About Caitlin Irish TTS Voice

CereProc has developed the world's most advanced text to speech technology. Our voices not only sound real, they have character, making them suitable for any application that requires speech output.

This voice can synthesize:
* Navigation directions from Scout while driving
* Accessibility information with Talkback
* Twitter, Facebook and newsfeeds with iHearNetwork
* Your favourite eBook from eBook reader apps
* Your SMS with apps like Handcent SMS or Drive Carefully
* and many other TTS-enabled apps

Please note that for some applications such as Scout, we recommend installing on a device with at least a 1GHz processor.

You can try the Caitlin voice for yourself, in the interactive demo on CereProc's homepage:

Caitlin is an awesome voice! I absolutely love her accent. You're literally hearing something that sounds as good as real life speech. Minor hiccups in pronouncing certain words. But her cadence is fantastic. William U.K. is now my 2nd favorite. Anyone else recommends another Cereproc TTS, I'm all ears.

Y70%
by Y####:

I hate that Gmaps uses its own voice. Caitlin is a classy, not overstated nor particularly localized accent. She's also a most gender-flexible voice, or handles menopause gracefully, and can speed up with clarity. If you use tts a lot, this is an excellent English voice to use. Irish lends to clear consonants, and differentiates vowels (if you can adjust to them).

N70%
by N####:

Won't handle large text files at all, just does nothing. Needs finer adjustment in the normal range, nobody wants or needs super slow/super fast, nor super low/high pitch

by N####:

This is a lovely voice for smartphones. It must have been updated as its working fine on my Note 4's (running lollipop & marshmallow) despite a review to the contrary.

N70%
by N####:

For some reason it no longer works on my Galaxy Note 4 with marshmallow. I get an error message saying not supported in the voice to text settings.

N70%
by N####:

Almost like IVONA. But it doesn't react to exclamation or question marks... Other than that it's amazing.

N70%
by N####:

App has aa spaz out if you turn the phone on its side. Locks up

Doesn't work on GMaps emailed Dev to refund still no response. Not cool. Don't recommend.

Makes your phone sound like F.R.I.D.A.Y.

Great voice, got it primarily to use with Google maps and can't get it to work.

It seems I missed it when looking through play market for a great TTS a couple of years ago - or maybe 'Caitlin' hadn't been here yet, back then - which is a shame, because it's awesome. It sounds natural and young, a great "universal" voice that suits pretty much anything: reading articles and fiction, using Google Now and map navigation and so on. 'Caitlin' is up there with 'Heather' on the sheer "pleasant to listen to"-meter, and is actually a bit better balanced (though the Scottish TTS still remains my favorite among Cereproc's stuff). As usual with Cereproc voices, I prefer to set it for a bit faster (1.05 - 1.15 of the initial speed) reading, and may fiddle with the pitch every now and then; but that's just personal preferences. Great job, great voice, you guys have made another awesome TTS that could've easily cost five times more, and would've still been worth the price. As it is, I'm glad to spend 1.5$ for quality like that (seriously, thank you for making it so affordable), easily one of my better play market purchases.

Devs wht not try to work with google and android so all of your fans can enjoy the wonderful work you've done. Right now I have tried everything except rolling my phone back to 4/14 KitKat because right now my phone will only allow me to use googles tts voices. Even with Caitlyn as my default tts. All I can hear is Google tts. Its pretty pointless to have a tts engine as good as cereproc and not be able to use it. Love and hugs. Plz fix

It is a beautiful voice, but with headphones you can hear it crackle and generally fuzzy. Also according to permission finders such as 'permission friendly apps' there is a hidden security permission that makes me worried: WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission. Three out of three separate tools said it asked for this while it's not in the list of permissions here. Needless to say I'm worried and cannot suggest issuing it until it's been addressed

I like Caitlin telling me what everyone is saying. Makes even the most annoying txt easier to listen to.

This voice worked great until last google maps update. The 2 women fought it out for while until Caitlin was dead. I will mourn her loss! Goodbye sweet girl!

I used this on Galaxy s5 (kitkat & lollipop) and it worked great. I just can't get it to work on Galaxy s7 (marshmallow). Not sure if it's the device or the OS giving me the problem. Tried various settings. I even tried changing the system language default to English UK. Still no good. Hopefully the developer will figure out a patch (assuming that I'm not setting it wrong)

Such a shame, this is excellently done and the most natural TTS voice I've ever come across. However, the sound quality is awful. There is clearly audible hissing, crackling and distortion in the audio. Please fix this.

C70%
by C####:

The voice is about the best I've heard, very natural. One thing that needs to be changed however (and this applies to all the CereProc language packs) is the voice speed adjustment. Fast and above is stupidly fast and the slow settings are ridiculously slow. It would be much more useful to have more intermediate speed settings between normal and fast and normal and slow.

B70%
by B####:

More natural than any other speech engine I've used. This particular voice is so nice that I actually had to stop using it. I'd really like to meet this person in real life. Wasn't there a movie about something like that? However, I'm also finding that it has some stability issues and doesn’t handle punctuation very well.

A cool voice. Some problems reading long texts, some static and strange sounds, but overall very good.

I've played with a lot of TTS voices, and cereproc really nails it with most of their voices. Caitlin is my favorite, I definitely recommend. I look forward to seeing future developments from them!

Hi I enjoy the voice a lot however Caitlin doesn't read emoticons which is a little disappointing... Will change to 5 stars if it's fixed or if there's a way

Sounds very nice and natural though it's still not perfect.

C70%

Any txt with actuall emoji it will not be read. But says "less than slash c" at the end. Google TTS didn't do this and I haven't changed anything else. Also as some else mentioned "hmm" is not said correctly but yolo and lol are. Apart from thst it could be perfect.
