ZoneAlarm Capsule

Now an excellent security suite & much needed. This version (0.96.6/May-16 installed in a Samsung S6 + Android V6) seems to have fixed recent VPN & networking issues. Excellent GUI & YouTube-type info/help as before. I have re-enabled my annual subscription. Well done ZoneAlarm; now don't break what is now a good product!

I use ZA on my laptop and it is PERFECT. This capsule is unreliable. Keeps connecting and disconnecting, and keeping my internet from working. This app needs MUCH more work before it makes the grade. I'm just so sorry I paid for a yearly subscription before trying it out. I have uninstalled it. How can I get a refund? I've only had it a few days.

The implementation is lacking. Tue VPN is the perfect solution but it fails regularly for extended periods of time. It also randomly shuts down. Fix that and I will love this app.

First, every time I turned on my phone, I had a notice that I wasn't protected. There was an on/off switch shown which I turned on. It turned off by itself and showed something about "come back later". I uninstalled and reinstalled and now get a notice that it doesn't support IPv something or other and takes me to a page to change it. All options on that page are grayed out. T-Mobile and HTC One M8. This was a free "enhancement" to my purchase of ZoneAlarm Extreme Security. I also sent a bug report to developer through the app itself before uninstalling it. Maybe they'll reply.

I have used Zonealarm on my PC for about 6 or more years and as long as i don't change the settings it works fine, therefore i felt this would be an awesome app for my phone as well. I couldn't have been more wrong. So much has gone wrong with my phone since I've installed this app i feel as if i installed a virus. I can't send text messages, protected apps won't work right, calls drop, and my biggest issue is that i paid for a yearly subscription and now have to uninstal the program to get my phone to work

Running on Remix Mini v 2.0.206 with Android 5.1 Everything seems to be working fine. On the 7 day free trial.

Good, but takes a while to find which apps to let pass and which ones not to.

Update, the app has become unreliable. I often have to switch it off due to no internet connectivity errors. A bit like Dillbert's Mordac where you get security through non functionality. I like it when it works, I just never know when that will be. I am an annual paid subscriber so I find this quite irritating.

There appears to be a problem with Capsule and the Marshmallow upgrade. Since installing Marshmallow, Capsule keeps reporting "No Internet connectivity" although Internet is connected. (Previous 5-star review; still true, minus current problem - Extremely easy to use and doesn't weigh your phone down. Customer service is also top notch.)

This app is a great idea and it has some excellent features. A pity it doesn't actually work! ZoneAlarm Capsule is pretty much disabled most of the time now - this is necessary so I can actually use the Internet and my apps (especially apps like Google Play Store, Gmail, Google Play Movies & TV). Just less than 48h as I've purchased the extreme version of zonealarm with high expectations, my hopes are turning into nightmare as my main pc, Wich has windows 10 installed on keep rebooting after 5 min with a stange error msg: KERMEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. It seems to be ok on my laptop (windows 8) and my kids desktop (windows7). I will may have to unistall this product on all my devices if checkpoint keeps hijacking my main pc. So sad this evening

Enabling VPN pretty much disables everything, no data connection so no websites or browsing, no cloud connection for streaming (although YouTube is by default configured to allow access through the VPN in the settings). Have always like Zonealarm on the PC but this is disappointing Support ticket submitted, hopefully it can be cleared up or improved. Rating to be updated with results of suppor ticket. .

Goes offline when tablet sleeps and takes a while to come back on line, but idea is great, please fix bugs and I will rate it 5 stars

App goes off too often.

Installed this app at the end of November. Worked well until about 3 weeks ago, then it stopped my phone from having any Internet access: apps, chrome, emails, everything is blocked. Several emails to and from Capsule support at ZoneAlarm were to no avail: their advice was to either change location (tried several, one worked for a few days and then same problem started again) or to uninstall and reinstall the app (tried as well, no change). I have now requested a refund from ZoneAlarm...

Ok now it finally says i paid a week later.zone alrm support told me there was a bug sign out and sign in again. Install uninstall.. so i did those things finally it recognized i paid. But still won't work. I have a feeling i will pay for a month of no service.

Just started the 7 day trial. Not sure if support is an option after the trial, but don't see it yet? Also, somehow it registered me with an email account that I no longer use, but is still one of the active accounts on my phone. Can this be changed, or do I uninstall & reinstall the app? Second day into the subscription, I cancelled it due to too many disconnects and reconnects, about every 10 seconds. I would gladly pay $2.00 per month for security, but it should work extremely well!

