially when it just randomly dies mid read. A problem which can seemingly only be fixed by deleting and reinstalling the app. Which is frankly unacceptable.

X70%
by X####:

Google drive connectivity is the best of the many apps I've tried. Very fast on a slow tablet.

So where is the overall?

X70%
by X####:

I was a loyal Komik user for some time. A friend recommended this app shortly after it was released and while I thought it looked nice, I wasn't won over. They encouraged me to check it out again, saying that it'd gotten better with every update. From reading other reviews, it's clear that that's the case, and that the developer is very responsive to feedback. I decided to give it another go,and this is everything I've ever wanted in a comic reader app. Gorgeous, packed full of great features. Recommended.

Some nice views and will read/keep folder structure in navigation. But the catalog view is buggy. Changing the view option of All Comics from folder to list and there is no option to change back any longer. Exiting the then returning to All Comics and now the sort menu is duplicated. Also won't open some cbr/cbz that other readers open just fine. Has the potential to be the best.

R70%
by R####:

When on page flip mode, reaching the end of a comic results in constant crashes when trying to reopen the file. Also data quickly piles up for some reason. Other than that, it's probably flawless.

R70%
by R####:

Really well thought out program. I have a bug that i cant add comics 3 folders deep or more. Really like this program though. I can open them through my file explorer and open them that way with the progrm. Just cant add the folder itself.

External SD card now works with Marshmallow. Everything works great and the app is very smooth. However, the internal memory the app uses rises rather quickly over time even if the files are being pulled from an external sd card.

Loved this app so much I paid for the ad free version. Totally worth it, keep up the good work!

Q70%

Only app that has worked for me and I love the customization options! Completely worth getting the pro version

D70%

Great to hear this project isn't dead, excited for updates!

R70%

After upgrading, none of the covers show up.

E70%
by E####:

I upgraded to Marshmallow, and now, I cannot navigate to the SD card where my comics are. It's a shame because I did pay for this app. I would wait until it can be made to work with that.

I am a longtime ComicCat user. I stumbled across this one on a reddit search, and I am thrilled. The Material Design is a nice change. The comics load quickly, it syncs well with OneDrive (the only cloud I have tried so far here), and I have a number of options to tweak it to my satsifaction. (example: I had to change the file format to Title, Year, Issue# so that it would properly read the issue numbers from my ComicRack formatted filenames.) So far, I consider this app $2.17 well spent.

R70%
by R####:

Probably the best comic book reading app that I have used with a fantastic material design user interface. The app however does have some crashing issues on occasion, with the page flip animation leading to a crash every time towards the end of a comic on the two devices I have tried it on, changing the animation to none fixes the problem for me.

Would have given it 5 stars if it was bug free. But it crashes on some cases. Also some comic pages turn blurry and text is hard to read then. I'm suspecting it apps' resizer code fault. It has happenes to me with two comics. Considering it's not free product, I excpect developer to resolve these issues. Contact me for more specific details.

This was my favorite comic viewer but now that Android marshmallow is out, it doesn't work and the developer has stopped working on it. Don't waste your money.

R70%
by R####:

It force closes on me many times it's virtually impossible to get through a comic without it fc-ing. I have tried reinstalling to no avail

E70%
by E####:

App looks and feels incredible, but am having issues with crashing at the last few pages of every .cbr file. Problem doesn't occur on free version. Would love to continue using this once this is fixed.

C70%
by C####:

Apps that don't work as well as ones I can get for free, one which actually do what they say they can do........android market place is an economical black hole.

R70%
by R####:

Please add ability to download from cloud (Dropbox/Google Drive) directly onto the SD Card. Currently only internal memory is supported, and I can't download that many comics from my Dropbox due to the fact that my internal memory fills up. I have to sequentially move them to SD Card as I download. Add this feature and I'll give 5 stars. :)

R70%
by R####:

Edit: it's worth noting that the reader can no longer access the SD card on marshmallow (6.0) which makes it useless for a lot of people. Otherwise it's a great app, I'm going to try to contact the developer about this, but the app is open source if somebody else wants to fix it

Tried a lot of comic viewers and this one is just simple, elegant and does what it needs to do. It is only missing one important feature (at least for me) and that's the ability to access network shares. If only it could access CIFS, NFS, FTP, SFTP or Webdav shares, it would be perfect.

R70%
by R####:

This is really the best comic viewer on the app store, I was using Astonishing Comic Viewer, but it's developer hasn't improved the app much. This app has a really good folder for system, this the definitely the best comic viewer on the Play Store.

R70%
by R####:

Shows promise, still needs work. Like show page thumbnails on 'go to page', add border cropping option and maybe give the option to show a couple of stacked covers in place of the folder icon on a folder card. Also show the number of files in that folder.

I love this app, but since I upgraded to Marshmallow, I can't add my SD card as a folder - the app crashes every time. Is there a workaround to this?

R70%
by R####:

Love the app so i bought it! The 1 feature i would love to see added is "fit to screen" option.

U70%

Good but uses an insane amount of device storage. Don't use if you're low on space.

R70%

Crash at reading the comic, please bugfix!!!

How do you point this to the SD card? just got a new s7 edge and i cant figure it out.

T70%

Creating collection from search filter results does that work. Cannot remove from collection. Some thumbnails are not displayed. Also hogs disk space.

firstly, I think this is the best looking comic reading app for android. Clean lines, organized, and decent amount of "look" options. I do have requests... First request: when reading comics in landscape view, give us the option to allow two comic/Manga pages to fit onto the screen. This is a very useful feature for those of us who use full sized tablets. Second request: Allow thumbnails for parent folders. When I'm browsing I'd like to have thumbnails instead of folder names. Outside of these request, this is the best comic reading app.

Dev does a very good job keeping this app up to date, and continually adds features and optimizations. The UI is truly a work of art, and the UX is second to none.

Q70%
by Q####:

Absolutely the best choice you can make if you're reading comics on your tablet or phone. Recent updates have made this app the stand-alone best comic viewing experience on the Play Store, kudos, dev. Most of the issues I've had are ironed out - now I'm just missing one feature: OPDS feed support. I have a humongous comics library and I use Ubooquity to combat that fact. On it's own Ubooquity works quite well in a browser, but in a perfect world I'd use it through Material Comic Viewer Pro which has an amazing UI. Please consider it.

I'd like to see a force landscape mode as well. I normally lock my phone in portrait mode, and can set it to auto-rotate when this app is open, but force landscape would help when reading while laying down.
