British Gas for Android
Rubbish app. Can't view current direct debit amount and when I try to change the amount always fails to save. Bet it'd work if I owed them money! ***update19/12/2016*** STILL can't update or view direct debit details.
Does what it says on the tin... I can keep track of my usage and check my bills, make payments, change my direct debit and give meter readings. Whenever I've tried to use the online chat function I always receive a message that all team members are busy, don't know if this actually works or not because I've never been able to test it properly as no one available.
The app is a great way to manage your account. However its slow loading up data and overrated in terms of what British Gas thinks it can do. They just need to man their call centres better!
What a dumb way to enter readings. A simple box to type in numbers is all I expect. Instead, there are crazy dials to spin. Why make life confusing!
What happened to My energy in your app? It's not showing any data at all.Account summary is working fine though. Happy with the service I get from British Gas and Electricity. Thanks for the apps which helps me to manage my house gas and Electricity.
It's good. I've been live with British Gas for 2 weeks + for combined supply yet this app say Gas is unavailable! Electricity is available but shows NOTHING. No usage no data nowt!. It has the capacity to be 5*. Please make it better!!
Takes 10 days to update account after placing meter numbers on the app.. very hard to track what u really owe them ££££... other than that, this app is ok for simple people. Just bugs me that its not updated straight after payments... please sort this then 5 * all day
The app is ok, the major issue that I really dislike is the fact that the current meter balances are ALWAYS incorrect. Seems though my meter updates every 1/2 hour why isn't the balance correct?
Other energy comp Apps are better. I haven't had a bill since July, though I have been submitting readings. Doesn't let me increase D/Debit to what I think I should pay. Some feedback from BG would be great!
Shocking customer service. They keep taking monthly payments twice and don't care when you try and sort these issues out....I'm off
rarely works, constantly getting errors where data can't be pulled, having to log in online to view my account. makes the app kind of pointless...
Piece of junk. Crashes almost every time I use it. My previous supplier (Ovo) had a great app, BG should take a look at that for inspiration. Maybe they could hire the same developers to create a decent app.
Pants app! Used to be able to adjust direct debits in now unable to. either does not let you save or imposes an unadjustable inflated monthly figure. For an app that is supposed to work in conjunction with a smart meter to enable you to decide and have control over this aspect it is shockingly poor (not fit for purpose) sort it out British Gas.
If u can ster clear of this app it takes ur payment of you but dosnt feed it to the meter so I have had 2 put in ven code twice now on gas and electric meter and even tho it takes payment of you it does not show up on your top up history I've started paying over phone now absolutely rubbish
Keeps telling me that my account is updating. The page just keeps updating and gets stuck on it. I have a smart meter and only my gas can be seen.
Easy to use on the move app. Obviously doesn't have all the facilities of going online. Only thing missing for me is having my solar power feed in available.
The latest update broke this app. It is forever updating account details with no end in site 15/12/2016: the latest update is still broken
They've clearly not bothered to follow any Material Design guidelines and it shows. Awkward UI and navigation. Usable, but urgently needs a UI replacement.
Called british gas about this but it's still not showing my electric is a smart meter can only top up my gas... getting fed up with not having the right information showing! .... seems they can't be bothered to send someone out to rectify either
Maybe,just maybe the app could be opened by using a 4 to 5 digit code instead of punching in email address and password everytime..... something to think about for later stage..... overall,happy with app ....
App isn't optimised for larger screen Android devices. Looks like it hasn't been updated for years and the functionality is very basic.
The update that has just happened was straightforward to use, but on my phone (admittedly a bit old now) was slow to get started. However, the booking part was clear and easy, and if it means everything happens on the right day within the correct time window, you can't really ask for more.
Won't let me log on with my Android Marshmallow tablet but works fine on my Android Marshmallow phone. Needs more work.
Absolute rubbish, the only thing that works is topping up. past topups, used vend codes, nothing like that works
Not a very polished app and bit unreliable. If bg want me to read the meter then app should be quicker and more reliable.
Just so much easier n quicker to submit my meter readings this way as I have to use the torch on my phone anyway cos it's so dark in the cupboard where my gas meter is so now i don't need to bother writing it on pen and paper then setting up my laptop to send email it's all done at once!! Super quick well done British Gas
It's a shame this app has now stopped working properly. This application has been a good app until now. I can no longer use this app which I think is a shame
Takes ages to update to smart meter readings, incorrect and slow statements. Often information isn't available "try again later". Great idea and nice idea just wish it worked!
Work's acceptably well.. Some times certain features are not available and it would also be better if we had a bill due date,it would also be good if we could put metre readings in separately, So your not submitting the same metre reading if your only sending your gas reading in first...
Since last update keeps stating we are having technical issues.
Keep getting an email a day after submitting readings saying there was an error please submit readings again. Not as easy as the eon app to use

I'd like to know when my next bill is due instead of having to estimate from the date of the last one. I find some time that it won't let you look at the direct debit until you send a meter reading then you get an email back saying thanks but we don't want one yet. It would be easier if they are set to the last day of every 3rd month. They seem quite random.
When I first got this app it did what I wanted ie top up from home. However lately I have had to del/reinstall twice due to not being able to log in. Cannot contact app designers so this is my way of telling them. Once sorted definitely give 5*
The comparison set up doesn't take into account we are economy 7 and have no gas. There should be a way of comparing us to electric only properties to give a clearer picture. One of the reasons we stay with British Gas is because of the app.
Two things. First, it would be useful if my app told me how much credit I have in real time. Second, I top up it doesn't show on the app until the meter updated which is useless if you need the manual top up code.
Used to be great now I can't even get in to look at my details. Was last emailed a bill on 18 November 2016 more than 3 months later haven't received anything. Just as well I'm nearly 600 quid in credit that should easily cover any bill. But hey I ain't been billed????
If I could give it a minus one star I would. Most definitely the worst app and Internet site of any of the big companies. When you email them to help with a problem they don't even respond. Poor app, poor service!

had smart meters installed. look great but don't work with this app or the smart meter provided by BG. The entire system has major bugs. Doesn't update or provide up to date accurate readings. Forget customer services they haven't a clue
