About Dashcam Pro
Version 1.1.2
For Android Mobile and Tablet
This app records your journey in multiple video files format mp4. These files integrate GPS location data, which are stored in SQL database. GPS data is used when replaying video or when reviewing the route on MAP.
This app can capture normal photo, captures photo while recording (OS 4.3 and newer), automatically takes photo when you suddenly speed UP/DOWN with acceleration over the prior setting threshold (OS 4.3 and newer).
When reviewing video you can retrieve any frame of it by taking Snapshot.
All photos taken by this app contain Exif information (GPS data) if GPS is available. Exif data is used for locating photo on Google map later.
This app uses the way of looped recording on multiple video files, oldest file will be removed and replaced by newest file (for saving the space of device's storage)
When you start the app, the app will calculate the duration and number of video files for the queue to perform the looped recording. This calculation depends on free space storage and file size per minute (FSPM). FSPM is very different on different devices and with different video bit rate and varied from some Mega bytes to about 20 Mega bytes/minute (see statistics)
By this way of calculation we have a new recording session with the following parameters
Min number of files: 2
Max number of files: 6
All the files has the same duration of 1 to 10 minutes
Min time : 2x1=2 minutes and Max time : 6x10=60 minutes (an hour)
If your device does not have much space storage and you want to start new recording session, so you must remove all files of prior session to get free space storage
Layouts:
This Application supports two screen orientation layouts - Landscape and Portrait.
Automatically locks the current orientation when starting the recording process.
Managements:
1. Recording manager - main screen
2. Video Manager - replaying, viewing map, retrieving frame image, getting snapshot and send video
3. Image Manager - reviewing photos, zooming, cropping, viewing map, send photo
4. Snapshot Manager - frames retrieved from video file
5. Event Manager - photos on event speed up/down (acceleration)
Acceleration calculation
Use GPS speed to calculate acceleration
a = changes of speed per second (m/s²)
Settings: easily and simply
1. Measure unit of velocity: Km/h or MPH
2. Allowing audio recording or not
3. Acceleration threshold: 2.5 m/s² or 3.0 m/s² or 3.5 m/s²
Deleting Files:
The GPS data are attached at the video file if GPS device is turned ON and active. So You must delete video files by using rightly the context menu of Dashcam Pro, else you will leave GPS Data part without deleted from the database. (if you use Gallery to remove files, it can not remove GPS data part attached and if it happened the only way of repair is the uninstalling app and reinstalling it
Other Features:
Automatic detects battery level and automatic saves the last video if battery level is lower than 10%
Controls:
Turn flash (if device supports) ON/OFF
Choose front or back camera
Change brightness of screen if needed
Change setting
View Map while recording
Beginning in Android 6.0, users grant permissions to apps while the app is running, not when they install the app, while Lollipop (OS 5.0) or lower android versions the permissions are granted at installation.
Turn permissions on or off
You can change the permissions that app can access in the Main Settings App on your device at any time.
Use Camera2 API
