Easy to choose year of study, and unlike most other apps, forces you to learn Japanese pronunciations. Super useful. I only wish that it also had whole kanji words to practice based on the years (nihon, etc)

This program is straight forward to use (I can use any free moments), and the score tracking to measure my progress - I think if it as my "kanji game"! Hands-down this is the best program. I've been learning Japanese for a couple of years, and proficient with hirigana/katakana - but have struggled with many approaches to learning kanji. It'd be even more useful if the authors could repeat your challenging characters more often, maybe even including a mode to focus on your problematic characters.

This app is a good tool for reviewing your Kanji readings, but as a few reviwers have already pointed out, its got some annoying flaws. For starters the keyboard is laid out in a weird hybrid of Japanese kana order, and uncoonected roman (it seems too big a leap to call it roomaji) characters which is unfamiliar to the Japanese learner. A hirgana keyboard would be a nice option, but care needs to be taken that the input is intuitive. A better way to manage preferences would also be useful, since the app starts in "everything" mode, and you have to reset to your preferred level each use. A selectable onyomu/kunyomi option would also help to maximise the practice of all those myriad readings that some characters have. Finally th input needs to clome with an "enter" or "OK" button, since any reading the character comes with will mark your answer as correct and move on - this makes it impossible to test your thoughts on additonal redings for correctness the character for "4" is a simple eample of this - you get "yo" entered, and you're onto the next Kanji, without having to opportunity to ask the app 'is "yon" a correct reading of this character?' All in all, a good start.

A good lightweight app for testing your knowledge of elementary kanji, though better for assessing how well you've learned than actually learning. Could be improved by remembering which grade you've chosen and your input setting between sessions. Some stats on how your accuracy rate has changed over time might also be nice.

Should be simple but it's incomprehensible. There's a button called "set". Set what? "Swap key states". Huh? Asks for readings. Which ones? Kun readings I guess, since it's using hiragana. This app needs to explain better exactly what you're trying to do.

UI isn't compatible with my tablet (archor g9 80). can not see the last row of the keyboard

Great app. Really useful! Unfortunately the randomising isn't so random. It repeats some of them too much. Still deserves 5 stars.

The letters layout is just a big fail. Uninstalled after one minute

Why not use hiragana??? WHY???

I would like to also be tested on meanings and different readings. What's wrong with standard Android input for romaji?

Thanx .. But its for testing ur kanji ... Im still teaching my self hragana and katakana >

It often doesn't list the all the readings and there is no distinction between On and Kun readings. Also having examples wouldn't hurt. So inconclusive and of poor quality.
