Craftsman Smart Garage Door for Android
This app sucks big-time! Does not let me install my hub because it tells me this is already allocated to another account. Ridiculous!
Good app can you add android wear support? I know you support apple watch. What about the android user's who have smart watches please add android wear support in your next update thanks for taking the time to read this
It does what it says - I can open the app, tell if my doors or open or closed and then open or close them from anywhere. However, I wish this was directly compatible with IFTTT so I could easily make an applet to automatically open my garage door as I'm pulling into my driveway. From what I've been looking up, I should have purchased a Chamberlain garage door, and used their MyQ app instead.
Cant connect the 11 digit numbers on the garage moter with the app. Requested help by calling but had really poor service.
Really... Changed your messaging to all upper case (CAPITAL LETTERS), very, very annoying. Please change back
I was wondering if you have plans to integrate the Craftsman Smart Garage Door service with IFTTT (If This Then That)? Doing so would allow Android users to create IFTTT applets that would facilitate voice command triggering via the Google Assistant. In other words, I could say "OK Google, open my garage door" to my Google Pixel phone.
Installed the garage door opener today (Craftsman) and it had the AssureLink kit. After I got the opener working properly, I installed this app on my smartphone and it works very well. Like another user said, though, the screen is rather sparse. It will tell you the Door has been UP for so long, or DOWN for so long, and if you don't exit the app you may accidentally open or close the door putting phone in your pocket. Overall, it's nice, though, and allows you to get notifications when door opens or closes. You can set up schedules, etc as well. Big thing is, that if you are on your way to work, or at the airport, ready to board your flight, you can know instantly if you left the door up, and close it if you did.
I just installed the opener and activated the app. It was a simple app to get started and it works just fine. It's a great option while being away from home or even tucked into bed at night. One thing I find bothersome is that there isn't any kind of confirmation asking if I really want to open or close the door. It just happens If I acidentally brush across the door icon. I don't unknowingly want to open it as I am putting the phone back into my pocket after checking the door.
It's OK. It opens and closes the garage door. It would be much better if it had an open/close widget for my home screen. And seriously? No support for Google Home/Assistant, or at the very least IFTTT? No way to integrate it into my home automation? I should have bought a Chamberlain.
Update 2-9-17. New version just fine, no problem. Does exactly what it's supposed to IF you do a little experimenting & set it up properly. You can set password or no password; you can set up alerts for open or close or both; you can control opening & closing. I get very quick response as well. The gizmo is 30 yards from the door it controls. No problem with MotoX phone. Highly recommended!
Not sure why so many bad reviews, unless it is user error and the people are rating it bad because they have no technical knowledge. Either way, I've waited a year before posting what my experience is with this garage opener app and it has not let me down. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because sometimes it is too slow and will error out when too many attempts are made, however force closing and re-opening the app will fix the problem every time. Thanks Craftsman for a good product, please keep improving it.
Works great. Love notification if dior left open. Let my buddy in to get tools while I was at work, awesome feature. Love it and it works every time
I would love to recommend the app, however, it will not allow me to create an account. I contacted Craftsman, and the customer service rep told me that they were having problems with the app. I initially thought that it was my phone.
It should notify me when the door is open but it doesn't from a certain time window but it does work when set to notify at all times of day .designers should make the app better
App will not let me open an account on my phone. all fields are blank and will not accept entries. Why is Sears going broke?
Easy to install Works as expected. Notifications are a little annoying but its better than not.
Alerts do not work. That is the main reason i purchased the product. Please update the app. Same issue on android and ipad
I love this app. I never have issues with it. I have had this app for a long time.
I like to be able to check the door status and control the door.
Why do I have to enter my garage door pin
DOESN'T WORK REALLY REALLY BAD APP.....

Really want to like the app. My experience with notifications has been hit and miss. Have had a garage door left open overnight with no notifications despite having an alert set up. I was excited to see the new feature to set a schedule to close automatically at a time of day. My complaint with this is that I set up a notification, but it sends me a notification every time it runs. But I don't care if it simply runs the [daily] schedule, I want to know if it actually did something. Don't notify me if the schedule ran to close the door and it was already closed - notify me if it truly closed the door. Telling me that the schedule ran every day does me no good. I'd also like the ability to set a notification sound for the app, so that I hear a particular sound I know that it's for my garage door. OK app in general, but these days it should have a lot more bells and whistles. I do appreciate that they are releasing updates to show that the app isn't "dead". But they really need to step up their game.
If you want to open and close your garage from you phone it does it well, but if you want to do anything else you can't. It has not intagration with anything I could find, no echo support, no Google assistant support, not ifttt support, nothing. It could be a lot better
I have been using this app for several months. With the last update we are no longer receiving notifications when the door is opening or closing. The send test option is also not working. When this is fixed I will update my review.
I installed this Garage Door opener in the summer of 2016. It did take some time to setup; however, I haven't experienced any issues with the App or problems with opener.
Would be great if it integrated with other smarthome products like IFTTT and SmartThings - Open the garage door automatically when I get home, for instance.
App stinks get with it smartthings integration is mandatory
This app has saved me lots of trouble. It's not an app I want, it's an app I need.
Couldn't see the fields to sign up for the service. What a disappointment!
You now have the perfect app.
Tried to set up new account, but the description for the set up information is black same as background color.
Now they need to get on board with IFTTT
5 star review for now. Just installed today. I was hesitant because of the people giving bad reviews. After some investigation it appears that people are trying to use their garage door opener serial number in the app. It won't work because it is too long. You are supposed to use the 10 digit serial number from there assure link hub you plug into the router. Do this and you should be good.
Does a great job at remotely opening and closing garage door. With Google Home and Amazon Echo out now I would be thrilled to see some interesting with voice commands. Would also be useful for handsfree opening of garage door while pulling into garage on bike via Bluetooth headphone/microphone.
would love to see macros that close doors automatically at a set time. i.e. 10:00 pm nightly. Currently Assurelink does not have any capabilities with IFTTT. Other Chamberlin made products do. Please add that functionality
Will give 5 stars if the history report you showed how the door was opened. Buy keypad, phone, remote 1 remote 2. Why can't the notification sounds be something we can modify and not generic system notification. Did I get an email or did my garage open?
I really like this garage door opener and the app. Being able to open the garage when I'm not home has been incredibly useful. Opener even has battery backup. Garage opens during power outage.
The garage door opener was easy to install, the internet link was easy to hook up, and the app was easy to install and use. The door opens instantly.

App is ok. Should've done my research. Even though the Craftsman garage door opener is made by Chamberlain, Assurlink is miles behind MyQ intergration and functionality. If you don't already have the Assurlink garage or gateway don't bother, get a Chamberlain and save yourself the headache
