About Advanced Signal Status

Samsung devices running Android 5.0 (lollipop) or later require a rooted device with SuperSU 2.49 beta or newer in order to use the additional settings shortcut.

I won't be responding anymore to reviews/emails telling me the "additional settings shortcut" doesn't work for devices without root and rooted devices that don't have at least SuperSU version 2.49 beta. If you need that shortcut to work, please follow directions and root your device before blaming me or telling me it doesn't work.

The shortcut does work for most other rooted Android 5.0 devices and tested on my stock Moto (2014) X and Nexus 5. Android 4.x devices (not Samsung) work without root 99% of the time

--- What do this app do? ---
► Toggle between 3G and 4G with a few clicks for nearly any device regardless of manufacturer.

► View all statistics your carrier uses to determine signal quality and 3G to 4G hand offs for CDMA, LTE and HSPA/HSPA+ in real time.

► Easy to read 3G and 4G statistics in percentages based on the max/min values instead of just decibels.

► Quick access to info you can reference when you need to complain to your carrier about poor reception in your area.

► Find dead spots around your home/office that affect phone calls, but not data (or data, but not phone calls).

► Reception quality can be misleading with bars only. See all the data Android and your carrier hides from you to determine signal quality and how it varies.

► Access to low level information about your previous and current wifi connections, including the current signal in decibels.

Annoyed at the lack of network signal information for your Android phone your carrier hides from you?

Can't switch between 3G and LTE easily with your phone?

Wish you could know more about the statistics your carrier uses to determine many bars your phone has and the tower it connects to?

Want to see what your 3g and 4g signals are at the same time and also switch between them easily?

Try out this free app and see all that information you've been missing when you could only look at number of bars and one signal under status settings. Also includes hidden configuration settings (cell radio configuration, wifi config, battery info) normally invisible to users.

Compare your signal quality based on percentages instead of just decibels. Now, you can instantly see how great each signal reading is for your device based on a scale of 0% (worst) to 100% (best). Percentages are configured to give the best reading for your carrier by default.

Use the info contained in this app to monitor your current signal and find dead spots around your home and office. Also useful for complaining to tier 2 tech support with your carrier when your signal sucks. Be informed and use what they know to your advantage!

**If you want this app in another language, please contact me either on the forums or with the listed email here to help. Translating can be done by anyone via https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/advanced-signal-info **

App works best for phones with either a CMDA or LTE data connection, but I offer as much GSM info as I can provide. If it does not work with your device, please contact me at my email and I can work with you to find out the issue.

Note: not all information may be available depending on the OEM/OS. Info not displayed will show as "N/A".

If the advanced area button causes the app to crash, it's your device and not me, sorry (not much I can do other than remove the button for your device only). It's an activity added to the pure Android OS and can be restricted by manufacturers (such certain Samsung ones).

Helped fix a "Roaming Indicator Off" error message when local filipino network (Globe) forced me from GSM based network to CDMA and then removed/blocked mobile network settings. This is the only app of many that I tried that actually had the proper permissions to fix the issue. Note phone was a rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with a Note 5 Phronesis 5.1 ROM.

Very useful app I tell my friends to download from Playstore so they will know which phone brands to AVOID if they want an 'LTE only' data connection option. Avoid like the plague: Samsung, LG and Huawei (except their Nexus releases). Buy with confidence: Asus, Sony, Xiaomi, Oppo, Nexus branded phones, Lenovo, if you need 'LTE only' mode. Quick shortcut to access the same hidden Android menu: Dial *#*#4636#*#* then choose 'Additional Info'

Worked til I did a factory reset. All other root apps still work. Very pissed as now I have no way to text on my Verizon S4 on AT&T and am forced to buy a new phone with money I don't have

Because a security alert gave me pause about permissions and i withdrew one, suddenly my gsm 2G/3G data appeared. After noting the alert about network permission being necessary for functionality it was reinstated. Guess what? The data no longer appears in the list. Can this be looked into? Update: Now it is intermittent, and deletion then reindtallation has not got it better, therefore, do you think it may be the actual provider signal? Logcat has been sent, nothing improved.

