This application is used for encrypting and decrypting files with 256 bit AES algorithm. You can use it to encrypt files before putting them on online locations (cloud storage, Google Drive, Skydrive, Box, Dropbox, Gmail, etc.) or to store encrypted sensitive files on your Android phone so that they are unreadable to those who don't know your password.

This application is accompanied by clients for different operating systems like Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and operating systems that can run Java. Source code of AES Crypt algorithm and client software is available at AES Crypt (http://www.aescrypt.com).

Features
• 256 bit AES encryption format (AES Crypt version 2)
• File encryption and decryption
• Secure erase of original files after encryption or decryption
• Internal file browser for selecting, deleting and renaming files, setting output directory, setting key file
• Send/share functionality (Google Drive, SkyDrive, Box, Dropbox, Gmail, Bluetooth etc.)
• Encrypt your files before putting them in the cloud storage (Google Drive, SkyDrive, Box, Dropbox etc.)
• Password can be in Unicode (you can select password like "密碼 パスワード пароль كلمة السر" )
• Password can be up to 100 characters (minimum 6 and recommended at least 12 characters or more)
• Encrypted files have .aes extension which clients on other operating systems recognize
• Select where files will go after encryption/decryption (ie. sync folders)
• Key file support (file which contains password up to 1024 characters in length for encryption/decryption)

Notice: Speed of encryption or decryption depends a lot on speed of internal memory/SD card!

Great if you want to never open the file agian. It will always tell you file all ready exist when you try to open file regardless of how you try to open the file. . Encryption works great., will not decrypt anything

D70%
by D####:

Works fair. It would be great with some feature for single use of the file. In that way, you will not have to delete the decrypted file every time you use it. For example when you want to see a crypted picture.

M70%
by M####:

Requires network permissions. It is unacceptable, unnecessary and dangerous for an encryption app to require network permissions for any reason. I acknowledge it's for ads, but an encryption app simply cannot be trusted with them. Any attempt at justifiability for the same is beside the point. It may as well be malware. Uninstalled.

This is a perfect tool for securing files. I prefer using GPG, but getting people to install and use it is a fight i just can't win. With this tool and the aescrypt desktop tools I can safely share secure files with co-workers and everyone else. This tool specifically works great on my phone and tablet. It is ideal for storing files on my phone and in the cloud.

C70%
by C####:

Tried and tested. Encrypted a file on android, decrypted on linux and windows. Easy to use and straightforward, but UI could use an update. Paid and no-ads version would be nice.

C70%
by C####:

This is the worst app i have ever seen

C70%

Works as expected. I hope the developer add a option/feature to select multiple files.

doesn't work

If AES encryption is good enough for U.S. government to use, it should be good enough for my cell phone.

SCAM. This app will encrypt your files. No decrypt. It says output file isn't writable, and I know for a fact it is. It says the output folder is set through the file browser but has no option to set file in the browser. Thanks for losing my pics, a-hole.

There's talks about the possibility of reverse engineering tools and device rooting used by hackers to decrypt apk software including this app.its a scary thought that your privacy is no longer safe even with encryption software. I'd like to know if this offers full protection from manual an online hackers. Thank you. Concerned user.

Having difficulty using. I selected a file, created and confirmed a password. A box came up labeled Encrypt. When I clicked on it I got an error message "Failed to open output file". Now what do I do?

C70%
by C####:

It encrypted ALLL my files on my tablet and now I can't use any of them

C70%

Works as advertised. I haven't had any problems.

I wont speak abot GUI...it does the job, but why i can't decrypt the file from AEScrypt password that contain other than letter or alphabetic?

C70%
by C####:

Totally fake, don't waste your time.

C70%

I wanted to use encryption across 3 platforms. Linux, Windows and Android. Unfortunately It does not seem to work when trying to decrypt a file encrypted with Crypt4All using AES Crypt for Linux.

C70%
by C####:

Great App... Anyway you can come out with a paid version to get rid of the ads? I like a clean look. Either way thanks for the goods work!

X70%
by X####:

Please add features to encrypt or decrypt multiple files at once.

C70%

Does what it is supposed to do, developer did a great job

U70%

Only thing missing is being able to encrypt multiple files at the same time.

X70%

Does what it needs to do.Haven't encountered any bugs thus far. Would of given 5 stars if better looking and that bloody advertising placement. So where is the ad free paid version? Apart from a message not yo download the other version I'm confused as to the difference between lite/non lite versions

C70%

Seems to do the trick. Thank you for your work :-)

Won't win first prize for looking good on the eye but do what it does pretty damn well. Keep up the good work!

C70%

Perfect. Might as well not call it lite.

C70%

If you want to make sure no one can get to a file (but you want to keep that thumbnail of the file to remind you that it's there) then this seems to be a great choice. If you want a replacement for email encryption, this is not a good choice, encrypted files wont go with your email. It's useful ( though I haven't tried encryption prior to sending to cloud storage) but not what I was looking for.

How do i read the crypt message ?

M70%
by M####:

You can only do smaller than 5MB files.

C70%

Very easy to use ! Enter your clear password (how many characters you can remember) into a .txt file (key file). Go to Settings > Enter "Key file path" > Check "Persistent key file" > Check "Show new file path". How I use it: Select (Open) a file or much easier Scan (or take a picture) > Open that file > Right click (contextual menu) > Share (or Send to) Crypt4all > Encrypt ... At this point the app has the job done ... but, wait ... there is more ... (not much more, but essential as the program has pointed the new encrypted .aes file with decrypt option) !!! > AGAIN Share icon > Send to Dropbox > Upload > DONE ! Excellent ... Simple, useful and easy to use ... Google should let us to give 6 stars ... This app deserves it, or better: his author … he made my day … A +++

The maximum file size is 5mb, who wants to encrypt a file less than that. This app can't encrypt anything bigger so it is useless

Great working App and fantastic support !

I encrypted a text file in NoteEverything Pro. I was still able to open it afterward, even though it shows AES on the end of the file name. Where did I go wrong?

M70%
by M####:

Might be operator error but I cannot seem to set the output directory for decryption in Settings. Touching the option to do so does nothing. BUT the app works perfectly in conjunction with AES Crypt which is the reason I need this helpful app. Galaxy S 2 Android 4.1.2. Changed to 5 stars after developer corrected my operator error for setting output file default. I also like the secure erase feature which I use to delete the decrypted file when done. This app also works correctly on my (old) Samsung 10.1 Tablet.

Don't know what else it sets itself up for on my phone. Switched to SSE - no special permissions or system changes.

You say Google doesn't support selling in our country. Why? I would pay for a version with bigger file size and multiple file selection. Just need a fully functional version. You have adds for some revenue. Is it a government issue? I need a reliable aes encryption tool with no back doors or government ties. Can you do please?

C70%
by C####:

Why don't you just update this to remove limits? You're not making money by keeping the full version on your hard drive. Instead, add a Paypal donation page in the app itself and people will donate. (Just keep it as a link so it doesn't require any permissions. It will open in the browser). Good luck. Will try it now.
