Celtx Script

I used this app often and enjoyed being able to edit my screenplays on the go. However, I opened a script recently before noticing that it had not yet synced and was a much older save. It saved immediately upon opening, saving over the more current version and losing days of work. I've been told I have to pay to recover my work. I was thinking of subscribing, but this feels wrong. I understand having some features behind a paywall, but it feels like I'm needing to pay for a glitch in their program.

I've been using Celtx for about 4 years. It's a great software that has allowed me to write and share many great scripts. I'd definitely suggest it for up and coming writers, or even experts. However, yesterday I encountered an issue with my app. I'm not sure if I'm the only one with the issue, but for some reason, the app would crash every time I try to save a script. It seems to only have this issue with the app, and the browser version works fine.

It's been a great app, for an beginner like me who is interested in writing a script and has no idea about how to do it, i would definitely recommend this app. I love this app. There are some tweaks, when i change the colour of the screen the app runs slowly, like it freezes for a sec. I would love if you guys add an in built password protection. Other than that it an awesome app.

Editing on the app is very stressful. The cursor will randomly jump to another part of the script and you end up typing where you didn't intend. That's probably the most inconvenient part. Also, there is no option to duplicate your script on the app and full version. The app is simply okay to view your script.

Still having issues with syncing between devices. Would be great to sort that out. Also, I'm still not sure what the 10+ $ per month I was paying for a year or so was for... I am now using free version and am happier

I just have one question: Why did my projects suddenly disappear when my interrnet was down? Everything is gone. Eraced from existence. Do you know I was very close to.printing it out? All I had was just 2 more FREAKIN PAGES!!! 2. So tell me why am.I starting at a home pahe on my pc where it give the three.obstions that is. Light blue with a book, purple with a * and the light green one.with the cell phone? Btw I emailed you guys. Cuz im very angry right know.

The idea is there however the autoprediction is not on the same level as final draft. When I finish dialogue and hit enter it does not always predict the next type correctly (character dialogue etc) then when I go back to edit the whole thing reformats itself for no reason. Very frustrating.

I downloaded this app because I wanted something on my table for writing screenplays, and this is free. That's the only reason I continue using it. In addition to complaints others have about it, it pays no attention to screenplay formatting rules. I work mostly in landscape mode, and the text stretches all the way to the right margin, regardless of whether I'm typing action or dialogue. Also, I use a detachable keyboard with my tablet, and Celtx does not recognize the right or down arrow. Wherever I touch on the screen is considered the "end" of the document, and pressing the arrow keys will go no further down the document. As I said, it's free, so I use it. I would never pay for something this bad.

All works good and I have used it for a while . When I have had issues , support has helped me out completely! The only thing I don't like is the cost , being a poor, unknown film maker it's kind of an unnecessary cost, but I do really like the website and the app!

Wish i could give it 2.5 stars. I dislike it, but it's Ok. As others have pointed out, it's very buggy. But it's free; so you get what you pay for.

It's not nearly as powerful as it could be. I've worked with the older desktop version and I remember the amazing ways you could set up projects with storyboards, reference images, character sheets, etc. There was even a Novel template once upon a time, long long ago. I had hoped the app might retain some of that functionality and I'd be able to save out a project from it instead of just a pdf. I suppose it's great for an ad free specialised notepad, but since Celtx decided to go purely cloud based, I find myself only more disappointed. It would have been truly awesome to have those functions here. Alas, woe is me for the limitations forced upon by those who have their heads in the Cloud.

App is now completely useless. Refuses to save, update or do anything on any new script. This used to work well, now I'm probably going to uninstall.

I love using celtx on my computer, but on mobile its almost impossible to use because it crashes so frequently.

It's impossible to use on your phone without it crashing, and the site itself is just extremely flawed compared to other screenwriting programs. I highly recommend looking into other sites for screenwriting.

Its works well, you can now export to PDF ...in case you want to print your script. I think this is a must have for any screen/script writer...it offers so many options, from stage to screen, to audio book etc.….pls give a try

Been working for the last 17 hours on a script and it's pissing me of that the app is randomly copy and pasting lines all the time and how do you create a title page? The simplicity of this app is not there, please sort it out or I will have to choose final draft instead

Its a great app, but it has lots of bugs that interfere when i want to edit or write. But beside that the app's great and i highly recommend everyone looking for this type of app.

