Birdlife of New Zealand Free for Android
I have not been able to identify a bird I've seen on any apps so frustrating
Some of the distribution data could be updated. The tui is found in the north island too, notably in Auckland city. Overall s useful resource.
If sound of the name could be inculded. Then this app would be reeealy perfect!
All New Zealanders should have this app on their phones.
Unfortunately there are not many species in this app. Just over 30 which is not even a tenth of the species possible!
Fantastic
An excellent app giving a good explanation of the various birds, especially the calls where they have been recorded. The Bugs and Reptiles equally impressive apps. This is not meant to be an extensive coverage but covers the creatures very well. Well done Upside Kiwi.
Brilliant. Loads of info and really easy to use with great pics. Only thing missing for me is ability to tick off the birds when you've seen one. Cheers
Very comprehensive. Love it
As a visitor to NZ but interested in the bird life I found this app to both informative and easy to use. No books to carry. Spot the bird. Open the app. Get the info. Excellent.
Missing few birds, where are the Gannets from Cape Kidnappers?
Please add distribution map and Checklist to keep a record of sightings. Also more birds would be great. Thanks for great app.
Very basic, doesn't even show common birds like oyster catcher or even a sea gull.
If this is authorized, its by a sorry bunch
This is a really great app. Would give it six stars
Not many birds.
Great app to take in the Bush
Love it!
Mainly I want to play the bird calls not hear the name, so put that at the top. Also I want to see a list of larger pics to do an ID, not little useless thumbnails. And want to be able to reorder or group by type, size, etc - alphabetical is limiting. And not many birds on this little list!
Not all the rare or endangered birds are shown
Awesome app for anyone wanting to learn about NZ birds, great pictures and really intresting information, so handy having all this info in a app
Love our native birds its a good way for people to learn more about our native birds awesome
This app is great because it has loads of information and the bird calls.
Would love to see something on the swamp harrier. Otherwise a good app.
Weak, does not show the birds we are seeing every day of our 1 month trip!
Great job
Brilliant
Its free who can complain
Good
Great covers lots
Good info, well written and easy to follow, pictures are awesome and easy to see, only thing was a little bit off was pronunciation of Maori words, but thats ok. Well done over all! :-)
Nice educational app to learn about the different species . My only complaint is the text size is a little too small and should be made adjustable to suit the viewer.
Nice
Good information on the species it covers, but could do with expanding.
All New Zealanders should have this app on their phones.
Nice app for identifying NZ birds
Maybe its the places I visit, but an app that helps me recognize birds and song is what I want. This is a really welcome effort but like others around, somewhat sparse on coverage. Obvious holes to me: Grey Warbler Fernbird Brown Creeper Kakariki Welcome swallow Tomtit Robins silvereyes kingfisher cuckoos pipit pukeko Coastal birds in general (shags, terns, gulls, petrels, shearwaters) Nice to have whiteheads Bittern (particularly call) scaup
