Just installed on my phone and have been badging parks we've visited. I wish there was a way to download the badged map to get a good visual of all parks we've visited. Has crashed a couple of times.

Back in May 2016 I said I would give this app 5

I've loved this app for a few years now, but these new Perks markers in the map are highly annoying. Is there any way to turn them off?

R70%
by R####:

Make sure you turn off background data if you don't have unlimited data. It will keep update its contents on cellular networks even it's not open.

Z70%

We love National Parks, this is a great way to see them all...sadly, not all are included.

T70%

Great program to track which parks you been too. And info on them. But doesn't have them all. Missing some great parks.

Z70%

Great app to track national parka

My husband and I have been using this app for a few months now, and really love it. We are currently on a multiple month road trip in our RV trying to see as many of the National Park units as possible. This app is very helpful in allowing us to keep track of where we've been. Just yesterday, it helped us find out about a fairly new unit, Reconstruction Era National Monument, that wasn't on the official NPS map I've been using to plan our journey. The only downsides we have found are that National Heritage Areas are not listed (yet), and you have to be extremely close (within a few feet) to the listed coordinates to get the "verified visitor" badge. We hope that in the future, this distance could be changed to a few miles.

Seems like it would be a great app... if only you can get map downloads to work for offline access. I downloaded the apps for individual parks (29 of them). So far, the only map download that did not fail was for Arches Natl. Park. All others get halfway and then fail. I'm ready to give up on it. I have a kick-ass wi-fi connection at home that never let's me down but the Chimani server must be awful. If I can't download the maps for offline activity then the apps are useless to me.

You have to know which category your park is in ( Historical park? Monument? Battlefield? ect, ) to locate the site on this app. It'd be nice if you could type in your park and it would pull it out of the correct category. I don't find this app very user friendly.

I love this app. So much content and it is free. We retired about 2 years ago and use this app for our travels in our motor home. It contains lots of info on the parks, etc and allows you to keep track of where we have been. Awesome!!!!

Trying to share news to FB and it won't post. I am enjoying the info in the app of places to visit and things to do.

Z70%

Excellent resource for discovering all sites managed by the NPS.

Seems like a great app so far. TONS of information. Great notifications for trails and roads that are closed.

L70%

Saving to my SD memory card isn't crucial. Without that, the app isn't all that useful

Z70%
by Z####:

Nicely done.

Z70%
by Z####:

Recently lost all visits and pins. There is no syncing in case of this, so if the file is corrupted or you use multiple devices, it wont duplicate. The check-in must occur at the pin which my not be near the HQ. This app has its uses for info, but not what I would rate as thoroughly useful.

Z70%
by Z####:

It seems to be on a timer to crash every 45 seconds. (When installing at midnight, I shut the app update that was still running over 9 hrs later.) We travel a lot and this app would be ideal to use. I'll give it another Day or Two before final decision.

K70%
by K####:

It's like having a 2016 NPS Unit Index in app form and more!... It's the most complete NPS unit list available in an app! Even better than the Eastern National Passport list because it lists ALL the units!!! I just wish it would be easier checking-in at some locations.

Z70%
by Z####:

Useful maps so far for all the parks. THANKS! Wish the My trip planning section was better then would give 5 stars, but you can't really plan parks on a route

Z70%
by Z####:

When you view the park maps you cannot read the text. Even when you zoom it just goes back to ultra small text. Back in September I question them and they commented it was a known bug and would be fixed. Not yet fixed. Am deleting on my S6

This is a great tool to exploring parks that I have on my list to visit. Lots of helpful details to plan my trips. Looking forward to using it once in the parks, and will further report usefulness in real-time/field use. But as a pre-visit tool, I am impressed so far.

A search function that would let you set a radius around you're current location and plot on the map. Need to fix size of map labels for features and contour elevation lines, way too small when zoomed in.

Z70%
by Z####:

First, there is no search function so you have to know how they classified the park or memorial or whatever. Second, it periodically updates data. Several times it updated for over 12 hours and was barely 20% complete. The last time it updated, it ran for over 18 hours and was maybe 80% complete so I deleted it.

Z70%
by Z####:

Everything the national park have to offer. Information on sites, hikes, able to see where you have been, or where you want to go.

Z70%

Families pack up and get together leave the phones... God bless
