It doesn't tell you what plugins are vulnerable or what you can do about it. Why did the developers bother making this?

P70%
by P####:

The description of the latest update says that they have added more information about remediation steps. However, I see no significant difference. The app still provides no specific remediation info (vulnerable apps, for instance). Still scareware. Don't waste your time.

I wish, there were more end (ordinary) user security software from Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd. The power of Check Point is well known, and I see the lower scores of their other corporate Apps, only because of the fact, that they are based in Israel. Surly, everyone, who knows that such a Global protectors against all the threats for our THEISTIC Civilization, such as NSA, for example, are receiving their greatest Cyber Innovations exactly from Israeli - private or not - groups, should feel safe!

This app can gather as much if not more information from your emails and contacts etc. as anyone. Nobody can hack your bank account even with your numbers and sort code. Utter rubbish.

My Huawei Ascend Mate 2, with Android Lollipop 5.1, is vulnerable, according to this scan. UPDATE: Sunday August 9 - Last night Huawei pushed an upgrade to my Ascend Mate 2 phone, their "B320" update to Android Lollipop 5.1. Rerunning the Certifi-Gate Scanner showed that my phone NO LONGER has the vulnerability.

Just a ill-conceived ploy to get your information. Does nothing of value. Only told me what I already knew with no further details. The only thing it accomplished was assuring I will avoid anything to do with Check Point Software Technologies in the future.

X70%
by X####:

Works as described - was very relieved to see my phone was scanned and was not found to have the Certifi-gate vulnerability (Where!). Now to download it onto my other android devices, to check them for any vulnerabilities.

X70%
by X####:

Works as described. It does NOT protect you from the vulnerability only tells you if your device is vulnerable and that you should look for a upcoming patch from either your Phone's Vendor, Network Carrier or Google. Additionally you may wish to look to some 3rd party security solution if your that concerned. At present the best defense is to be smart about what you install and only install Google Play vetted apps and not Side-Load apps.

Looks like I'm in the clear after running app on a Nexus 5 with latest build & security updates [LMY48M]. This was expected given Google is now sending out security updates on a regular basis to Nexus devices. As some have stated, should it come up with a 'vulnerable' warning, there is no information informing the user which system apps you should remove or what action to take. In all fairness this app is only a tool to determine whether the device is vulnerable. Those that are can only hope that a patch is forthcoming from either the device's vendor, network carrier or Google [in the case of Nexus devices]. According to Google, the issue detailed by Check Point pertains to customisations OEMs make to Android devices and will only be fixed when they provide security updates which resolve the issue. In addition Google states that Nexus devices are not affected and no attempts to exploit this bug have been seen.

Z70%
by Z####:

Completely useless. From analysis of the app certain stock ROMs, like Touchwiz, will always show as vulnerable because of apps signed by the manufacturer, even if the app is not related to the vulnerability. It also searches for specific apps by signature but does not give any meaningful output for a user to protect themselves. Basically scareware.

Y70%
by Y####:

Installed fine on both. Moto-x green tick on current installed apps but samsung got a cert warning. App does not identify the cause of the vulnerability so would have to delete app by app and run it each time.. not that helpful really.

M70%
by M####:

Scareware. Your device is affected...an attacker can exploit... No information about how, why, or what to do next. Removing this app.

S70%
by S####:

Useless without saying what or where the (so called) vulnerability(s) is/are located. Scareware?

Z70%

Doesn't tell you which system apps you should remove. SO useless

Hi, This app tells you that your device is affected by Certifi-gate vulnerabilities, so as I understood it we have to contact the device manufacturer or mobile carrier for a security update!!! I checked and there is not security update release :( This looks like a advert-ware. Br,

Some people point out - "This app has access to your data, too". Those people don't seem to understand the purpose of this app at all. First, Check Point Software is an *actual* security company. This isn't put out by some zero-day publisher. Second, you don't need to leave this app installed after you run it, and it doesn't require wifi to run. If you honestly think it's somehow stealing your data, don't install it. If, however, you're just mildly paranoid instead of a conspiracy theorist, turn off wifi, run the app, then uninstall it before you run it. It's a great app developed to help identify a specific security issue.

Z70%
by Z####:

This SW acts like a common scam, even though it is reported to be legitimate; it tells you your device is vulnerable, does not say which application or files is the problem, and then offers to sell more of their security software. Given that most android devices are vulnerable to the problem, this does not give any extra or useful information.

Thank you for the latest update. Having the details after the scan is much more helpful. Still wish I could just leave an email to get updates and that phone number wasn't required, but helpful nonetheless. I won't be requesting more details until phone number field is optional.
