About Litsy

The only thing that matches the joy of reading a great book is sharing that joy with friends.  That’s why we created Litsy for Android.

Litsy is the place to share and discover your favorite books with your favorite people. As readers, our favorite books are recommended by people we respect, not algorithms.

The Litsy community is a groundswell of passionate readers, authors and influencers creating short posts about their "reading moments." These posts are made of blurbs, photos, quotes and reviews, and each post is linked to one book.

Since enjoying a book has no end, Litsy is 100% mobile and allows you to capture whatever bookish thoughts you have, whenever you have them. Litsy also makes it easy to “go down the rabbit hole," browsing your feed while on the go. When you find your next book, it’s easy to add it to your stack for future reading.

Talking about books is a feel-good activity. It shares a piece of yourself, and it helps others. To recognize this, we thought it would be fun to invent the world’s first “Litfluence” scoring system. Litfluence is our way of showing that what you say about the books you read matters.

It’s fun.  It’s simple.  It’s rewarding. It’s spoiler-free and free to use. And it’s all about the book.

Sign up and get a little Litsy.

Love to be able to share my love of books with fellow bookworms

This is one of my favorite apps. Love it!

I am really loving Litsy, I just wish there were more options available. Overlays have disappeared and only beta testers have access to the book themed stickers... which is weird since this app is all about books, but instead I get...food stickers. But with that said, Litsy has completely replaced Instagram and eventually it has the potential to replace Goodreads.

I love the community and the idea of the app but it crashes a ton and certain features are counter intuitive. Honestly, the constant crashing is what kills this for me.

I haven't had so much fun with a social app in years... I love this so much!!! Keep up the good work and keep up the improvements... my only suggestion would be a way to link up with your goodreads friends.

B70%
by B####:

I love this app???????? It helps me find new books and acts as an interactive medium for book lovers.

K70%

Really liking this app. Like a book based instagram. Could replace goodreads for me if there were more users.

Superb idea! Really had helped me find new books to read

I heart Lissy. Such a great app so happy it's finally on Android!

Will the app size be lessened in the future?

K70%

I really like the concept of this app, but it does have a really "new" feel and there is a lot of room for improvement. Things I'd like to see: star-rating system; better quality photo uploads; more space for bio & ability to add my website in the bio. The other drawback is that the community is still really small, so not much interaction goes on yet. Maybe work on some marketing? Otherwise this idea/app has a lot of potential, and I am interested to see where it goes.

I like this app but I really wish Android users had all the same options that iPhone users have. It's also very frustrating that every photo I try to add crops itself into a zoomed in version. I'd like the photo to upload exactly as I have it.

The short character count limit for reviews is frustrating. A book app where you're severely limited in the number of characters? wtf. Otherwise worth checking out, UX is a bit odd and a few small bugs.

So far, this is the closest app I can find that works like a virtual bookclub, in that I can talk to people reading the same books as me, which is great. But, there is no way to "start a bookclub" like an event and invite people. Also, I need a way to filter my home feed. Most days I'm only interested in nonfiction, or a specific topic, and I'd like to be able to hide all posts about fiction and comic books without unfollowing the person's account. Just my ideas. Thanks.

I love the app, but dont like how the notifications don't clear and I have and orange "1" starring at me.

Slow to respond

Great group of users. Easy to search for books. Hard to add other users who have similar interests to yours. Wish it would stop crashing when I'm trying to use photos or as a book title. A little disappointing that way. Could use some further development and updates to make it truly great.

by K####:

Kind of confusing and the UI is also quite clunky. I know It's a fairly new app though I am still hoping that changes soon. I wish there was an easier way to search users and add books to stacks as well as adding what book you are currently reading.

K70%
by K####:

Love the Litsy community! My TBR stack is out of control but I'm not complaining. I do wish I could share posts such as the getting to know you quizzes or giveaway posts.

J70%
by J####:

It desperately needs to not show me my own posts on the dash. That should be who I follow only. It also needs to be storable on external storage as it is quite clunky in size.

K70%
by K####:

I very very very rarely review apps but I love litsy! It's like the insta of books, encourages me to read more and has a great community! I only wish there were suggested users to follow instead of having to search for a book or # and I can never seem to find any other brits to follow!

App no longer working on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 - again! This is beyond a joke! I do all my reviews on this device and now the app is useless once again ????

K70%
by K####:

I want to love this app but it constantly shuts down on me when I try to post things. I'd use it much more if it didn't keep closing halfway through making a post.

K70%
by K####:

I like the app but it crops images so severely and without any ability from the users to edit how the image is cropped.

PLEASE FIX THIS. So frustrated. I loved this app and used it religiously... And then one day it started crashing when I tried to upload photos. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, closed everything else, nothing seems to make a difference. I'm not willing to try 5 times to make each post.

K70%
by K####:

Really great but needs more features or organization. Also I have a terrible connection with this app even when I don't with everything else at that time.

K70%

Such a fun, supportive community! This is an easy, accessible app to fuel your reading obsession. I have experienced very few bugs.

I really like using Litsy until today when I try to add a pic litsy is shutting down. Please fix this. Until then my rating will remain 2 stars

I adore this app! When I switched from my iPhone to a Samsung I really missed it, so I was extremely happy to find it for my new phone and tablet today!

K70%

Its a true blue book lovers community. I use it to keep me motivated to read.

Bugs have been fixed to my knowledge. I use this app more than Facebook!

For the company and chat of fellow book lovers about books. Perfect.

This is specially for developers. I really loved this app, all the features available here are cool, but one thing that is just not so good that there are so many books in other languages or from different regions of the world that are not in your database and if we are reading them we cannot tag them. Atleast give the user access to add a book if its not present in your database, your team may verify the synopsis or description later and publish it with editing. But please do provide this option.

I feel like I don't have many options as a new user. There aren't many ways to search a genre for pages or users like me to add, and nothing is really explained at all. What's an influence and why did I start with 42? Why not have a pic of the cover post on a review automatically? Is this really just an Instagram for books? I wish you had a more in depth rating system because it's vague. If this app is in infant stages I hope it grows and prospers. Right now I can't even figure out how to add a book.

D70%
by D####:

I love the app - I'd love it more if there were push notifications for things like new comments, mentions, or followers. That would make it a five star app!

D70%
by D####:

Whenever I try to post a photo in either Blurbs or Reviews, the app zooms in too far and cuts parts of it out. If I want to use the "Take New Photo With Camera" option, I have to use ridiculously zoomed out bird's eye angles. And when I try to tag books in Blurbs, the app scrolls itself up and gives me the "edit this photo" options instead. I have to click way up at the very top of the window in no man's land to be able to tag books.

I can't figure out how to read the book. I found a 2 books and saved them but now I can't read them. Help!

Not very intuitive. The learning curve seems steep.
