HRV Expert by CardioMood for Android
Pro version very buggy. Won't start reading when start reading button pressed, recording time menu greyed out. App doesn't close and terminate when exiting. States resident and takes up cpu/memory.
Very comprehensive
Latest update forces you to login, except wont accept credentials. Drove 2 hours and can't use the app when I need it. Criminally dumb update really.
It was great until my Galaxy Note 4 upgraded to Android 6.0 1. Now the connection with my polar H7 drops off every few seconds then reconnects. I have tested the band with a friend's phone running Android 5 and it is still perfect. Emailed developer weeks ago but I suspect they have died.

Once again AT&T pushed an update (Android 6) that broke functionality of important apps such as this. I feel sorry for developers trying to keep up and most just give up. Hopefully there is a way to get this app working with the Polar H7 on Android 6 or I guess I'll have to buy another phone that AT&T can't push updates to.
Every other app works except for this one. I've been trying for a few days and now it's too late to request a refund. No place to contact the developer.
Updated, app has never worked, I had the paid version, I finally got response from the developer who tells be this app won't work with moto 360 (nothing in the description which is bad considering it's a popular watch). Anyway, asked developer why this isn't in the description and his response was "why didn't you try the free one first!" rather than loose my cool, I requested a refund... That was 3 weeks ago and nothing but radio silence! Going to report it to google next.
Best app I tried for a polar H7 chest strap. Included charts are fascinating and most importantly you can export all data (the "R-R intervals" from the device) in a nicely formatted text file. Toggle the Bluetooth off and on if you have any trouble connecting-- sometimes the device shows up, but if you've recently used it from another app you cannot connect.
I have problem connecting my device to the app. I am using Polar H7 device to measure cardio values. When I try connect to the aplication it has vision of my device but wont connect. So I keep pressing connect button over and over again.
Works perfectly with my Wahoo tickr. Monitor stress easily with lf/hf. Fan of all the extra graphs and plots too. Good app
Worst app,, cannot try before but and doesn't measure any hear rates, bad buy
Cannot understand why session limited to 1 min. The note says insufficient for stress measuring. Would give it 5 stars otherwise.
i can export the rr interval data and analyze them again to kubios. big thank you for you
I really like this app. It has the widest variety of statistics that I have found - including the very important spectral analysis to allow for finding your optimal HRV breath rate. I have tested it's accuracy by using it simultaneously with PC-based system the two are very close. Not 5 stars yet because I would like to be able to upload the data to Kubios and I would like it to wait to start recording until after I have settled into my resting position to avoid extreme readings due to motion.
A lot of detailed analysis with possibility to save raw data as well. The only thing missing is the possibility to chart the daily changes of HRV. This would make it priceless.
Having tried all of the other options available this is the most comprehensive HRV app and the only one I could get to work that provides a graph of the spectrum which is nice to see. I'm interested in learning about the post-processing values and will research them myself but it would still be nice to have a brief explanation on each parameters known significance.
without the forced registration and auto uploading of everything instantly. It shouldn't be possible to force a registration and data upload just to try an app. Give 3 recording sessions, and then ask for a registration. That would be acceptable. The app itself is best in class, and I've tried them ALL.
New update fixed. Thanks. The best hrv metrics.
This is the best HRV app I have used so far. I use quite a few.

It would be nice be able to export the data in the web service to ASCII, csv or similar
Very informative and easy to use app. Only mising basic analysis of personal trends in HVR. Otherwise highly recommended.
My original review gave this app one star because it would not work with my new chest strap. I have since found out that most chest straps do not support HRV testing - including my new Arendo one. This app is probably fine, but just make sure you buy the right chest strap first.
Best HRV app I have tried so far and I have tried/bought most on the android market. Support has also been very helpful
I'm really enjoying the use of this app. Looking forward to updates that show trending, explanations of data ect.
best one I've tried. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but after trying out most of the HRV apps on the play store, the feature to export raw R-R values to further analyze it using other apps such as Kubios HRV alone would make this app much more valuable than the rest, including the vastly more expensive ithlete.
I have an app for my ipad that takes the HRV measurements I want from my Zephyr Smart HxM chest strap heart monitor, but have been struggling through over a dozen apps looking for one that would work on Android. Many Android HRV apps are not BLE compatible, but this one is, and it shows all the analytic I want (e.g. frequency domain) plus more (e.g. the elliptical view). I hope this app gets lots of downloads and the developer keeps it up to date, so I went and wrote this review :)

The app is pretty good on pre-Nougat devices. But the thing that lets this app down is the almost complete lack of support. That would not be good for the free version but it is wholly unacceptable for the paid version, which is quite expensive. I've been waiting for several weeks for a reply to a question I raised concerning Android Nougat (in)compatibility. Disappointing.
