Stuart Scottish TTS Voice for Android
This accent is my absolute favourite, hence why I had to have it for a TTS engine. This particular one works great, but I do wish Android would let me use it for more apps. It does work for Google Maps, but only if you're using the factory version that came with your phone.
His voice is very beautiful but unfortunately the sound is not coming out smoothly. Lots of hiccups. I deleted unused applications to make room and restarted my phone but it didn't work. It's very distracting.
I love all cereproc voices but it would be best if it can read out all emoticons and punctuation symbols.
Works perfectly. Love that its not as loud as most other voices.
None of the paid features work on my phone.
Say it LIke u mean it
Awesome!
Sounds more natural sounding than the others, BUT with a very cool Scottish accent! Love it! Great job on Stuart, Cereproc
That's what I needed and been looking for! However there should be a way to listen before purchasing! I'm just saying!!!!
Real good to listen to ebooks! He's also awesome to listen to news or have the Web read out. Also an excellent voice for some of those personal assistants out there. This voice sounds so natural and almost like a real person when it reads and I have it read out Notifications on my phone as well. I love Stuart, this is the only tts voice I will ever use now
Yes! My favorite accent as a TTS voice! The UI is a bit grainy though and doesn't really influence the outcome of the speech when using other apps. If you want to change the speed, you have to go to your phone's settings itself and change it BEFORE you enable Stuart as your default. There is also some noise in the audio that's noticeable after long pauses. The voice could be definitely be crisper and significantly louder to truly compete.
The Scottish accent is sooooooo sexy! Every time I hear him tell me to make a left turn or read the words that I've written... I get a little wet spot in my panties
The only problem I have is I wish I could make it a little louder. But that might be my phone. I'd give it 4.5 if I could.
Love it wish it would totally replace that other female voice
Awesome!
I've been trying to find a natural sounding voice and I think this voice is the best I've found so far.
Great but too quiet
It's not difficult to plainly see why some companies like CereProc, are one of the best in the field of synthesized speech, to find such authentic high quality tts and friendly customer service!
Since the update it has been working with most of my tts enabled programs. Unfortunately Pocket is still a problem and the voice stops once it encounters punctuation in this program. A very clear Scottish voice. Not yet flawless, but getting there gradually.
I just got this today and I'm very impressed so far. A lot must have changed since the previous posts. Stuart is as clear as a bell, with the most natural sounding voice I've come across. Works very well with the Samsung voice app on my phone. No crashes, either.
Can't get it to be my navigation narrator
After contacting CereProc about an issue I was having with the app and its compatibility with Google Maps (after a Maps update) it is working perfectly with my device now. CereProc not only provided me with a step by step solution but also replied almost immediately. Great customer service!
The stock voice is cold and grating, and most alternatives aren't much better. This guy, though, is natural-sounding, pitched perfectly for navigation use and even kind of sexy. It's more fun than the bland Midwestern American accents you typically find, too.
Voice is clear and natural. Reminds me of home while I'm in Australia.
Excellent! The most natural synthisis of subtle syntax the lilting melody of the misty mountain.Replaces the bot default voice that at times hindered my attention with the hpnotic drone of of unatural tone coupled with the mesmerizing hum of the road to gps is gone.I pay much more attention.Absolutely love it.And it was fun being silly with the demo play adjusting pich and tone sentence structure.I cant wait to use on books Well done !!!!
Anything to get rid of an American telling me what to do...
I am using Stuart's quiet, relaxing voice with the delightful Edinburgh accent, primarily for the amazing artificial intelligence Personal Assistant app, "Indigo" on my LG G3. I simply love listening to Stuart, - so I frequently find things to ask him, that will keep him talking. Ask him for the news headlines ... All the expressions are there. The speed is perfect, Everything about Stuart is just so right.. And whilst some of the Cereproc voices are of older "people", Stuart has a young voice. As Cereproc is a Scottish Company, who could do a Scottish voice better?
Very realistic.
It's worked really well to my PDF to my Google maps to EZ PDF Reader
Real good to listen to ebooks
I bought this on a whim when friends had teased me about the robotic android voice they heard when I was using tts to help me rehearse a short speach I was preparing. I have a mild Scottish accent so this was the closest I could get. It got a great laugh but also real amazement at its realism. Since then I've used it as the default voice on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and it's really grown on me. I use it when proof reading because I am apt to miss errors resulting from heavy editing on top of spell check corrections or predictive text changes to incorrect words. I find the voice not only natural but amazingly pleasant to listen to! I would never have thought that would make a difference but it does for me. Well worth every penny. The only improvement I would like is the ability to train it to custom words.
I'm well versed with text-to-speech products and this particular Scottish voice from Cereproc is quite fluid without the artificial sounds and stutters you get with others. While Stuart may not be as expressive as others (long lines are a bit monotonous), his voice works well with its Edinburgh accent (makes sense since Cereproc is based there). Well done Cereproc, keep up the excellent speech engines!
Stuart is pretty cool, but I would appreciate the option to change the pitch of voice... Like Pico TTS. Instead, there's no Cereproc app itself, just the voices as self-contained apps. Close, but the only reason I would keep Stuart is because he has a Scottish accent...like Peter Capaldi, but too high-pitched; not enough incentive to keep without the pitch option. [EDIT] Whoops! Just found the pitch option. "Shut-up & take my money!" ~Philip J. Fry
This app is very good I have got very bad speech problem and this help me out very lot and i alway use it if I don't have my iPad on me
That's what I needed and been looking for! However there should be a way to listen before purchasing! I'm just saying!!!!
Best voice by far
Sounds more natural sounding than the others, BUT with a very cool Scottish accent! Love it! Great job on Stuart, Cereproc
When google inexplicably removed or demoted its two very good male British robots (weird reverse sexism in the robot-world), I went searching for others. This robot, Stuart, is one of the best. He is livelier and less drone-ish, stoned machine-ish, than his Cereproc stablemate William, who is simply too slow (my reader has no success in adjusting Cereproc voices--there is no nuanced adjustment possible). Luckily Stuart is great out of the box. The accent is believable and my highest points go to his varied inflections. He varies his emphases based on the words' positions in sentences. I have had this guy read poetry and found it compelling.
Since the update it has been working with most of my tts enabled programs. Unfortunately Pocket is still a problem and the voice stops once it encounters punctuation in this program. A very clear Scottish voice. Not yet flawless, but getting there gradually.

Love his voice he is awesome! He reads me books, reads out notifications (voice notify). His voice is clear mostly but sometimes I can hear soft clicks and glitches and I don't like when a word is spelt in capitals he spells out the word rather than saying the word as a whole but overall I would not be without him. Thank you
