Baha 5 Smart for Android
I've used this app on the Galaxy S6 and it works as expected. It's useful for when you need to adjust programming and volume without fiddling with the device or other accessories. It only took a couple attempts to initially pair and has been stable since. However it won't pair the BAHA with an S8 so here's hoping for a patch in the future. Until then, I'll be keeping my S6 around as a "remote."
App does not work, simply gives directions to restart BAHA 5 then just says connecting.. I've tried everything I can think of including trying a fresh/unused phone.. still does not connect. Hope this will be sorted as the app looks very promising and will take a lot of hassle away from using the BAHA 5 :(
Nougat update. STILL CRASHES! FIX THIS BUGGY JUNK! OR!.... TELL US TO GET BENT AND JUST BE HAPPY WITH THE JUNK YOU'VE GIVEN US!
Come on Cochlear. It's STILL not compatibile with a Samsung S8 5 months after release. This is literally the 2nd top selling phone in the entire world. With my feeble tech skills I could make it compatible with access to the source code with 1 hours work. What are your tech guys doing? Playing WoW 40hrs a week? Real tech companies like WhatsApp and Sony make their devices compatible with thousands of phones on a daily basis. How come you guys only work with iPhones. Apple only has 10% market share in China if you can't be bothered to cater to the 90% your company will do a Kodak or a Blackberry within 24 months
I have had the BAHA 5 sound processor for about a year. It has been very good with the app and different phones. I have the phone clip I don't use it that much because of the noise that it pick up. Would like to have more adjustments with the base and trible
I have a Samsung galaxy s8 and it won't connect. I try to pair it and it always says fail. I try it on my iPhone and my device didint even appear.
It doesn't work, it crashes all the time, and you might as well kiss goodbye trying to connect after the first time.
Unable to pair baha 5 with my android app
You may need Bluetooth Auto Connect app to pair baha5 first then app works great
Will not pair to my Baha 5
It doesn't work on Galaxy S8. Please resolve this issue immediately.
It stinks
This app allows you to load new programs, edit existing programmes, adjust the volume and track the battery level. It does not, however, allow you to stream music, phone calls, etc from your Android device without the phone clip. The iPhone app has this functionality. Very disappointed as the streaming function was the one I needed most.
I am very disappointed with this application. We (my audiologist and I) have desperately tried to pair the Baha 5 with my phone. My audiologist checked and confirmed that the latest firmware was installed on the Baha 5. But nothing. No way. When launching the "pairing" from the application, it displays my Baha 5, but fails to connect when "pressing" the "pair" button. I have a Samsung J5 (Dual SIM) with Android 6.0.1. Reverting to a single SIM Android Smartphone or buying an iPhone is absolutely not an option to me. Btw. something I forgot to mention. I have SSD and therefore wearing only one Baha 5 (and not two). Apparently, although my only Baha 5 is found by the application, it still continues to search.
Currently unable to pair, it asks me to restart- which I do, then it sees my baha with my name -- when I tap "pair" it just fails. rinse and repeat. I'm on a nexus 5x. any solutions? I tried the work around since I have android 7.0. It also doesn't pair. I uninstalled and cannot pair from blue tooth settings either.
This app is completely useless. I have re-pair the device everytime turn on this app. This needs to be sort out sharpish consider this app is the only user interface for Baha 5.
I dont know what happen to this app. I can easily pair my processor before. But now I cant able to pair with my processor. It says pairing failed .. can i get some help??
Functionality is good, but it needs further devleopment to be practical: - 1. Connection needs to be much quicker 2. Once connected, it needs to stay connected and the BAHA app needs to stay on 3. If disconnection occurs because of distance, then it need to reconnect automatically once the phone is near again again I'm comparing this to the Polar M600 watch which does all of the above really well Both the BAHA 5 and the Polar M600 watch are low energy bluetooth devices so there is no reason why the behaviour can't tbe the same There should be options for the BAHA 5 to connect immediately it comes within range and to have the BAHA app always on. It's no use my mucking about in a restaurant trying to change the settings when I have to spend sevaral minutes trying to get the BAHA reconnected Also: the description of the BAHA ap in Google play includes the statement "Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life" Whatever has GPS got to do with it Do they mean Bluetooth - but then that's why the device is a low energy device!
Won't pair with my phone or tablet. Says the software in the Baha needs updating. Works fine with my wife's iPhone. I've got this on loan from my doctor and won't proceed if I can't get it working with my android devices. Update: returned to my audiologist who upgraded the firmware and all is now ok Here's what I have it paired with Samsung galaxy s5 phone - 6.0.1 Samsung Tab4 tablet - 5.0.2 Asus pad 7 tablet - 5.1.1 Hope this is helpful.
Had to call and trouble shoot to cunnect my phone to hearing aid and i am doing the work around but the fact i dont have to use the phone clip just to control my volume is asome.
Sony Xperia Z3 worked for first day 7 Feb 2017 but unable to get it paired since. When it was paired would not stay connected and had to go through the whole process again
It can find my device but it won't pair because it claims that the firmware on the device is old, yet I can pair it just fine on my iPad and saw my audiologist very recently, and she had no update for me.
I can't connect my hearing aids. They e were connected then for some reason they've disconnected. I've changed the batteries - twice. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app to see if that would work the problem out it hasn't. I've been trying for the last 2 days..... help! I've had to ask for support here because unless your hearing aids are connected there is no other way to ask for support :(
It worked once and then needed to re-pair. I tried to pair it again and again and it breaks all the time.
Unhappy about it coz i only just downloaded the app and it say pearing failed why is that
I cannot get my device pair to my hearing aid.
Loads slowly, doesnt stay connected
I have tried many times to connect to my processor and it just won't find it. I've even tried to connect to my phone clip and I won't find it either.
Thanks very much for bring baha hearing 5 app to Google play store
This app was fine on marshmallow. On Nougat, the app detects my BAHA, but WILL NOT pair. HELP!!!!!!
Connectivity is good with my Samsung S7 with Nuguat. So they fixed that problem with the latest update. I get that streaming is not possible with Samsung right now. BUT why can't I use my phone as a remote mic? That is the logical use. 5 stars then.
Unable to pair with Galaxi S8, sometimes it sees the devices (have two Baja 5), and now and then can pair one with repeated on and off and restarting, but never both. Sure wish it worked, don't really want to go to iPhone
Today, I'm updating my review from January and the app still doesn't work on my Huawei 9 phone, an Android phone. So so disappointing.
This app allows you to load new programs, edit existing programmes, adjust the volume and track the battery level. It does not, however, allow you to stream music, phone calls, etc from your Android device without the phone clip. The iPhone app has this functionality. Very disappointed as the streaming function was the one I needed most.
After I installed the app and got it working for about 5 days, I disconnected it because I wanted to test with the Apple version to see what de differences are. But I couldn't connect the iPhone to the BAHA5 and after that I could not connect my Android device either anymore. It now says that the software of my BAHA needs to be updated.
Says my processor needs to be updated by my Hearing Care Professional
I can't get the app to load past the big yellow button to pair it to my phone.
Thanks for finally bringing baha5 smartapp in Android platform. Really appreciable, that you realize people also use android phone.
I've had mine updated by my Hearing Care Professional smart app is working very well

I have the BAHA 5 and it is up to date with its firmware as far as I know. I sent my old one in and they sent me a brand new one with my old settings on it so I am assuming it's firmware is up to date and not the old firmware. But when I try to connect it to the app, the app recognizes it and then says that the pairing failed and to restart the BAHA and try again. Which I did three different times. I don't know what else to do. But I'd love to be able to use this app with it
