Ever wondered what the name for that color is? Or wanted a set of colors that could be described as 'dusty'?
Color Namer lets you name colors in the world around you using your camera. You can also explore the whole named colorspace with a color picker, search through color names, and find names for hex values.
The named colors in the app were taken from the results of the XKCD color survey: xkcd.com/color/rgb/. This huge survey asked real people to name swatches of colors. After some data processing by XKCD, the survey resulted in some pretty funny color names, like "ugly purple", "boring green", "vomit yellow" and "barney".

It does a pretty good job at identifying colors and has a clean interface that makes it easy to use. My only complaint is that the camera is rotated 180 degrees on my phone. That makes it difficult to point at specific objects.

Search by colour name is good. It would be nice if you could load photos from gallery to pick colors. It would also be great if it suggested different types of pallets (Complementary, Hues, Shades, etc) and kept a history of chosen colors like "Color Grabb" (com.loomatix.colorgrab).

Easy to find the color you're looking for, gives it a good name, and now lets you grab colors with your camera for those times when you and your friends cannot agree on what shade that wall is painted.
