How can one thank another for giving him the best advantage to save his soul? This is what I owe you. The homilies by St. Alphonsus, e.g., on "Impurity" and avoiding the "Occasions of Sin" have filled in a huge gap left in my own prayer life, spiritual reading, homilies, etc. I truly believe we have to go back in time to the Fathers of the Church to get the most authentic Catholic teaching, as there is so much either missing or diluted today.

About 1,000 miles a week. I like to pre download the talks and simply listen to them without network interruptions. This is a major flaw of the vault's system, that I can't save them in the cache (like Google Music does). Otherwise the apps are great. I understand audio files take up a lot of room, which is why I like that google music allows for downloads to my very large SD card.

The issues discussed by the early Church Fathers are not different from those of the present time. But the direct manner by which the Fathers drive a point across to their listeners hits right at the heart of the issues with emphatic "power" not often felt today. Hearing the very first homily, not knowing who "the early Church Fathers" were, impacted in me an unexplainable persistence to understand our faith better. Wishing more homilies could be nearly as "mind-blowing" as these!
