foobar2000 controller for Android
Two words: absolutely awestruck. What an amazingly quick Android app. Computer installation was as simple as a few clicks. For something running on my slow home network I expected a large delay between my phone and my laptop--at the very least, a few seconds. But the controls on this app are instantaneous--from the volume to the media controls to the library search. Very impressive. Going to get my friends to get this A.S.A.P.
Brilliant if you can get it working. It works great so thank you to the developer, now I can control my outside music from my phone. However, the installation instructions didn't work for me but I got it going in the end with a weird ip address.
This is a keeper. Works as expected. Setup for additional Foobar2000 plugins (Windows 10 Anniversary) was simple, no firewall problem. UI is OK, not great, but more than good enough. Good enough for me to want to say thank you, but the Go PRO option fails because the PRO version is gone from the Google Play Store. The alternative app is out of the question because it asks for unnecessary permissions such as Identity and Contacts.
Pretty good app in order be more lazy in your own house. work well for the thing its intended to be, interface a little bit not so good but once again do the purpose of controlling foobar remotly.
AMAZING APP! The first time my phone rang, and my music automatically paused, I thought something was wrong. And upon ending the call, my music resumed! I realized this was an option and enjoyed this app so much more!
It's great for a DLNA "controller". No questions asked. But if you want to use it as DLNA "receiver", its setup alogside BubbleUPnP ($$) has problems making playlists. To that end, UMS (desktop) with foobar2000 normal app work without bugs (note: if your goal is lossless audio streaming, enable LPCM inside UMS). Cheers!
I could never get a remote app for WMP to work. At this point who needs it? Foobar has better sound and this remote app works beautifully (if it works.) As an unexpected bonus it will play any file/folder on the PC, not just playlists. Just follow the well laid out installation instructions and get real lucky. It worked fine in Android 6.0. After upgrade to Android 7.0 the troubles began. EVERY time the PC reboots all connections are lost. After spending an hour plus for a few mornings to make it work now I can not get it work at all. I finally resorted to trying another app which worked immediately. IT AIN'T ME. As an aside it still works fine on my old Android 6.0 phone which I keep around for just such a purpose - WiFi remote. If you have a new phone I would steer clear until he debugs the code. Unless you enjoy a REAL challenge.
A very well thought-out media player remote. It has all the functions I need and some more. The installation in the PC end might be confusing for the less "tech-savvy" people, but once you get it set up you won't need to fiddle with it. But you need to find the server again if its IP address changes so a fixed IP for the server is recommended. If this used network names to connect instead of IP it might be possible to work around it. But still, this is the perfect companion for your Foobar2000.
A really great foobar 2k remote controller app that lets you control your favorite music on a computer over Wi-Fi.
Ultrafast. Stable. Easy to use. Works just great as intended to do. One of the best if not The best Android/PC media controller on the market. Thanks to PC plug-ins reads all types of audio media: SACD, DSD, DVDA, FLAC, APE, WAV and converts between them. Thanks :)
UPDATE: would it be possible to read/write the ratings value from/to the metadata field instead of the Playback statistics module? I've started using this a lot now and because I was always using ratings as a field and keyboard shortcuts via scripts to set ratings, this doesn't see my ratings and when I rate things they're the metafield isn't updated. Not a big deal, trying to figure out how to just copy my ratings meta data into foo playback statistics module, and figure out if I can generally get them to both sync. Note: the guy crying about permissions in some comment clearly did not look in preferences and see how this can pause playback on incoming calls, which is a nice feature.
Pity, because it was just what I was looking for - it suddenly disconnects and can't reconnect unless I delete the server and search for the PC again as a new server. Could be my phone's problem, no way of knowing.
Worked but ... but album art has some issue when the jpeg is one or two level up in the file hierarchy (for example CD 1-3 sharing same cover) ... can the developer look into this?
Best remote app for foobar. Runs Perfect, simple layout, easy to use. My Specs: Android 6 Nova Launcher Latest foobar2000 pc-version
Worked perfect for years, now tried it on three comp and does not connect. 4h wasted
If only the library view had album art, this would have been perfect. Other than that, it's a handy app for controlling foobar2k remotely.
Great app! Fantastic. Should add lyrics support. Also I wanted to buy the Pro version and couldn't. I would be willing to help out
Worked well for a few days. Complete junk now.
Doesn't work, developer non-responsive
Keeps crashing server running windows 10
Very bad work with playlists.
Worked once. Never did again after that.
I didn't expect it to be this great!! damn
Rarely works properly. Mostly keeps disconnecting from the server and i have to clock on a sound name twice to get it to play the right song.
This is a great application which allows me to control fb2k remotely from different rooms. Very convenient!
Too much trouble and complex
Please make buttons in a notification bigger and further from one to another.
Once setup it's great.
Does not connect
Thank you for this beauty !!! The app is fully loaded and fully functioning. Works like a charm !
So easy it almost felt wrong. Loved the .exe for the component install.
Easy installation both on pc and android. Works perfectly as a foobar controller.
I do a lot of network stuff, UPnP controls over Foobar so there is definitely a connection. I can access the http site and control just fine on local networl but this app doesn't connect for sh*t. Seems like it's not even trying.
The initial installation guide is a little confusing, you're supposed to add the http plug-in in the foobar user component folder : (%appdata%/foobar2000/user_comp) , while adding the server files in the foobar folder (%appdata%/foobar2000). Though once it's installed correctly and "paired" it's smooth as butter! There's relatively no delay between start up and connection. The album art, track info, time, etc shows up flawlessly!
Couldn't connect. Foobar2000 is horrible anyway!
Works great except app doesn't close itself.
Works as advertised.
Has a short setup but is well worth the convenience gained.
Easy installation, does exactly what I want.

Just tried it today. Easy and fast setup, smooth and responsive controls. I just have one small complaint. It seems that you can't sort anything. It just shows your whole library by artist and the playlists you create. Not a big problem for me, since I use playlists to organize my music anyway. It just would be nice to have an album view. The notification controls stick around for several minutes after playback is stopped, and it won't allow you to swipe it away, but I can live with that.
