About MC-Photo Widget

Use photos downloaded from popular photography sites: 500px, Flickr, DeviantART, WikiArt, Instagram and Panoramio or your Local Albums.

NEW:
■ Google Earth imagery
■ WikiArt - Encyclopedia of fine arts
■ DeviantART - largest online social network for artists and art enthusiasts

*** Warning: this is a Widget, not a regular application and cannot be started as such - please read explanation at the end if in doubt.

Theme designers: make your screen designs dynamic! Add and arrange MC-Photo widgets, assign actions to them, set captions, set photo filters to blend photos into your theme look and feel, configure photo source for each widget to reflect it's purpose and select change interval. You can have fully functional theme that never looks the same but is always beautiful and understandable!

Photos can be displayed as:
■ Classic - one photo in a frame
■ Collage - several photos arranged in a collage

Photos can be selected by:
■ 500px categories
■ 500px user, user following, user favorites
■ 500px author name
■ Tags (500px)
■ Current weather at your location (500px)
■ Color (500px)
■ Flickr (latest interesting photos)
■ DeviantART
■ WikiArt
■ Panoramio (around you)
■ Instagram (popular or around you)
■ Local albums

Photos can be changed at a user selected interval.

Use Actions to start chosen application when you tap the widget. (Tap in the vertical middle to show Widget Options)

Use Caption to describe widget contents or selected action.

Use colored frames and photo filters to blend photos into you current home screen look and feel.

You can also save and load complete widget settings (bear in mind those are just internal settings, widget size and position is managed by launcher application).

***
Widget is not a regular android application and cannot be found in Application Drawer with other applications. Depending on your Launcher and Android version there are usually two options to add widget to a home screen:
1) App drawer -> Widgets Tab -> MC-Photo Widget AxB -> Drag it to home screen -> Configure options
Or
2) Long click on home screen -> Widgets -> MC-Photo Widget AxB -> Configure options

If your launcher doesn't support widget re-sizing select one of the sizes (AxB cells in home screen grid) for best fit to your design.

***Warning:
Some new versions can invalidate your current widgets. We will keep such changes at minimum but when it happens you may need to remove and add widgets again.

Every time I have to power off phone I lose every photo and get some green graphic where each photo should be. (1 year old phone, local photos). Frustrating.

V70%
by V####:

Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. Stops after half a day and you have to restart the phone. This isn't nice with an otherwise excellent app.

X70%
by X####:

How about opening current image in a viewer app on click? Profile backup and restore does not works for local pictures. It's strange that those features and a smaller interval are actually present in default provided app and without power consuption reported by monitoring apps (Clean Master). Take that in mind and keep up the good job.

I love the app and it works great. Made my phone more fun to use. I have unlimited Data with sprint and this app based on your settings will eat crazy amounts of data. In 11 days I went though 3 gb of data (I use zd box to track it). I wish I could lower the quality down so it wouldn't drain such high Amounts of data. I also wish that I could select tags for instagram or flickr. I hope someday they have an Facebook gallery options so I can see Facebook pictures from let's say a person, page, or group feed

I add the widget to my homescreen and select a photo but it never shows up on my homescreen. Also if I am picking collage and I dont want my photos to change why can I only pick 1 image.

T70%

Although I've set to single local photo and changing time set to infinity. Wtf?

O70%
by O####:

It's a shame because this widget is exactly what I need. However, every time my screen orientation changes, the widgets go blank and I have to restart them to see the image. So unless i manually refresh each image every time my phone moves, the app is just a bit of an eye sore. Im using local photos by the way.

Needs a feature to tap on a created widget to edit it. Currently, one has to delete the widget and create a new one to change something basic like font size. Implement for more stars.

I've got a 5x4 screen size. Can't find anyone of the widget sizes to fill up my screen. Other than that, this widget is just what a photo widget should work and look like.

It's awesome I like it a lot but what if I want just one picture to stick, I don't see the option. Want to be able to chose my picture and leave it on

Would not update kept getting error message. By force closing the app. Update worked.

Unlike other picture widgets, it shows an amazing quality picture without looking pixelated. It shows the picture, but says "unable to find photo" directly on top it. It doesn't matter what I do, it still stays there.

I70%
by I####:

Would you please add option to choose a specific image as background? It took me a whole day to move to the image I want with your "randomized" algorithm. Also after leaving setting screen, please don't change to next image automatically.

I've almost lost my s*** trying to use this widget. I have a Moto E and every time I go to set it up there's no "OK" or "confirm" button. How do you set it up? Every time I put in all my settings and back out, it just deletes the widget.

Beautiful photos from all kinds of sources, many cool features at your disposal. Not a good ui however. The preview for filters is buggy and the vignette filter needs improvement. But this widget is essential to anybody who enjoys decorating his phone!

GS4 user here. One of the best pic framing apps here. Brilliant multiple randomized frame options. Gives almost a parallax feel to some odd my pics. Keep it up, phase don't stop...you guys are on to something special!

Best photo widget application. But there is one effect that less is transparent photo. Let the photos as blend with the background.
