The MBTA Realtime T app tracks Boston's MBTA subway trains in realtime, accurately predicting when each train will arrive at your station. The app shows the location of each train on the line, as well as the estimated arrival time, down to the second, at each station. This works using sensors placed on the tracks - when a passing train triggers one of these sensors, MBTA Realtime T app is the first to know.
The app supports the Red, Orange, and Blue heavy rail lines. The Green Line is not supported, as the MBTA has not installed tracking technology on the Green Line trains (there is nothing app developers can do to get around this).

This app is designed pretty well, but unfortunately I needed an app that showed multiple arrival times for any given stop so that I can plan things at the very last moment and choose which ride I'd like to make it in time for.

Doesn't show the orange line train that I'm on or the train that just went by me in the other direction. "MBTA real time" USED to work. 12/9/14...MBTA Real time T Boston, still useless.

I would say this and catch the bus are must have apps for those traveling on the mbta, times for trains are really acurate. I highly recomend this app

I see 3-5 minutes off as well. Usually predicts trains arriving too early (Kendall). It misses some trains entirely. Good for late night though.

Orange line is not accurate, it might be off by one station. Outbound to forest it showed the train arriving at Chinatown as the train pulled into dtc

Once you learn how many minutes off it is, you can trust it, but mine is almost always about a minute and a half behind. Very nice interface however.

This used to be great. It's fading fast. First the blue line was wrong off and on, then wrong almost all the time. The orange line followed suit. It was wrong more often than right. Now nothing is correct most of the time. If you need to be on time, this is not the app for you. Sad because in the winter time you want to time your trip to the train station properly. You can no longer use this app for that.
