About Cash2QIF

This is a simple expense tracking application that exports a .QIF file for Quicken. The file is created on the SD card and can be emailed.

When importing into Cash2QIF, put the .QIF file you exported from Quicken into the /Android/data/com.cash2qif.www/files/ directory on the SD card. Turn off USB storage or disconnect the cable before importing.

When importing into Quicken, for error message OL-221-A: Quicken was not able to complete your request

Instead of opening the .QIF file with Quicken Launcher, open Quicken first. Then select File > Import > QIF File.

Works great! It would be even better if there was the ability to have multiple accounts.

R70%

I have used this app on my S2 and S3 and loved it. Now I installed it on my S6 and it does nothing but enter transactions. Where is it saving them? How can I export?

R70%
by R####:

I got get the app to do any thing other than enter data. No menu to export

L70%
by L####:

This used to be a good app but now it does nothing but allow you to enter new transactions.

H70%
by H####:

Does not import any thing

C70%
by C####:

I don't like using online apps such as the Quicken companion on my phone, but i love Quicken. This app makes it simple for me to transfer transactions (created while traveling) into my Quicken.

T70%
by T####:

Very good tool to note transactions and load to quicken.

T70%
by T####:

Does not allow you to delete individual transactions or set up a list of categories in advance...would be perfect with those improvements.

D70%
by D####:

Perfect! A quick way to note cash transacts and then import them into Q. QIF import works fine in modern Quicken vers to CASH accounts. Nexus One.

O70%
by O####:

Very great app work on 2011 on cash account after that you can move the transaction to an other account

T70%
by T####:

Really great for syncing with Quicken. The obscure storage area could be simplified and out would be helpful if the sbopping would show

T70%
by T####:

I am able to enter transactions in this app and import them into a CASH account in Quicken 2010 via the QIF file it generates. Great on Desire HD!

T70%
by T####:

Good app, does what it says, but I still prefer QuickRegister.

T70%
by T####:

Export is a little flaky, so export often to avoid problems.

T70%
by T####:

Works with GNUcash. Interface could be a bit more polished but is OK.

I70%
by I####:

Any current working version of quicken will not import qif files. Makes this app kinda pointless

O70%
by O####:

All this needs is a running total of cash I have in my pocket!

T70%
by T####:

I love this app. Its perfect for my needs as a quicken user. I combine it sugarsync or dropbox to automatically sync export folder to my desktop!

X70%
by X####:

Can't import my quicken info to cash2qif to even get started!

T70%
by T####:

Not good if you want to use it w/ Quicken 2010. No support for qxf/oxf.

T70%
by T####:

How do you import the data to quicken? It doesn't do anything when I tell it to export. No email, nothing...

T70%
by T####:

Would be great if it exported dates in the local format rather than US format.

T70%
by T####:

Looks decent, but transactions seem to duplicate when i switch phone orientation while entering. Also multiple accounts would be good. Lg ally

J70%
by J####:

Quicken will not read import file.app sucks

T70%
by T####:

Useful if you are happy with the idiosyncratic US date format. Drag for the rest of the world. :-)

T70%
by T####:

This blows. Hard to load info and Does not even give you a balance! Kept failing.

S70%
by S####:

Works better than Quicken Mobile 2014 and gets the job done. Best way to enter transactions while on the go. Since I had problems importing directly into my credit/banking accounts, the way I use it is to create a Cash Account in Quicken and import the transactions into that account. Then I move the transactions to the right credit card account. Works like a charm.

X70%
by X####:

just my 2 cents, after i type the payee and amount, can it auto scroll down to the catergory? my keypad is blocking the space for the category part. i'm using both s3 and s4

S70%
by S####:

Simple, straightforward, and functional app that does what it says. No ads or baloney. I use it to collect miscellaneous cash transactions and dump them into Quicken. Great way to improve the accuracy of category reporting!

S70%
by S####:

UI is clumsy but it works. Would be great if it did export via Dropbox API, which is the easiest way to get the QIF to Quicken on my PC.

S70%
by S####:

Does a fine job at exporting a single QIF file for use in Quicken desktop, which really helps me track on-the-go cash spending--it is NOT a complete personal finance tool, and doesn't claim to be. It memorises payees, categories, tags and memos, and has quite a good auto-fill, which is useful for frequently repeated purchases. A couple of things to watch out for: 'Export from... Last export' is apparently based on the date, so it will not automatically pick up backdated transactions or anything later added on the same day as export. And if you are using a Quicken 'default' category, be careful to select it from the app's list, or a second copy will be created. With those issued fixed and multi-account support (which ought to be fairly straightforward), I'd give 5 stars to this free app. P.S. If you want to make a credit entry, use the keyboard's minus sign in front of the number. It works.

M70%
by M####:

This app does EXACTLY what it's supposed to: track only cash transactions. Yes, Quicken 2010 does support QIF import for cash accounts. Perfect for those of us who previously used Pocket Quicken to track cash expenditures. The mail file option is very nice. Deserves a much higher rating.

I70%
by I####:

Does exactly what it says and does it well - exactly what I was looking for to keep track of my daily cash expenses and easily import them to desktop quicken. Thank you!

N70%
by N####:

Would not open my Quicken file. Quicken just needs to make an Android application.

S70%
by S####:

I use Cash2qif to record transactions and transfer to Quicken. It has the best export feature of all apps I've seen. If it would memorize categories, I'd rate it higher.

S70%
by S####:

Can you add on input keyboard negative value for amount field which would equal cash income transactions?

S70%
by S####:

I install it on my smart phone. I recorded all my transaction but it doesn't show the balance!?! Not good for me, I need my balance.

S70%
by S####:

Perfect for users of legacy Quicken QIF.

S70%
by S####:

Not finding the folder to import my current quicken info

S70%
by S####:

Pretty much what I was hoping to find for recording the little cash outlays and get them into Quicken without having to do double entry. I guess Quicken 13 has a mobile integration feature but until I upgrade (if I do) I think this'll do nicely.