Like crying right now. After spending days to type 30 scenes out of my script. The application suddenly stopped working and when I re-opened the application all works are gone. This is painful and I am heart broken

Difficult to use due to strange bugs that prevent me from making any progress. There is a glitch where whenever I place the cursor and press the backspace button, instead of deleting a letter, it copies one or two letters and pastes it in front. For example, if I write "of the" and press backspace, it'll turn into "of thehe". Not sure what causes this.

This app is the reason I'm buying Final Draft. It crashes all the time, loses progress, jumps to the beginning of the script, so yay, I get to scroll through 80 pages every few minutes, and at one point it lost 8 pages of script.

Many artist writers can't afford other forms of screen writing software and are denied sharing their art and stories with the film community,thanks to you guys many a student and professional now can ,I love Celtx

It was really good initially. But it became extremely slow. Each space i enter will take few seconds. Please help me correct this.

This app is both good and bad. I'm a longtime Celtx user. I've owned the iOS and Android apps, and I've used them both on old and top-of-the-line hardware. But this Android app is near unusable at times. For short scripts, the input delay is only a couple seconds. For long scripts (anything past 3,000 words or so), it's 30 seconds most of the time and often crashes before I can save my work. This is especially cumbersome for a writer like me who's writing feature-length screenplays and adapting Shakespeare plays. Ideally, this app should be as snappy as Fade In, Google Docs, or OneNote. I definitely hope the Celtx team overhauls the app for power users like me. The slowness is enough to make me consider switching from Celtx entirely.

It works but there a new bug problem. Can't use the character or anything.

After saving the first draft, few hours later I opened to continue, everything I wrote has disappeared except the dialogues. It is pretty disappointing.

It keeps logging me out of my account and it won't save the work that i had recently did. It's really annoying and i want it fixed

Not able to write anything except scene heading..courser is not proceeding from scene header.

Has a tendency to crash a lot even after reinstalling. Have been using the app for years and have had to look at alternatives since all my progress is lost during every random crash.

This app is a big deal ,I was tired walking around with my laptop fearing that my ideas will just vaporise, but now I can write anywhere at any time...

Says :there is a problem in generating PDF,tried to restart device,closed app ,nothing worked I like the app,it's really good ,but no way I m gonna use it again if you don't fix it(Android 7 ,HTC 10)

as i lover of film & writing, i think it's just plain awesome being able to write on the go. as soon as that elusive moment of genius inspiration rears it's rare, yet beautiful, head, you're able to capture it. all the elements are here, and on top of that, it's free. 5 stars without a doubt.

I DARE SOMEONE FROM THE COMPANY WHO MADE THIS TO CONTACT ME WHAT THE HELL? CRASHES WHEN U WRITE 3 WORDS DOES NOT SAVE WHAT YOU'VE WRITTEN (GOT A THREE DAY OLD FILE WHICH KEEPS LOADING DESPITE ME HAVING CHANGED IT FOR TIMES). SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW MY PC GOT MALWARE DUE TO IT CANNOT TYPE RANDOMLY REARRANGES WORK. PLEASE EXPLAIN?

Only opens scripts, but no other Celtx app exists for opening other types of writing within a project , like the novel.

Hair pulling frustration until I realized it's totally incompatible with Gboard and Fleksy. Still, I can virtually guarantee you the programmers have never actually try to writing a script on this. Many text entry and navigation issues. I have since seen other users write the same complaints here only to be told to reboot their phone. But using Samsung keyboard or SwiftKey solved a lot of bugs.

I really like the app, and it looks great and functions very smoothly for the most part. I do have an issue with the cursor occasionally jumping to somewhere random when I try to move it, so I hope this might be fixed in the future.

This app is great except for the fact ever 3 min it says unfortunately Celtic has stopped working and it exits and If I don't back out I lose all that I wrote.........I love yal but come on this is 2017

- Very laborious - No Undo Option - You can't copy your material from Google Doc, Word, Notes etc. and then edit

It was working perfectly fine for first few days but then it suddenly has gone too slow and it jumps out of the script only after few seconds of opening the script. Please look into it and solve the bug.

Cool app. But working with Indic language's. I'm facing export problem.

But can't save pdf or print in my language. If It could do that it would be greater.
