Excellent app. I would love to have to option to cast to Chromecast so I can cook and see the videos on a giant TV! Will give 5 stars if you add this feature. Can't wait for my Joule to show up in another month hopefully!

N70%
by N####:

Why is this not a feature? You're telling me that nearly all the recipes from ChefSteps are indexed with video, but I can't tag them as a favorite so I can find it later? Kinda makes the usefulness of this app a 2/10. Beautiful app, but there no reason for me to use this over my computer.

Love the concept n content.... but app keeps shutting down.... tried it with my friend's phone n still same problem.... could u look into it?

It's good but having the option to save recipes would make it better. I like to browse and being able to save something for later instead of trying to remember would make me change my rating.

This app looks good but the performance is slow and it lags too much. A friend has his on iOS and it doesn't lag nor is it slow. Kindly find a way to improve the performance of this application and the design principles seem like it was ported from iOS app. Please do better

Just got the premium subscription for 24 bucks and then found this app. It does a very good job for mobile recipes. My only grievances are the app doesn't work in landscape mode (which is a pain when viewing the embedded videos). Also, an embedded browser is used when clicking links instead of the default browser? Not sure if it's my old nexus 5 or the app, but scrolling seems to lag which doesn't seem to happen in other apps. Lastly, this doesn't seem to get my favorited recipes on the website.

N70%
by N####:

Being a faithful Chefsteps follower from the early days I love the idea of this app. The design looks slick as long as you don't open internal links. Clicking on some of them crashes the app, so it has to be fixed. Other things look fab to me. Xperia Z3.

by F####:

An ugly iOS port. Won't even run in landscape on my tablet, goes to portrait mode. Doesn't allow me to save recipes or use any of the premium features I pay for on the main site. ChefSteps gets five stars - this app gets one.

N70%
by N####:

Most of the complaints I see are pretty whiny, no landscape mode etc....then it gets one star...come on...I have it on my Android tablet and it is fine. Sheesh remember books people??? And the plastic thing to hold it up so you could keep the page open??? This is a great app for food geeks. For the metric complainers...a. Digital scale is ten bucks and you'll love it trust me, toss your measuring cups and spoons...

N70%
by N####:

This app is great, but I really can't justify using it over the desktop site without access to my premium account. I think that those of us who paid for premium should have access to those features in the app. PLEASE add a sign in feature and I will happily give 5 stars. ChefSteps is my favorite website and I just want more streamlined access to it.

The app don't rotate to landscape view. In my tablet with keyboard attached, I need to hold it awkwardly in the vertical. No comfortable at all!

N70%
by N####:

I am a huge fan of Chefsteps, but this app could be much better. The app doesn't support landscape orientation and the design could make use of Google's Material Design guidelines a bit more.

N70%
by N####:

Not a bad app but scrolling is not smooth at all and this is on a Note 5. The jerky scrolling is really hard on the eyes.

W70%

There should be an in app option to save ur favour recipes within the app rather than having to share it. So if there is an option to save recipes or add to ur favourites within the app so that u can check it whenever u want it would just be amazing.

None of the recipes have been rated by users, which always is a red-flag. But it was after the 4th time it crashed, or led me to a "pay to see" recipe, I wised up and uninstalled it. Ah, relief!

Most Americans don't measure grams in the kitchen.. Nor do they cook in Celsius. Looked for a way to change the settings to accommodate my tastes but to no avail. Is there a way to change the settings to cups, teaspoons ?
