About Basic GPS
Basic GPS allows you to see your location on the map of your smart phones and tablets. You can store those locations as waypoints. In addition, you can share the waypoint with your friends through NFC, Bluetooth, Google+, Email, Messaging and more. Waypoints can be shared as plain text or a Google KML file.
It is an idea companion for outdoor activities, such as hiking, running, biking, sailing, kayaking and many more. The screen displays the latitude, longitude or any of the selected grid system along with position error, bearing, altitude, and speed.
Grid systems that are supported by this app are: MGRS, UTM/UPS, US National Grid (USNG), Georef, Map Grid Australia 1994 (MGA94), British National Grid (OSGB), New Zealand Transverse Mercator 2000 (NZTM2000) and New Zealand Map Grid (NZMG).
A waypoint can be created using the device's current location or the user can enter the coordinates or grid reference manually through the "create waypoint" dialog. In addition, the app is able to create a new waypoint when the user long press on the GPS map.

This is by far the best GPS app I've found so far for recording and managing waypoints using UK National Grid (OSGB, NGR) coordinates. Nice clean interface. Caches Google Maps for those many occasions when you can't get a data signal. Displays your position and estimated accuracy on the same screen (essential for logging field data, yet it's surprising how many apps force you to flip to another screen to check your estimated accuracy). Waypoints can be created and edited in NGR format (again, not all apps that display NGR allow this). Waypoint export. Plenty of things still to improve, but overall this is a really promising app.
