About Uploader for Garmin

The Uploader for Garmin can read data from your Garmin Forerunner, Edge, eTrex, Oregon, etc, store data in your phone, save the TCX or FIT file to SD card, send activity via email, and upload to:
- Garmin Connect
- Training Peaks
- Endomondo
- RunningAHEAD
- Strava
- Runtastic (see here for limitations: http://www.sportablet.com/1/post/2013/09/sharing-on-runtastic.html).

The app can also export to GPX and share to Facebook.

Other than reading from your Garmin, the app can also import FIT and TCX files from sdcard, flash drives, etc.

For some Garmin models, the app can also send tracks / courses to the device (see here: http://www.sportablet.com/send). This feature will be gradually implemented for every device.

These devices are supported *with the right settings and usb-friendly phones / tablets*
Serial Forerunner models (201, 301, 205, 305).
File-based Forerunner models (10, 15, 110, 210, 220, 610, 620).
ANT+ Forerunner models: 405, 405CX, 410.
ANT-FS Forerunner models: 310XT, 610, 910XT.
ANT-FS Forerunner models: 50, 60, 70.
Garmin Swim.
Serial Edge models (205, 305).
File-based Edge models (200, 500, 510, 605, 705, 800, 810, 1000, Touring, Touring Plus05).
Some Fenix / Fenix 2.
Some eTrex, GpsMap and Oregon models are also supported.
Other devices are reported to be working: Astro 200 and Montana.

BEFORE you connect your device, go here:

http://www.sportablet.com/help.html

choose your garmin model and read on.

Some Samsung and Sony phones / tablets have a built-in ANT+ chip, if you have one you don't need the Garmin ANT+ dongle *when connecting an ANT+ Forerunner*.

The Uploader is free to try: you can read all activities, but explore only one (from your first upload session). That way, you can test communication with the Garmin and publishing to all the supported websites.

Once you know that it works fine with your Garmin device and Android phone/tablet, if you like what you see, you can activate it with an in-app purchase on Google Play (price is about 5 euros / 6.6 $).
Note: in-app purchases are slow, and may take a couple of minutes to be confirmed. Don't panic :-).

This app is a simplified version of the Sportablet app, targeting mobile phones and small-screen tablets. If you have a 10" tablet, check out Sportablet on google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.carlopescio.sportablet

Use this all the time. Upgraded to paid, bargain. Works very well on my S5 Neo with 910XT, which I'd have replaced by now if it wasn't for this app. I never have to switch on a PC or take a laptop on holiday. I just put phone into flight mode to transfer the data and then switch flight mode off to export. No need to restart app in between. Well supported by the developer. Thanks for this great app.

Game. Changer. Works great with my Galaxy S5 and Garmin 310xt. On workouts longer than 10 hours, you need to wait about 10 minutes for it to upload. Occasionally has kinks but they usually work themselves out if not email the developer and he'll work with you.

This app works really well. I use it with my Forerunner 305. After buying a cheap OTG USB cable it was pretty much install the app, plug in the Garmin and 'get activities'. The app lists details of each activity. If that's all you need there's no need to export to Garmin Connect, Strava or whatever. However, I found exporting activities to Garmin Connect and Strava was easy. Using my Forerunner 305, I can also send an activity from the app, back to the Garmin as a course, which is useful. At present, in order to do this, you have to export the activity from the app, to a 'tcx' file and then send from the app to the Garmin. It's easy but you need to read the instructions first. Overall, excellent app enabling me to use my tablet instead of having to mess about booting up the laptop.

Got this app a week or so ago, onto the new 2017 Samsung A5. Using a Garmin 910XT for runs and swims , plus the odd Tri, and an Edge 800 for biking. And uploaded to Garmin Connect. The 910 connects pretty smoothly IF you follow his instructions (though if you've got bucket loads of files to load in one go, Ant+ can get out of sync, just as it can using a laptop to upload). That's a feature of Ant+. Not the app. The 800 connects really easily - as the new A5 has a USB C socket, I connected the 800 to it 'direct' (usb mini into the 800, then the other end of the cable's usbA into an OTG adaptor (usb A in, usb micro out) then a little micro to USB C adaptor ' into the phone. Didn't need any powered hub to do this. So happy days. The guy has already fixed a problem within a day of Garmin shifting the goalposts on Connect , so hats off to him for that. (For those who do moan, you can't blame this guy when Garmin makes a change to Connect ! That's a Garmin caused problem - he's not got a crystal ball to foretell the changes coming!).

This is great for my Garmin 910xt, 310xt, and FR60. Bridges the gap left by Garmin and updates to keep up with changes to the Connect platform. Well worth the upgrade.

