What are users saying about Linksys Connect

Love being able to manage my router just using my phone. Sure the Web interface helps, but I don't have to enable .js for this to work. My unit locks up every 10 mins now. No clue! RoadRunner assumes it's me.

T70%
by T####:

App is crazy laggy, doesn't open up at times. Need parental controls., would make app more effective, was hoping to not have to always get out my laptop for parental controls.....

T70%
by T####:

Just wanted what it says it will do but it doesn't even run. Refuse to download the info grabbing, invasive, app it wants to force me to use. Complete waste of bits to download it. You owe me Linksys! Stuff like this is starting to make me regret buying your router!! Strike One! Since I only installed it yesterday... the return just might happen. Thought your company was digging its way back from the dark days under Cisco?

L70%
by L####:

useless. cant go beyond first screen because it says i should not be connected to a guest or neighbor's network.

Q70%
by Q####:

Since I changed phones. It won't allow me to select the number of guests. That option is completely gone.

T70%
by T####:

The app was working great on my S5, but for some reason I have lost connectivity in the last couple of days. Can't get the app to connect. Uninstalled, reloaded, restarted router, etc. No effect.

T70%
by T####:

Does nothing but direct you to a needlessly complex, invasive app (when no app should be required in the first place; the router has an admin interface, but it's also been nerfed).

T70%
by T####:

Can't do much with this app. Waist of memory

T70%
by T####:

It works when you download the new one the other company bought this company out so the guy that told you the bait-and-switch was an idiot

T70%
by T####:

I guess the EA6400 isn't a supported router. Even the link to the list of supported routers doesn't work.

B70%
by B####:

cannot find the router even though I'm connected to it and less than 10 feet away.

K70%
by K####:

It doesn't! Cisco fails the consumer again. Uninstalling.

P70%
by P####:

Requires way too much personal information which makes me uncomfortable...

T70%
by T####:

Give an option to kick out unauthorized users

C70%
by C####:

As others have mentioned, this app now forces you to download the other app, which requires the release of too much personal information. Why would I even open my home network to the Internet just to manage my a WAP? Lame.

Forces to update to the new stupid app that requires online registration to manage the router. This is insecure, and requires providing entirely unnecessary information to Linksys. Selecting the Later button still takes you to the app store to download the new app with decreased capability. Upgrades that remove features are not upgrades.

P70%

My router recently reset and erased all configuration settings. Linksys prompted me to install via CD, which I no longer had. This did the trick for me. REMEMBER: default password is admin

C70%
by C####:

I have the e4200 router, re1000 range expander and.the.media bridge in a fairly good.size home 3000sf. Most recently the range expander provide very weak signals on the side of the home.opposite from the router. Within the last seveal days I am not able.to access the wi fi network on my devices unless I am within a few feet of the range expander. I have even reset and rebooted all devices - modem, rputer, range expander. Looking for new equipment at this point. Still like Linksys Cisco products

C70%
by C####:

I left off a star because I haven't yet figured out how to change the guest network password. I'll update if I can figure it out.

C70%
by C####:

Great idea but lacking in features i.e. parental controls, QoS, Mac Cloning, etc. No landscape mode is a MUST or tablets! Get it right...

B70%
by B####:

Have used app for a long time with no problem but after a update to my Android system Guest Settings are no longer accessible and cannot name or set password.

A70%
by A####:

This app is good which makes u to have a control on the router settings but i suggest that it should also have a feature which tells about the amount of data used by a single connected device and also make restricted amount of data usage of a particular device

C70%
by C####:

Wps push button, guest access, and rebooting are really the only features. It's ok at best.

C70%
by C####:

Doesn't have all the settings that the web interface does but this app does exactly what I needed. Refresh IP, view connected devices, reboot, view connection stats. Works great with my older e1000. Props and thanks to linksys!

by E####:

I'm connected to a WiFi network but it won't let me in the app keeps saying failure

L70%

Since I changed phones. It won't allow me to select the number of guests. That option is completely gone.

C70%

It would be appreciate if i can able to kick the user out to my wifi connection.

D70%
by D####:

The app can only control very limited number of basic features. Only want you see on the screenshots. I'm giving one extra star to encourage Cisco to develop this app further. It would be nice to have a fully functional router admin on your phone or tablet.

H70%
by H####:

It was working fine before now it's starting not working no more plus it doesn't let me change in the guest password

F70%
by F####:

Says it can't find my network even though I'm connected to it and standing right next to it

C70%
by C####:

Worked perfectly for me. DID NOT force me to the other app. Not sure if its router specific, but it logged me in right away and I was able to manage my router with ease.

C70%
by C####:

App is unable to see the network at all, but WiFi is connected and working.

Very limited router management interface.

X70%

Can't change anything. Router management is a view only screen

T70%

App does not find my router even if I stand next to it. Would like to try it if someone could help me fix this issue.

T70%
