Cardo SmartSet for Android
After the last update, the app crashes flawlessly, works zilch. Went back and reinstalled, it works fine for now with intermittent crashes. Scala could do better with a genuine update. After The latest update on the packtalk the 3 speed dials dont get saved. I mean the names refuse to show in the app screen. The latest update of packtalk has serious compatibility issues with the cardo (not-so) smart app.
No point having hot dial in this app. As any ways you may call directly since u are already using the phone to access this app. Rather a short cut through q1 Devices for making these calls would make more sense.
Frustrating device, saved by the app. Would be good if it also included how to use the features. Such as "VOX SENSITIVITY"... Never actually been able to use this feature.
The cardo packtalk is the most frustrating technology I have ever bought in my life. I seriously want to smash this thing with a bloody hammer. I want to burst a vain in my heaf every single day I try to use it with other riders.
I cannot get the app to connect to my q3. App needs work!!
Good app. I hope that you will add to the menu button "power off" or "shut down" to turn off the connected device to my phone. I really miss this
Once set up and working well, it's lovely.most reviews who complain about connectivity shouldn't blame the app as you don't need the app to use the Bluetooth unit. This app is useful to change settings etc. without going through the spoken menu to change settings.
If you are having problems getting your device connected to the app here is a solution i found at another site that worked for me... by kkphoto on 2016/10/20 01:14 You only have to go through this silly procedure once. . Here are the steps to connect the app: 1) In bluetooth settings, pair your headset with your phone. (Make sure to put your headset in to pairing mode as per the instructions. 2) When you have successfully paired in bluetooth, switch to the app. It will probably say "connecting..." and not be successful. 3) Delete the app. Yes, delete it. 4) Go to your bluetooth settings and "Forget" the device. 5) Re-download and install the app again. 6) Go to bluetooth settings and reconnect to the headset (you shouldn't have to pair it, just connect) 7) Open the Cardo app again and now it should recognize your headset. Sounds crazy, but I've had 4 friends who couldn't connect and we used these steps and they were successful Another step i took was to make sure i did not have my phone connected to any other device at the time I.E. Gear 3
Very slow to respond, Not exactly user friendly if you need to use whilst riding as the connection keeps dropping. Scala cutting edge?? Interphone looks better by the day
It tells me my CARDO scalarider Q3 is a non-cardo unit. How can Cardo not even recognise a cardo unit?
G9 is connected to my phone but app does not recognise it, all options greyed out, just using up 32Mb of ram for nothing
This app has a serious problem with connecting. If you finally get it connected amd dont breathe it works great
Does not setect unit, followed the almoat none existant list of troubleshooting steps which didnt work plus tried on another device but still says that my headset is not connectex, thankfully the bluetooth works without it
Sorry to hear of all the riders having trouble with this app and devices. It's working well with my galaxy s7 and G9. I Did download the manual to my phone for my G9 as it is not easy to manage without it.
The apps crashed and restart often, Packtalk bluetooth intercom channel B not functioning well. Lastly can't pair with other brand bluetooth intercom device like sena 20s.
Good surprise. Manipulating the device directly was a nightmare. Using the app is really helpful to use all functionalities.
Worked well on iOS however Q3 will not connect to android app on Samsung galaxy 7 edge. Frustrating.
This device is not supported for call number or name in the head set
Good little app, does what it says on the tin, a must have for any Scala Rider owner.
Scala seem to be experts in making the most frustrating things one can find. I hope to get it working sometime soon. Fingers crossed. Using the app with PackTalk.
It works without problems. I have a Cardo Scala Q1 teamset and my phone is a Nexus 6P. Would be fine more radio stations available and mp3 through Bluetooth.
An application running in the background after a while loses connection to the receiver.
It does not always connected to shuberth c3 pro.
Not compatible with the Q1 and Huawei p9 plus
Not sure yet about it. Walki-talki apps work great world wide across any platform as long as there is a cell tower.
Clunky but does the job so far
Mostly works, GUI a bit broken.
Works okay... Bt connectivity sometimes wonky.
UI real tacky and hard to understand
Better than last year . It didn't work unless I turned off my phone..
The app works great on my samsung galaxy S5. It let's me program my Q3 with ease.
It works well. I just started using this with my Q3's it does what I need it to.
So hard too use
Works very well with my samsung galaxy S8 cellphone
One of the best investment since starting riding
Doesnt support my unit.
Was good until last update
Cracking but of kit highly recommended
Use it daily for my commute to listen to the radio and use the phone. Works great. People on the phone don't believe me when I tell them that i'm on a bike. No background noise or anything. I rate 5 stars based on that. Never tried the pack talk. Only really bad point is that you cannot set up the device from your mobile or even from a Mac. Could not even use my business laptop as you are required to install/download something. Is there no way to make that more user friendly like plug and play?

I'm not the biggest fan to be honest. But I feel the app does well enough. I am however really hoping for some improvement in the future both in operating speed and not being so touchy. Anytime I make a change in the unit the app takes forever to reconnect. Also voice commands are lacking.
