About Weather On Wheels
*2017-05-23*: We have been made aware of issues with the NDFD API which are affecting the app for our users, and have a completely overhauled version of the app coming very soon with a new backend system we are implementing to improve response times for route information. Please bear with us while we're solving this problem, we hope to have the reliability of Weather On Wheels assured in short order.
Weather on Wheels makes it simple to check out weather predictions before you hit the road. Enter your starting location, destination and start time and Weather on Wheels will display weather forecasts along your entire route. Adjust your start time to find the best possible conditions for your trip.
Can be downloaded from many countries but provides weather predictions only for the US lower 48 states.

- Autocomplete is now focused on locations in the US
- Warnings are now graphically identified by a small red triangle with the type of warning indicated in the detailed forecast box

Does exactly what it says: simple, easy to understand weather highlights along a route. Icons denote weather events while data (temperature, time of day, precipitation chance, etc) is switchable and displayed on top. Best of its class.

Ok app weather seems accurate for locations easy to use. Im a truck driver my routes are never the default A to B or suggested routes. Need to be able to add "stops" to be able to customize a route. Tourists would find it useful also not everyone drives the shortest route from A to B without zigzag 100 miles to see world's largest ball of string or grand Canyon! Lol

Whether on wi-fi or cellular data, when pushing "Let's Go" it says it's not connected to the internet, even though my phone definitely is connected. Also unable to use "current location" as an option, it can't detect it.

UPDATE 03/10/17 PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FIX THIS APP!! Great idea. App works well on my Note 5. Definitely room for improvement. As a truck driver I would like to add multiple routing points. Also the ability to add a "rest stop" (length of time to be my choosing, I'm required by law to take a 10 hr rest break every now and then..) so being able to include that into the timeline would give me a more accurate picture of the weather I'll be facing for my entire route. Also, the option to have the icon font enlarged to make it more readable would be helpful. The option to see traffic cameras along the route would be helpful as well. Also, a "miles tab" would be helpful to assist in determining how far along the route you'll be. Cudos to the developers..

But it doesn't tell you the current weather of where your at or if there are weather warnings. 38% chance of rain is not the same as "Severe Thunderstorm warning, Tornado and and flash flood watch"..

All day I've been trying to use this app to test it out before my road trip next week and all I get is a message saying it can't connect to the server and to try again later. It maps ny route, but that's it. Doesn't zoom in, nor does it actually do its job and give me the forecast. Pointless.

Unlike other apps, this one gives weather at ETA at points on route. The ability to easily update based on current location is great. Like that one can zoom in on map and see specific and relevant location along route - something other apps of this type lack.

I miss the website weatherbonk which had great options to combine weather and road trip planning. It's nice to have an app to help fill the void. I hope they are able to keep adding more options.

After the update it just sits and spins once point A and B have been established. USED to be a great app, buy not any longer. :(
