Cogi – Notes & Voice Recorder for Android
You can't record calls without paying. Either on a per call basis or a monthly plan.
It's a great app, works fine for long meetings. It's awesome for a free version. For now free version is good enough for me!!
Cogi ROCKS! Wouldn't be without it!
When trying to playback the recording if you multitask and switch to another app and come back then it will lose the position you were previously at forcing you to play back from the beginning to find where you were. Also they should add 5 second ,10 second, 30 second rewind buttons so that you can quickly go back a few seconds if you didn't hear something clearly, doing this with the slider is not practically possible. Also I wish there was a way to directly record to a cloud storage of users choice.
Wants to charge for recording phone conversations also. Over $1.00 a minute. Ctfu.
UPDATE: A very encouraging response! I'll reinstall on my tablet waiting for the update to address this issue so I can then reinstall it on my phone. ORIG: I Greenified this app since I only have need for it infrequently during the course of a year. However, it is disconcerting to see how often this app, even when NEVER used, keeps rearing itself in the background. When I need it, I need it. Not when I don't need it. Uninstalling to install only when needed...Rarely. Not taking the hit to battery life for so little usage. Has to be a way to correct this issue although many apps don't.
Does not back up no share it option good for recording worst for storage
Charges you money
States it is free, then it immediately wants you to choose a payment plan. Then, after a crucial phone call that I needed recorded, it didn't record bc apparently I was supposed to turn it on upon making the call.
So far I like it. I gave a 4 because I just downloaded it and played with it for a few minutes. I will be using this for my college classes and my tablet. Fall semester starts tomorrow 8/22/16 and after I use it for a few class days I will update my review. I have been looking for an app that would record my instructors lectures. UPDATE: The fee of $4.99 per month for extra "cloud" storage kind of stinks! Considering that the ONLY reason I even use the Cogi website and cloud is to be able to e-mail a recording every once in a blue moon. And it is even worst that once you upload any recordings it takes it out of the app and is then only available to you if you go on the website to access it! I VERY much so dislike that. If you upload it to the "cloud" you should still have it in your app to access it. It is just utterly upsetting that Cogi forces you to upload your recordings just so your able to e-mail a recording. When I say I only have e-mailed a few times I mean I think I have e-mailed recordings 2 times. Now I'm out of storage space in the "cloud" and my recordings are gone from my app! Thinking after all this I will be looking for another app to use!!!
It's a little confusing at first but does a good job of recording conversations.
Quite pleased
You can listen and not be distracted by notes or reverie
Get the scoop
Early but it seems like great potential....
Uniquely designed, practical, efficient.
This is f****** b******* app tone download in this mother f*****
There is no way to backup text with this app. One must laboriously copy/paste each note to a text editor. Then of course it loses all association with voice and image. i guess this is their way of forcing you to use their cloud service. I like to use my own PC.---Edit: Unfortunately Cogi's "eventual" solution is contraproductive. It would make it HARDER to back up to disk: it will instead be in a nebulous "cloud", not available to my PC. What is needed is to have file system access to all three data types.
Since it doesn't record everything, like it lead me to believe when I downloaded it, I thought I recorded a whole interview for a school assignment only I didn't record any of the 1.5 hours. I need a transcript of the interview for the assignment & I won't have that so I get to fail a very well planned assignment because some poorly planned app!
If it is a one month trail then I will loose my life because my documents are my life please reply team cogi.
It says it's free but it is not
It would be a plus to see what time the recording was started
I use this all the time for work, graduate studies, personal journals, and meetings. I am not an audio learner. Using this app helps me go over things I may have missed in my note taking. I love the way I can organize recorded info with hastags and notes. It allows me to focus more on listening, while knowing I have a back-up, just in case. I haven't subscribed to the paid version, but it's a want of mine soon. It's an app I tell everyone about. Thanks for making a great app.
Everything used to upload automatically but now with my new phone it won't upload to the cloud so now I can't access my audio from my computer. I've given it all the right permissions and logged in and everything, but it just won't upload, using WiFi or cell data. This is very inconvenient
Don't bother trying to set it up since you can't submit. Why are they wasting the users time with dead-end nonsense? Fix the issues and when you add features make sure they actually work.
New: Still can't save to SD card. Didn't need to before but now I do. Changed settings but no luck. Please fix. Old review: fixed the notification issue, back to 5 stars! Old review: low space notifications are still occurring when I start a new session (the pop up message). Just remove the notification altogether. It's the user's responsibility of being aware of available storage space anyway. Old:The quality is amazing on my Galaxy S4. I can make lossless recordings (705kbps, analyzed by the Lossless
Have some issues with crashing during playback. Can't find my sessions to review anywhere but online
Working accurately
Crystal clear recordings in noisy environments, and loads of functionality I haven't even begin to take advantage of. Two thumbs way up!
You guys could market this for songwriters. It's more useful and higher quality than all the apps that are specifically made for songwriters. Just being able to have lyrics and recordings seamlessly integrated was all I needed and this does that beautifully.
Have experienced the failure to be able to play back recorded clips several sessions now.
The recording works only if you don't use the photo taking feature.
I really wanted to like it, as I read a few reviews saying it was the best for Android. The recordings are clear and crisp, which is perfect, BUT they won't sync to the cloud, nor do I have the option of sharing the notes in another way (won't do attach to texts, won't let me try another option like email, for whatever reason). I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried a few other things, but no dice. I've got no choice but to find another app. It's too bad, bc I spent time taking all of these notes :(
It wont save any of my recordings. Was working before. Set it to save in sd card. Already checked that i have sufficient memory. It says cant find file.
Useful and well done
A simple way to make taking notes easy!
Love it!
My only issue is lag (else would have given 5stars) on my one plus two. Mighty useful app, if there is a tweak to handle lag within the app please do so. Also, it tends to stop listening sometimes and would just close. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does , a little frustrating..
It's now not recording anymore and i uninstalled many times, just the first time it recording and then stops recording forever

Don't normally review but I'm annoyed. I've had this app on my phone for ages as it looked like a good concept, but used it for the first time last night. I did a short recording to test and it played back fine. So I recorded a 1hr talk I attended. Now I come to play it back, the first few minutes are okay but the rest is completely garbled and unintelligible. It sounds like it's constantly skipping. This is recorded in MP3. Cannot assess wav recording as I have not tried that, but it failed at the one thing I have tried, and did it in a way that I couldn't tell it was failing. Worst of all worlds for something that is supposed to be reliably recording a one-off event.
