Carbonite Mobile

This app is completely unpredictable. One minute it works fine and then it loses connection with network even when I am on a trusted and tested wifi. Tried logging in and out and no can do since it is still searching for a network. Shopping around now for an alternative service.

Still...Always "fails to get full resolution image" after browsing through a few file folders. I believe this is intentional by carbonite due to some bandwidth throttling limit. Same across all of my mobile devices and when I sign in on my PC...extremely frustrating ...I have been paying for this for years and am a loyal customer...please fix this?

In addition to backing up all files it enables the user to download from cyberspace a file that was created on another device. Very useful when away from the laptop at home to be able to download into a tablet a file that was created on the laptop. Or to download into the laptop a file created on a tablet.

It sucks all your battery life

Seems to be working much better now. More stable. But when it waits for WiFi it drains the battery.

Can't remove it.

This app has gone to hell in a hand basket... It won't upload my photos or videos, constantly says backup failed, try again in X minutes. Every time I try to access my account I have to log in then it takes me back to the main screen, rinse and repeat. I pay a butt ton of money for this service, I think you can afford to pay a decent app developer to get this app back in line...

When using on new Samsung galaxy  S5 tmobile with latest firmware and selecting bacup I get error Error unknown null. Please address asap as I am a Carbonite subscriber. I had an updated same version before without that error

This app used to work just fine but now suddenly it is constantly restarting and isn't backing up. I thought about deleting and reinstalling it but it won't even let me do that. Please fix it!

Keeps asking me for login credentials but still works half the time regardless. Reinstalled a couple of times. Am uninstalling just to get rid of the never ending popups to sign back in.

Once backed up very difficult to download your saved files from the web. The web interface is not user friendly and doesn't provide useful features. I do not recommend using this product to backup your photos as it has resulted in a ton of lost time for me. The customer service was basically like good luck...

There is almost 1 year now since i am waiting for an update to make this app work on marshmallow. I am a customer for my laptop but lost all functionality when my phone was upgraded. I wish i coyld have my money back.

It was great but it no longer backups files. It now keeps saying backup failed retrying in ... minutes and never does. Another thing I would like to have seen is a delete option some photos like memes downloaded and screenshots I don't need and don't have the option to delete. I'm not sure why I don't have the option but I don't.

After latest update, app won't work. Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Now I can't even get app to open after I sign on. Error "null . . . " Come on, Carbonite! You are such a better company than this. Please fix the app. I need it! You get 5 stars one it is fixed.

This app is more like a virus. I have uninstalled it 6 times and a week or so later it is back. It also has a setting to only back up when connected to WiFi to reduce data charges on your phone. Trouble is it continuously tries to connect to a WiFi that isn't there and kills your battery life. Never again with Carbonite. Looking for a competing company to change to...

The app works, but is painful to use. The UI is so slow and antiquated. Pics take forever to load. Please update the app to make it smooth and easy. Copy Google photos!

I understand Carbonite's core business is PC oriented. However, as a consumer product in this era, if you can't get mobile support right, you alienate a Huge customer base. This app hasn't been updated for a year; not for lack of problems judging by posts. By most accounts it appears the Co. is backing away from mobile altogether (despite their advertising). Perhaps they're more focused on supporting their business customers? For now, I'll be shopping for a more complete, consumer-friendly backup solution.

I haven't been able to access my files via my cell phone for a long time. I am unable to get adequate support from Carbonite to fix this problem.

Have used Carbonite for my computer for years and relatively happy, although never had to rely on it seriously. Was hoping to use the mobile app for photos and videos. Constantly tries but does not backup. Think I'll get rid of this from mobile and computer and go back to Ms Onedrive and pay for that instead. Have wasted hours on this. Support slow and tedious. Don't bother.

The app used to work well, but this latest update will not open on my phone at all. It is useless on my phone now. Please update the app soon.

This was a very good app. I used it for a few years. Then, all of a sudden, it just stopped working - period. Removed from phone as it is useless

It looks as though a lot of people have had the same problem as I have been having...the app no longer updates my mobile device. Why isn't this issue being addressed?

Keeps trying to do a backup and fails constantly. Can't get it uninstalled. Draining my battery. I want rid of this app NOW!?

Doesn't complete backups. 3 Photos take hours to upload. Kills battery.

As pointed out by several others, your mobile app is no longer functioning in any useful way. It forces me to log in frequently and even when I do that, I often get messages about no network connection. This occurs while other Internet based apps work just fine. My subscription expires in March and I'll be looking for a new service if these issues are not addressed soon.

Used to be a good app. I appreciated having it to go along with the computer program which I pay for. Doesn't work anymore. Can't uninstall/reinstall to try to fix. Dead in the water.

Hardcore mode is now ridiculously hard! My people are dying so fast I'm going to have an empty vault soon.

I like the way Carbonite just backs up without my having to intervene. It reports and let's me know threat levels of my apps.

Loved this app and service for 4 years. But stopped working 2 weeks ago after latest android / cyanogen update.

If you want to see your latest back up, you have to go into the app manager on your phone and clear the cache and data for the carbonite app. Ridiculous !

Shows you what is backed up but only let's you recover one file at a time. When I pushed customer support why there was not an easy way to restore stuff lost, I was told the app was free. Nice. I guess they forgot you actually have to pay for the service from a computer to get backup.

This app has been awful from the get-go. It would never log in properly. After clicking Login with the correct credentials, the screen just flashes several times and then brings me right back to the login screen. One constant loop of unsuccessful logins, but there's no error - nothing to suggest anything is wrong - it just reloads the screen with an empty username and password field. Drove myself insane trying the same thing over and over again, in between dozens of uninstall and reinstalls. At one point it was working, somewhat, in and around the inconveniences of the app when it is actually working. After working for a little while, it stopped working and went right back to its signature 'reload the page instead of logging in'. Not impressed with Carbonite. Its pricepoint makes sense now.

Hard to tell if this app is worth my time or not. Like others have pointed out - it keeps starting backups and then failing. Then it will retry - some backups then work, but often it just fails again. Desktop service is great, but this mobile version leaves a lot to be desired. I'll give it another day. If no improvement, I will uninstall. Update: (24 hours later) - and so, once the initial backup completes, the failures stop. Each new photo uploads almost instantly. However, this made me question the practicality of this app. On Android devices, Google's "Photos" backs up and stores all photos and videos automatically anyway. So, why should I install YET ANOTHER app that is doing something that my phone's native OS does in the first place? Perhaps if this app backed up more than just photos and videos, my opinion would be different. But cluttering my Android devices with redundant applications simply for photos and videos is illogical to me. Don't get me wrong - I love Carbonite for PC! But, sorry guys - this mobile app is pointless, save for having the ability to access my backed up PC files on my mobile devices.

This app used to work just fine. Now I can't access my devices through it. It keeps telling me "Forbidden" and sending me back to log in. My phone and my tablet are both affected with this problem and the problem of failing backups. Please fix.

Doesn't work most of thr time. If I wipe my phone and reinstall software it shows up as a new device. Very poorly written app with no improvement over the last year.

It worked fine for over 6 months but now it keeps trying to restart while backing up. Please fix!

I used to be a fan of carbonite but not sure what is going on, it just does not work anymore. Whenever i try to access my backup it says Forbidden. I feel like Adam in Garden of Eden.
