Scripture Memory Notifications has become Scripture Now to accompany a complete redesign to Material Design. Nearly every line of code been rewritten to be better, more useful, less buggy, and much more beautiful, so you can focus on memorizing Scripture.
Psalm 119:11 tells us "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Memorizing Scripture from the Holy Bible isn't just a good idea, it is vital to the Christian's growth and faith in Christ.
But improving your Scripture memory can be hard if you don't have any way of constantly seeing and reminding yourself of the verses you want to memorize. But chances are, you are checking your phone at least a few times a day, so what better way to master Scripture than to have it displayed in your notification drawer to be seen every time you turn on your phone!
SCRIPTURE NOW! FEATURES:
Simple, Non-intrusive Memory System
-Add your verse to the notification drawer. Every time you see it, take a moment to learn it better.
-You choose how much you want to see of the verse. View it in full, see just the first letters, randomly remove words, and more!
-Pick a state or a tag to memorize, and work your way through that whole list, trying to get them all Memorized!
-Work just from the notification or train yourself from the Dashboard. Place a widget on your homescreen so you never forget.
Robust Verse Management
-Rate how much of each verse you know (None, Some, Most, All), and try to get them all to Memorized!
-Add tags to your verses to group them together in lists you create!
-Set which list you are currently working on, and make that your focus. Try to learn everything in a particular state, or memorize all you can about a specific topic with your tags.
-Select multiple verses and change their state or tags as a group. Spend your time memorizing your verses, not micromanaging them.
Help Finding Verses
-Don't just memorize what you know, find ALL that the Bible has to say with the Topical Bible search. Enter a word or phrase and get as many as 100 relevant verses curated from the Topical Bible at OpenBible.info.
-Enter any verse reference and instantly download its text in your favorite translation.
-Import packs of verses that have been prayerfully hand-picked. Create your own verse packs and share them with your friends!
-Download a new verse every day from VerseOfTheDay.com.
Scripture Memory is a beautiful thing

-UI adheres very strongly to Google's Material Design specification to give the best possible presentation and interaction with the app.
-Many Scripture apps have many great features that get lost in bad design and poor navigation. Navigation in Scripture Now is intuitive and every option is exactly where you would expect it to be, and the navigation drawer puts everything just one click away.
-Available in light and dark themes.
Description of permissions:
This app needs permission to use internal storage to backup, import, and export verses. It also uses the Internet to download the verse of the day and access OpenBible.info for the Discover screen.
Please note that this app is still under development, and so there may be bugs that I have not caught. But this also means that I will be updating the app and adding new features as often as I can. The concept seems great, but I had to look up the verse elsewhere to fill in quite a few missing words. It also added a blank item in my pulldown notifications. It did let me edit the messed up verse, so maybe other features will be good. I'll try it a little longer before uninstalling.

Really disappointed, but the Scripture is not exactly from the Bible. Words have been cut out... possibly due to technological errors. Hope to get fixed!

When searching, adding and displaying verses, the verses are incomplete. This is happening in multiple translations, and the mode is set to normal. Please fix.

This seems to be the best app for memorizing verses, but I can't get it to work properly. The first screen that came up when I opened the app, where it has the verse of the day, said Jeremiah something and then "null" instead of the verse. I then tried to put a verse in and when it automatically filled it in it said something like, "he the , the the was end" or something else weird. Somewhere in the settings I couldn't even see the words until I put my finger on the button. I don't know if you can fix this

It's very difficult to understand how to use at first. Once you understand how to use and navigate the app, it becomes clear that there isn't many ways to practice memorizing verses. The only way to memorize verses is to send notifications to your phone, but you can't fill it in.

First off, this app looks awesome and I would love to use it to memorise Scripture but each time I try to open it, it tells me an error has occurred and doesn't open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it was the same problem. I'm on Nexis 5 Lollipop 5.0.1. Hope it gets figured out :). UPDATE: working now, cheers :)

After using this app for a little while I love it. The ability to tag scripture and cycle through them in the notification bar is awesome. Using it I can memorize verses related to whatever I am currently struggling with.
