LOLI Data Analytics

LOLI Data Analytics calculates a score on substances called Level of Regulation. This metric measures the ratio of the amount of negative regulation to the amount of positive regulation based on LOLI metadata. This value is always between 0 and 100. Larger values suggest that more regulations are associated with a substance. Since the score is very general, it does not characterize specifics regarding substance regulation. A substance could be heavily regulated in JAPAN because of environmental impact or it may be regulated by the EU because of carcinogenicity. For this reason, small differences in score are not significant and results are displayed only as circles of different sizes and color. It should also be noted that the score ranks substances relative to each other, not to an absolute. A substance with a score of 20 is associated with significantly less regulation than a substance with a score of 80. However this does not mean that a substance scoring 20 is safe.