I had to shut down the app so I could rate it. Causes play store to time out as well as Google voice to not connect. Gave it a fair shot but had to disable so often that it essentially became useless. I've decided to uninstall although I still use ZoneAlarm on the PC

I downloaded the paid version on my computer and as a bonus it included phone protection. I activated the app on my phone yesterday and now every time I try to send a text it fails unless I disconnect the VPN first. I am also getting multiple duplicate texts from friends when VPN is connected. My phone is running super slow now too. Am I just missing a simple setting to make it not mess with myth texts?

ZA Capsule/Google has been double billing me. since I installed the app in July of 2015. ZoneAlarm of course was of absolutely no help which is typical of ZoneAlarm customer support! ZoneAlarm says the issue was it Google Play problem Google Play said the issue was a ZoneAlarm problem. as it turns out it was both. after 7 telephone calls to Google and numerous telephone calls to ZoneAlarm, Google agent Jeff got the situation corrected and issued a complete refund for the overbilling, however even though the zone capsule is active the app says my account has expired even though it is paid through December 19th 2015 I have been a ZoneAlarm customer for years however I am reconsidering remaining zone alarm customer! I urge caution to anyone using zone capsule or ZoneAlarm extreme security suite! I will escalate this issue to Google headquarters and ZoneAlarm!

I used this on a PC for years and only stopped due to cost. Four stars* only because it only seems to operate in portrait mode and I use my Lenovo s6000 almost always in landscape, so it appears to be aimed more at 'phone users. Update: Keeps stopping and I am frequently prompted to 'tap to start' which is inconvenient. Now it is preventing any access to the internet or email. Contacted ZA whose response was simply to uninstall and cancel the subscription. VERY disappointed - now one star.

App works most of the time, but has trouble telling whether phone is on data or WiFi. Often I have to close the app and restart it to get it to work. Lately the app has taken to showing two icons-the key (which shows connection) and the zone alarm symbol telling me there is no connection. This is unacceptable for a $15 app.

Please verify your Google account. I have verified account of my google still saying this.

Needed something for safety on hotspots and I was using a free antivirus but I couldn’t stand all the popups. Thanks for making it without any ads or bullshit.

Very good application that does what is says it will do. Doesn’t slow me down. Doesn’t bother me with pop ups or ads. Just keeps me safe and private.

Could not place an outgoing call to anyone once installed, it kept hanging up. I have ZoneAlarm as my home computer protection for over 10 years now and like the program. This product is for each piece of equipment and does not have multiple license for one price. I did not find very user friendly. Just really disappointed.

Ineffective most of the time. Either does not comnect or else prevents all traffic. NO help or support from ZoneAlarm. SORRY I subscribed because of good experience with ZA on pc. For me Capsule is waste of time, effort and money.

This is a great app from a company i have trusted for 15 years but it is missing the thing i have always loved zone alarm for, the firewalls ability to stop programs from accessing the Internet if i don't want them too. That is what the original zone alarm for pcs was and the reason i have been a loyal customer for 15 years. The problem is that i can't use capsule and 'no root firewall' together so if i use capsule, all my apps can phone home whenever they like. Currently uninstalled till it improves

i use public wifi all the time because i’m almost always away from my apartment and i really like that it keeps me safe on public wifi. you never know who is at the next table…

I have paid for 1 year license but it doesn't work. It disconnect my internet i couldn't do anything unless i turn it off

I’ve used ZA for years without any trouble. Was looking for a solution for my phone. Glad I have one.

App turns itself off with message saying APN needs to be set to IPV4/IPV6. But my APN is already set for that. Waste of $20. Bought this because the desktop version is so good.

Ive been waiting for ZoneAlarm to dip its feet into the Android Market...Ive been a user of thete software four years ..... Unfortunately after paying fo zonealarm and using 7'day trial rhis app is useless....I have contacted this 3rd party company after contacting zonealarm ..Still no help....Sent another E~mail Im sure this is a scam

It is not free to use for seven days must pay first, does not have a scan feature, has the ability to block ads but sadly doesn't block ads or countries with known criminal activities with hacking as we surf like a no root firewall does in the app store. It's a virtual private network and you can surf anonymously so be prepared for possible high battery consumption. Update will not stay running.

Same problem as Paul 01.01.16: Blocked a fraudulent website and lost all internet and email access on an S6000. Uninstalled twice, have used on PC for years, maybe tablets not Checkpoints forte.

Cool. I didn’t know so many apps track personal stuff like my contacts and my location. Crazy how much stuff people know about you online…glad they know less now.

I subscribed to Zone Alarm Capsule, but it requires me to login. After entering my Google credential, it say that My subscription is invalid. Pls help to check.

Can't turn the VPN off without disabling everything? A Widget for the VPN connection would be great.

USB tethering is not possible, when Privacy protection is ON. So, I have to keep ZA Capsule turned off many times.