Using this with my 910xt. Changed phones a few times and always works well. However, getting connection error when uploading to Garmin connect since the last update to v8.2. Worked fine when I last used it on 15 Sep. Can help fix it please Carlo? (I'm currently using a note 7, and nope it hasn't exploded or anything :p) Thanks Carlo! Quick response as always. Works fine now after resetting my Garmin connect password.

If you have an S7 all you need to do is 1. Install the app 2. Select "Force ANT+ Scan" under options 3. Turn pairing on the watch on 4. Sync (it will upload all the activities, I had to restart the sync several times). 5. Click activity and chose where you would like to send it to. (I signed in with my connect info so it would auto send to strava). 6. At this point you will be asked to pay $6.17 USD, DO IT! 7. Wish Garmin would let us to do this via the connect app, but kudos to the app creator!!

I never review apps, but this is a game changer. I honestly thought I'd have to buy a new running watch with Bluetooth or a new computer to get my forerunner 305 data onto Strava and my phone (Samsung galaxy note 3). But this app gets round that problem and weirdly is even easier to use the older your running watch is. The instructions looked daunting but stick with em. After 10 minutes' reading I now know exactly what to do. It is extremely simple and takes about a minute. Love it. Well done and thanks!

Update: I'm not sure if there was an update bus been working better for me lately. I still occasionally have to stop and start it a few times but by and large is been working. I've been using the suggestion to turn off gps on my watch. And putting the phone on airplane mode. Also recommend uploading after every workout. It doesn't seem to be able to upload more than one activity at a time. Five stars would be working every time without starting over and pulling all workouts at once. Still very happy with it. Much easier than turning on the computer and nice to be able to upload workouts from work. But it seems to work well for runs and swims. However it has not been working at all for bike rides. Pretty frustrating for an app I paid for. I'm having to upload bike rides via my computer and the others thru this. I have disabled GPS on the watch, put the phone on airplane mode. Changed the data chunk, everything suggested.

Basically never works. Edit2: lol this guy is so awful. Now he's sending me harassing emails. What a tool. Edit: love the "tough guy" app creator reply. I've left requests for help, but don't get a peep til I drop the rating to 1. Then instead of actual help I get a message that attacks instead of communicates about his own faulty product. Don't give this guy your money under Any circumstances.

Good App. Allows me to download from my Garmin Forerunner 410 via my Sony Xperia Z5 (integral ANT+) and upload to Garmin Connect/Starva without using a PC and dongle while travelling. I had a few issues with my 2nd down/up load but the Author was timely and accurate with his advice and I was able to solve my issue. I understand the the communication reliability issue I was seeing was inherent in the 410/ANT+ protocol.

This app works perfectly for my 910xt. After my pc recently died I was struggling to find a way to upload my data to Connect & Strava but this app came to the rescue! From what I can gather Carlo is an independent developer and has done a great job with this app. I have seen some people complaining on here about the trial version but surely he made this available so you can check if you like it! You paid a fortune for your watch now stop being a tight arse and throw the man a few £€$!!

When this app works is great but that doesn't happen much. Gets stuck on getting serial number. Why is this so? What serial number and why does it need to get it over and over again? This app is not cheap and is so not worth it on its current performance. Yawn. Zzzzzzzz

I give you a 1* just from reading your response to your reviews. The 1* isn't for your app is for your customer service skills.

Works well for my Edge 800 files. Shame that Marshmallow stops the app accessing the files on the device directly, but the dev pointed me to a usable workaround which is fine. Extra * if we get an even slicker workaround for Google's obstacles

Approach with caution with Garmin Swim. Not recommended. I wanted to upload some files from my Garmin Swim to Garmin Connect using a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (built in ANT+). Using the 'Force ANT+" option in the app, I managed to get it find my watch and sync 36 activities, from the watch onto the phone, 2 of which were not yet on Garmin Connect. It took a few aborted attempts and restarts before I got all the files transferred, despite the phone and watch sitting within a few inches of each other on my kitchen bench (normally transfer from watch to the ANT+ USB stick is flawless). I can browse the activities on the phone, but I could already do on the watch anyway. There appears to be no way to get them from the phone onto Garmin Connect in the trial version. But worse - now going back to my ANT+ stick on the computer, it cannot find the new swim files. Hence I've lost two sessions. It seems the trial version is pretty much useless, and now I cannot access the files through my regular method. Needless to say this app is going to be deleted from my phone.

Connection with ant+ stick via usb worked fine, and upload to Garmin Connect worked flawlessly after I sorted out a password issue with Connect (not the fault of the developer, who was super fast to reply). On Android 7, Nexus P

Typical of Garmin not to include this functionality natively in their own app. Luckily great devs bring us apps like this to do what the Garmin should have done in the first place.

Why Garmin didn't do this is nuts. I've been using this app for a year and it works perfectly. I do have to turn off my location and go into Airplane mode but it uploads perfectly to Garmin Connect and Strava.
