About Are You Ok? (RUOK)
How many times have you read about someone who was injured or died while they were alone - while working, fishing, hunting, traveling, or just at home alone? Now you can provide yourself and your loved ones with peace of mind by installing "Are You Okay?".
How does it work?
"Are You Okay?" works by simply sending a pre-arranged text message along with your GPS coordinates if you ever indicate that you are "Not Okay." The text message goes to the person of your choosing, and there is no GPS tracking unless you are "Not Okay."
You can select an option that sends an automatic text message to your emergency contact whenever you put them "on call," and again when you take them off.
Simple to set up!
Set up an "Are You Okay?" profile for each activity you do alone. For example, if you hunt you can set up an activity called "Hunting." Then, you tell the app who your emergency contact is while you are hunting. You can set up a number of profiles, each with different emergency contacts, such as Working, Fishing, Running, Driving, the list is endless!
Once you set up an activity, you tell the app how often you want it to check on you. Every hour, every two hours, every ten minutes, it's entirely up to you! The app then alerts you at the prearranged times, and simply asks "Are You Okay?" Tell it "Yes," and the app goes back to sleep until the next prearranged time, and the process repeats.
If the app asks "Are You Okay?" and you respond "No", the app immediately send a text message to the emergency contact that you designated. The text message says that you have indicated that you are not okay, and includes the GPS location of your smart phone. If the app asks "Are You Okay" and you fail to respond, then the app waits a length of time you designate and then asks again. Failure to respond again causes the app to send the help text immediately!
