About Adam US English TTS Voice

CereProc has developed the world's most advanced text to speech technology. Our voices not only sound real, they have character, making them suitable for any application that requires speech output.

This voice can synthesize:
* Navigation directions from Scout while driving
* Accessibility information with Talkback
* Twitter, Facebook and newsfeeds with iHearNetwork
* Your favourite eBook from eBook reader apps
* Your SMS with apps like Handcent SMS or Drive Carefully
* and many other TTS-enabled apps

Please note that for some applications such as Scout, we recommend installing on a device with at least a 1GHz processor.

You can try the Adam voice for yourself, in the interactive demo on CereProc's homepage:

Really wonderful, much better than stock standard android TTS. Used for listening to textbooks through e-book reader. Only issue (not sure if e-book app or this app) but it merges sentence with citations. E.g. no pause between sentences that end with .^12 citation. Very distracting. Otherwise wonderful. :D

N70%
by N####:

Cereproc voices are good but hopefully by the next updates all your tts will be able to read out emoticons and different currencies. Please make it happen. Good luck debelopers.

i'm inlove with adam's voice and i'm very proud to hear his voice every alerts on my phone. his sweet voice was soooo

Ivona voices much better. I wish they had a US male voice.

D70%
by D####:

Male voice. Favorite pitch over rest. Also, USA accent sort of neutral accent.

N70%
by N####:

Clear and natural

R70%
by R####:

I was just looking for a male voice for the maps app for navigation and this is what I needed. God that female voice is annoying. A male voice is more soothing while I'm driving. I only gave this 4 stars because I just purchased it but if I like it a month from now I'll give it one more star.

X70%
by X####:

Choppy and staccato. Avoid. Painful to listen to. Pales in comparison to amazon's IVONA (specifically Kendra in the US). I'm using Android 4.2.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S4.

by M####:

>>I can get as far as configuration but as soon as I try using tts i get " unfortunately Adam tts has stopped". I have an Asus infinity v. 4.1.1<< It seems that the error is a false one because the tts works anyway even after the message pops up. So now that it works I can say this is one of the best sounding voices I've come across. Adam does seem to skip over a couple syllables/ sounds every now and then which is annoying when using this to study. Also please incorporate a way to change pitch within the settings.

X70%
by X####:

It has some very odd intonation at unpredictable times - serious trouble after words ending in 't'. Needs a visible cursor badly. Really annoying to need to delete the sample text each and every time.

Google still uses it's default TTS.

Please we need update. I love adam's voice because it's real. But please let us do the editing like what svox has. But i love this app so much. Please we need improvement.

I'm going back to the Google voice, and I'm hoping I can my money back from Cereproc. The samples online sound nothing like what you get. I bought several different ones hoping one of them might be ok. I'm very disappointed.

C70%

I purchased this app and it is giving me this message : don't allow the user access . unless this issue is solved , I would give it 5 stars .

Bought this because I wanted Google talkback to read my kindle books to me. Every time I started the continuous reading mode the voice crashed and I had to restart my phone to get the voice working again. Very bummed because I really liked the way it sounded.

This is a very good app. I just hope the developer continues to support it with all new system updates are being released lately.

Up until my devices started running Lollipop, I had been using SVOX classic and the US English "Michael" voice for my TTS on all of my devices. SVOX hasn't been updated in years though and will not run on Lollipop. It was at that point that I discovered CereProc and this voice. The Adam voice sounds quite natural and while I was very satisfied with SVOX's Michael voice, I think that CereProc's Adam voice sounds just a bit more natural. I am only rating this app 4 stars though because it is missing a setting that SVOX had and it is a setting that I greatly miss. SVOX allowed for a volume setting specifically for their TTS voices. I had mine set at 160% because TTS voices generally play at a volume lower than the media, system or notifications volume. It would be great if CereProc could provide a way to separately adjust the volume of their TTS voices.

Did the update on my phone, refuse to do it on my tablet. WTF?

L70%
by L####:

Tone of the voice is good but... I wish they would improve the pronunciation and emphasis to produce a question instead of a statement. It would make the reading of a story more enjoyable.

A quality addition to the somewhat disappointing arena that is text to speech synthesizers.

Simple to install, hasnt caused issues like svox. This voice sounds like an Indian talking sometimes and sounds like it just woke up from sleep. But it works.

I can't give this app any rating. It wiped a lot of data upon installing. Some it very important varsity data and I may just loose credits for my degree. It is a mess app. I wouldn't recommend it.

Adam has a good clear voice, on the whole every voice is good. Which one you chose is a personal preference. Cereproc updates the apps on a regular basis. I am spoilt for choice-Adam, William, Jess and Jack. My thanks to Cereproc for all your outstanding apps.

The voice flow has been improved in this version. I no longer have the TTS voice change issues. It may be because of my recent upgrade to Android 4.1.2
