Chegg eReader – Read eBooks for Android
I'm not if I'm using the app correctly but I dont have any access to any of my etextbooks I bought but on my laptop they are available but on the app they are no where to be seen or even found in the library search tool.
Just downloaded the new version... It's the BEST on my phone or tab
Chegg, I love you guys to death for saving me so much on my school books, but why, WHY would you build your e-reader into a separate app? Everything should be incorporated into the main Chegg app! Also, on the menu of your mobile browser e-reader is a "download app" link that has me download Bookshelf. Huh?! I have to make a new account for this! Is Bookshelf even part of Chegg? Get your stuff organized, guys! Someone who isn't tech savvy would be pulling their hair over these things.
I very much use the website, but this app makes it impossible to use. I can't highlight anything when reading, making it impossible to save important context. Please fix!! No page numbers, format doesn't look nice. Many improvements need to happen fast!
Chapters just show up on one single page so there are no page numbers (for all of my books) making citations impossible. It'd be easier to have my money refunded and order ebooks from somewhere else with better formatting.
Well I just put it high review for the great feed back Chegg gives to it's customers. But I don't use this app mostly because I want to know if Chegg has voice over or Read aloud for people who have difficulty reading. And if so what app is it on?
Customer service says download the app but don't say it's broken! We can build better app in my school. This is horrible!
Customer service was very friendly, but the main reason I chose Chegg was to be able to "listen" to my textbook. I cannot do so, so the only reason for high marks is the customer service. Does Chegg have voice over or Read aloud option for people who have difficulty reading? If so, how and where can I find it?
This app is so unstable I'm afraid to breath to hard because it will crash. Better to use your browser.
I was very happy to see that you had a download option that didn't require constant Wi-Fi connection. The app has a few bugs; occasionally it takes me back to the cover without provocation but it's not often and it is easy enough to get back to my page. Overall, I've gotten work done and the app is easy to use. I like that it's separate from the main app! Being able to show that it was an eReader, separate from the study help and tutoring that Chegg does (plus airplane mode) was the decision maker in using my device on an open note quiz. Plus, being able to download on multiple devices is very nice!
The app will just keep crashing. I have an s7 and whenever I open my Ebook, app crashes. I've tried multiple reinstallations and restarted device still the app crashes. Look at the rating of the app...cmon chegg step it up...
If you're going to make an app this crappy and half-assed, why even do it? I was excited to be able to study at work but the app is all but unusable, and super mobile-unfriendly.
It won't even allow me to log in using my facebook account. I can get on the regular Chegg app with no problem but apparently my account doesn't exist on this app. That's unfortunate bc it would be helpful to read on my tablet than laptop.
Everytime I try to read my book that I purchased, it keeps pulling up the message that says "unfortunately Chegg eReader has stopped" and has me exited out.
This app is absolutely useless. The new eBooks are so much worse all together and this app is the icing on the cake. Avoid Chegg eBooks.
I am giving this one star because the app is useless if my book crashes and I basically can't read my book.
Why can't i download tjis to my laptop? If i log on with my credentials i should be able to resad my book, the ebook is cheaper but whats the use if i can only read from my small phone
Why the f*** would you not include page numbers for the chapters!? That is literally the most important and simplest thing to include. You are lucky you are even getting 2 stars.
Hey Chegg, thank you for helping me save money on my textbooks, but I keep having an issue with the e-reader app closing unexpectedly. I would really appreciate if this was fix. I would totally boost my rating, if so.
It tells me that my Facebook account does not exist yet that is exactly what I used to rent my book
The app crashes every time I try to open a textbook or sometimes when I'm just in the middle of reading
Doesn't load my textbook, or will load and continuously reload.
Extremely slow, lags on every page. A waste of space.
This app is the only way I can read my book outside of home but I can't even use the app because it never starts/loads/opens.
Won't let me even log in to the app I agree why not have this in one all inclusive app
I ordered an ebook and the e-reader doesn't display the page numbers, which makes it hard to navigate through the book. Please add page numbers!
So far so good with my eTextbook :) If anything comes up, I'll be back with a different review.
Force closes. Cant even open it, therefore i cant read the ****ing book.
Slow and doesn't load.
Library not loading book from Chegg site.
I really like Chegg but whats up with this app, i cant read my ebook at all
Can't use the app because it won't even let me sign in.
Library doesn't update.
Not all pages load. App skips pages!
It doesn't let me sign in.
I can't open the book
Glitch
Horrible. The library will not update. You try to get to and it doesn't work. The support article just takes you to the website and gives you no information. I would like to be able to highlight and bookmark on my tablet in class like I can on my computer at home but its impossible I can't even do it through the browser. Also if you try their contact us and send an email you get a failure to deliver message.
Library won't update. App support is limited to a list of generic troubleshooting suggestions. Chegg recommends reading ebooks through browser, which defeats purpose of the app. Same problem on Nexus 5x and Lenovo Yoga Book.

Every page has to load and it's presentation is terrible. C'mon Chegg, your company is better than this.
