Rest assured, the CIBC Mobile Payment App is just as secure as using your CIBC credit card.

To use the CIBC Mobile Payment App, you’ll need:
• An activated Rogers suretap NFC SIM card, or Bell, TELUS, Virgin Mobile or Koodo Mobile NFC SIM card. A new SIM card may be required. To obtain an NFC SIM Card, please visit your mobile providers store, order online, or contact their call center.
• A data plan with Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Virgin Mobile or Koodo Mobile.
• An Android supported phone. Visit www.cibc.com/mobilepayment for more information. Please ensure you have made all phone software updates prior to downloading the App. Some Android smartphones may not be supported by your service provider. Please contact them directly for more information.
• A CIBC credit card

Read about the self registration feature and decided to just register my card. The process was real easy and smooth. I was always hesitant to do this as before you were required to go through a customer service representative and boy that is a real tedious process. This has now made it really easy and simple for anyone to try and do on their own. Kudos CIBC. A good job done

Does not even work. You get all the way to the end of the setup to find an error message and to contact support. Waist of time. It's sad to see other banks have a working app and yet this one does not. Can't wait until Google Pay comes to Canada.

Instead of your customers complaining about the lack of debit card functionality in their reviews and responding with the same scripted "stay tuned" response. Why not tell your customers if it's at all possible with this app, or would it need to be merged into the banking app as the other major banks. Just simply state if it's a limitation of the sure-tap technology.

Why can't you make this app compatible with all Android phones? Doesn't work with my new LG V20. Even Scotiabank has now made its Mobile Wallet compatible with all Android phones. RBC is also compatible with all Android phones. CIBC supports Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, yet their own app is way out of date and doesn't even support debit cards. Please update your app to work with ALL Android phones and add debit card functionality. You have a terrific banking app, but your mobile payment app totally sucks!!!

I am using Samsung S7 Edge. I called numerous times (5 times) to be exact and nothing happened the upload my visa card to the app. It is so frustrating.

Forgot my passcord then the app got it block which is good. I have contacted CIBC agents for help twice. Each time I got one promise to have someone to get back to me with 48 hours. Nothing happened!

Everything works fine and instantly until the verification code needs to be entered. Then the app just sits there like it's sending the code but nothing ever happens.

Worked fine for me on my BB Q10, but since the switch to a S7 can't get it to work. Several promises that support will call me, no solution. I give it one more week, after that I switch to TD. Update: was fixed quickly.

This app does not work on my S7 that is fully equipped to deal with contactless payment. Let's you enter your banking information and stops.

Will not work with debit. Banks say don't use credit its bad yet this app only allows credit not debit cards. Get it right CIBC

I have an LG G3, am with Bell, have an NFC Sim Card and a CIBC Visa and the app doesn't work. Just sits at a screen saying my registration has been sent. Called support and they couldn't help either.

First time registering and it worked. Didn't get a chance to use it on a purchase and when I did it asked me to register again. Couldn't get it to work because I've been getting errors and unable go finish the registeration. Emailed support and haven't heard back due to high volume of requests. Guess I'll only get to try this until they resolve the issue. Update 10/26/2016. After getting a response from the app team I noticed the app works again and the issue resolved. Look forward to using it!

Never worked for me. Was told by the customer service representative that somebody from technical support will call me. Nobody called yet. I am using Rogers galaxy s7 edge. I tried on various merchants like starbucks, Levi's, Hudson bay. Canadian tire, it never worked. Don't even install it wasting your time.

For a month I tried to install and register this app, and it never worked. Several phone calls and 4 weeks later, CIBC eventually blames Telus. Except I have coworkers on Telus and have no issues with their mobile payment app (not CIBC). So if you try this app, and it doesn't work for you, just get rid of it. TD Canada here I come.

It took CIBC over an hour to register me to use the mobile banking app. I was passed around to five people and was on hold most of the time. They were polite. However, if this is the level of service from a sophisticated bank they should be ashamed. Maybe I'll register my Mastercard instead. I hope the app works better than the service I've received to date. Still on hold, 90 minutes and counting..... In reviewing the comments I'm not the first. CIBC don't ask me to email you, call me and fix your problems.

Went out and bought an nfc sim card just for this. Have not been able to successfully pay with this app. Will keep trying more places. I hope i didn't waste 15 bux.

I'm super stoked to get this running on my S7 Edge, but for now I'm stuck at a loading screen. I love the fact that it doesn't auto logout also! I hate having to unlock my phone twice to use RBCs app. But at least RBC is working.

If it's too difficult to have a text message sent, I have little faith that the usability and reliability of this app will work either! 2/24/16: As per your request to send an email promising a call back to resolve this issue, I thought I'd let you know that I've been waiting over a week for a call back from tech support! Support for this ap has definitely been AWOL.

This app needs to be updated to use debit cards as well as credit cards. Bank forcing you into having to use your credit card. In hopes that you'll forget to pay it off in a reasonable amount of time to continue the debt cycle.
