This collection takes place in 1991 on the Planet Ship, the command center of a worldwide protection agency called Skies Force, the guardian of peace in the world. In the ship, researchers have established "Birdonic Waves", a newly established modern technology which offers the subject superhuman abilities. The experiments called "J-Project" succeeded. Aya Odagiri, the director of the task, chose 5 elite Sky Force authorities from Planet to utilize this innovation. Ryu Tendo, among the Skies Pressure police officers, was successfully exposed to the Birdonic waves, making him the initial Jetman, the Red Hawk.
