PhotoGuru Media Player for Android
I need help. I bought the Google drive version on my phone. When I try to use the same account and everything on my nexus player I seem to get the bar that is saying I need to buy this again... Why??
I have a bug to report. I have this app installed on a Android TV media player (MyGica) and I am using the Google Drive component to display ,and slideshow, uploaded photos to a folder on google drive. However, when I upload a new photo(s). the app does not seem to update the list of photos it can see/access. I left it playing for 30 minutes and it did not update the photos displaying. Only by restarting the MyGica android tv media player device and then relaunching the PhotoGuru app was it then able to display the updated photos which were uploaded to the google drive folder. Can this be addressed please? Perhaps adding in an option where you can command the app to scan the Google Drive folder for changes and set how frequently you want it to check for changes. If this can be implemented I will purchase this component as I plan to have many people contributing to this Google drive folder and dont want to have to restart my device to be able to see the recent uploads/changes.
Photo Guru is a great app to access all your photos and videos stored on various cloud services. I use it on Amazon Cloud Drive and love it. Support is excellent. I had an issue and it was resolved in a few days.
good
Very nice app. It's a great way to view photos on my large TV screen. I have them all on Dropbox anyway, and PhotoGuru can import them from there. I can then flip through the photos manually or set up a slideshow. And use them as a screen saver (PhotoGuru works with Daydream, which is the Android TV screen saver). There's a charge of $3.50 for the Dropbox module to get rid of a message on the screen, but that seems reasonable. I suppose it would add up if you wanted to import photos from all the different services (they all work, but there's a charge for each one to get rid of a message on the screen), but I would think most people would be able to get by with one or two of them. It was a little hard to figure out how to work it at first, but after figuring it out it works pretty easily. One other thing that means a lot to me is that there are six options for the sort order within a folder of photos (plus, a slideshow can put them in random order).
Rendering images in 4K is nearly pointless when lacking the feature of 1:1 scaling of large/small images instead of down/upscaling them. Please add scaling options with 1:1 as a setting and I will gladly raise my rating.
Both my son and I run the PhotoGuru Media Player application on our 43 inch Sony 4K Android televisions which were both purchased just before Christmas 2016. Specifically, the app is used to view our Zenfolio photograph galleries on much larger screens and the resulting picture quality is stunning. Unlike my son, I have a networked Lenovo Think Centre driving my television so have been able to bore people with my pictures for many years. However, the PhotoGuru Media Player app is perfection personified and much easier to use than my computer. The options to personalise the player are numerous and are being regularly updated. The application was obviously enthusiastically designed by a serious photographer. He must be, he uses Zenfolio to show his pictures. Try it, buy it and enjoy it, you will not be disappointed...
Great app! Tried many different media players and this is the only one I could find that allows me to view over 10,000 photos as well as shuffle them. Support is quick and very helpfull.

This one of the only app I've seen that lets you create a slideshow with your Amazon, Google drive, and Picasa accounts and also plays your videos in slideshow mode. The only problem is that it's kind of glitchy some times. Also there is annoying text that you can't remove from the slideshow unless you buy the module. But if you're looking for an app that lets you play photos and video in slideshow mode this is the one.
Video playback works, but it is clear that PhotoGuru was primarily designed to handle photos. Still, I can recommend the app.
Great app. Deserves at least 4 stars !
I asked PhotoGuru customer support a question and got a reply an hour later. Can't beat that. Super app !
It is priced "per module", $3.5 to access dropbox, $3.5 for fb, $3.5 for samba... and so on. I would actually buy it for some $2..3, but having to pay separate fees per protocol?!? Thanks, but no thanks.
I use this app solely for to show my photos during daydream on my Android TV. It works pretty good except it doesn't show pictures from subfolders! This is such a huge feature to overlook!

Great little app that works well. Fantastic support from developer sorting out an issue. Thanks
Havn't found any sort oft alternative. Try out for yourself! Highly recommended
$3 per service to remove overlays. Ugly, but works. But, it works on Android TV without sideloading so if you are desperate ...
Horrible UI !! Why is so hard to use Material design??
I Use it for Dropbox access. Highly recommended.
Best cloud based image viewer I have used so far!
Using it from last few weeks. App deserve no less than 5 stars.
Great app. Works well. Allows me to access my Zenfolio photos. Highly recommended !

Problems using with flickr on Amazon firestick. When trying to sync the app to flickr account for first time at some point you get a flickr screen where you have a highlighted blue button where you have to accept allowing the app access to your account. Pressing the select button on the Firestick remote results in no action. Dead in the water. Cannot sync to flickr. So app currently useless on my Firestick.