Works fine at switching between GSM, WCDMA, and LTE (solo band). Just have to be careful not to mess around too much or set the wrong settings.

Gives tons of interesting stats about all my cell connection both 3G and 4G radio info (much more than the system menus) but can't find anywhere that it shows WiFi information (which is what I really needed). Using stock Verizon S5 on Android 5.0

The app gives really good information in a great way. Only thing I'd ask the development team is if they could add some sort of help menu? I didn't have a clue what half of it means. Still does what it's supposed to

Great app. I really didn't like the whole my app can cause your phone damage. You're warned so don't expect me to help you out if it does message. So out of curiosity I tried to damage a few phones with it. The only thing I could break was the radio on a Samsung galaxy s3 phone by turning it off with this app. Would not turn back on by any method without flashing stock. To be fair it does say that the radio switch won't work on a sammy. Great app though.

This great app made my s4 active i9295 able to set my network type to lte (after root). Before my s4 active are 4g able, using 4g sim and supported areas but at my country, my device unable to set at lte network then here comes this great app after other apps failed ( requires root ). Thank you

Thank you! I haven't been able to make or receive calls for days. I was ready to give up and then I found this app! I was able to acces phone info and change the preferred network type and this fixed the issue. Calls are now clear as water. I wasn't able to acces this through other apps or my phones stock settings.

This app is truly terrific. It does what it says on the tin plus a whole lot more. There's only 2 things that i would like to see in future. The options to change LTE/WCDMA only and LTE Preferred(*With WCDMA to back up when LTE is unavailable*). The other things would be tool tips when hovering over options with AirView enabled explaining what each option does so we get a better idea how to use the app more effectively. Good job and keep up the work.

Thank you. It looks like it is picking up CDMA stats even when the selection is off. SCH-I545 (jfltevzw) LRX22C. The new version additional setting is not working either so no ability to switch signal. Do you have link for old version?

Overall it's a pretty neat app but I have a problem with the smsc number box. When ever I change the smsc number and I click update, I then click refresh and it changes it back to a different number. I don't know if this is an app issue or what.

I'm running a Moto G (2015) with Android 5.1.1. Antenna signal is displayed properly, but the shortcut to change antennas is locked by Motorola. I may try and get root access to alleviate this problem, but as others of said there's no guarantees the antenna switch will work. Still love the app anyway!

having this 'device locked' prompt going to additional info. i usually dont get that..pretty sure my s4 is rooted..what's happened?

This app worked for a while on my rooted Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 running stock TouchWiz Lollipop 5.0.1, but out of nowhere I now seem to get the notorious "Device locked" message. If this was fixed, I would most definitely give 5 stars because it is the only way for me to call or text given that I cannot on 4g, which is what my device is locked on to.

I love it! Works like its supposed to. I wish there was a widget that would let me switch/select different network modes (like LTE, wcdma, and GSM). Other then that, I love it!

Suggestions: 1- Any way to force or integrate "LTE preferred"? 2- A small widget that shows connection stats (device info & signal info).

Would this app work on Samsung Note 3 neo? If so, please kindly let me know. Thank you in advance.

We use a cell phone as a WiFi hotspot at our remote mountain cabin 16 miles from the closest cell tower. We use a Wilson Electronics Sleek4g amplifier along with a directional Yagi antenna to get a reasonable signal. This app, together with two others, has been helpful in determining what tower to point our Yagi antenna towards and maintain a signal lock. My only wish is to find a single app rather then 3 to do what this, "CDMA Field Test", and "LTE Discoverer" do. CDMA Field Test creates very usable logs that can be analyzed in a spreadsheet and/or Google Earth, and both it and LTE Discoverer will let map your base station(s) in Google Maps. LTE Discoverer will also let you cycle your radio in the event of signal drop. But neither of those allow you to set the radio to force an LTE lock like this app does - that is the invaluable function here and it works perfectly for me on a rooted Galaxy S4 running KitKat. Before using this our signal would periodically drop to 3g because the signal strength there was much greater than with LTE. (3g of -70 versus -95 for LTE) This keeps us at LTE all of the time.
