The Ride is Canada’s get-me-there app, a free*, all-in-one transportation that helps you find nearby taxis, compare cab and transit options and see car sharing locations in any city across Canada.
It Works Everywhere: See all taxis and transit options everywhere in Canada. Compare travel times, costs and choose how you want to go.
• E-Hailing with NO SURGE Pricing: See and order a nearby cab, get an ETA and driver details and watch them arrive .All fares are at metred rates so no surge price anxiety at peak times. Be in contact with your driver directly through the app and get notified when your taxi has arrived.

• *Fees: The Ride is free to download, and during the first 30 days of use, there are no fees to use the service. After the first 30 days, The Ride charges a convenience fee of $2 for e-hailing one of the closest cabs ( and no surge pricing), and $1 when connecting to the first available taxi dispatch (also no surge pricing - ever!). In partnership with every Canadian wireless carrier, these fees are conveniently added to your mobile bill. There is no charge for using the app’s Transit service and carshare location locater.

I can't book a taxi without calling, what's the point of an app if I have to call? I already have #8294 in my phone, I can speed dial that. It won't connect me when I use the app to call, picks the wrong address for pick up when I've input the correct one, and keeps crashing. Needs work.

I installed the app, but to get a taxi it only has the pickup destination, not the drop-off destination. And to preorder a taxi, there's no option for that.

Every time I open it, it crashes. It won't let me log in. I have a very new phone and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. The update only made it worse.

Literally the worst. Set a location for pick up and then it sends you to a dispatch for the wrong city. And then the dispatcher has the audacity to blame you for it. Gfy

The bloody app keeps booking random times when I select 1145am or 1146am at my house. It keeps booking taxis and I can't cancel! I say cancel and yes I want to. It says it was canceled and it's still there. I now have 5+7 taxis coming at wrong times. It's not a thumb issue! The app after clearing cache and data, uninstall reinstall, reboot phone. Power cycle phone and app thoroughly. It's still screwed up!!! What the hell!

Well, here I thought we had something for people who didn't want to use Uber. Boy was I wrong. $2 added to your wireless bill for using the service. $1 added for you to have them patch you to a taxi company...Ever heard of #taxi? Wow. Just another failure.

This app is asking me to sign and give up my name, email and cellphone number before I can even see of it's worth it. No way in hell. You know guys, you can simply use a Google account authentication on Android phones. You are asking for too much. Anyway, good luck with that.

The promise of no busy lines is not true ... you often have to keep trying. The wait times can also be ridiculous, a half hour or more. You're better off using the partner taxi company's own apps, the cabs dispatch a lot faster. This app is useful if you're in a city other than your hometown ... otherwise I really wouldn't recommend it.

To be very honest, I ignored every review which were basically all bad. Totally ignored them and went to sign up. Entered all the info. Hit "create account" it kept shaking the email box like I entered the wrong email even tho I made sure I entered the right email. After all those bad reviews are legit.

$2 for e-hailing when in most if not all citys hailing a taxi is technically illegal to do but not in forced. And M.A.D.D wonders why there are drunk drivers ( Provide the app and app features Free of cost and most drinkers will want to download and use the app.) Having a cost to the app and to the features of the app will just deter drinkers from using an app like this. It should be illegal to charge for apps apps features like this. Should be lawq that Alcohol company's should be paying for this.
