This app is no longer working on my Samsung devices whereas it did in the past. My CamRanger wireless device is able to connect to my Samsung devices but when I run the CamRanger app it freezes, only showing a CamRanger screen and nothing else. I need this fixed.

I used to love this app and more importantly the expensive camranger unit however it no longer functions after the last upgrade. Come on Camranger sort it out please.

Awesome!!!
REMOTE
Faster trans speed, hate The image delay.
It has serious connectivity issues. App is not connecting anymore with nexus 6. This was working in my nexus 6 in the past version. Today I went to field without checking whether the stupid app works but it messed up my plans for timelapse. Note that the device is working perfectly fine with my iPad air, my old HTC one android smart phone. It is the issue with stupid app.
Had a dead iPad and tried using the app on my phone but it just gets to a black screen that says Camranger but won't do anything. I love this thing when it works but not working on my phone was a real bummer. :(
Been using it for years...I use it a LOT
You need to understand that this is a free support app provided for the use of photographers who already own a CamRanger, purchased separately. This is not a free app to operate any camera. It is to operate a piece of hardware if you choose to operate it with an Android device.
Overall the app is excellent and works great. My only complaint is there isn't any way to submit wanted enhancements. When you set it to bulb mode and set the timer, there is no countdown timer so you have no idea how long you have remaining. Also the focus stacking is a little painful since you have to just guess at the settings and may have to do multiple tries. Would be better to set start and end focus and number of shots and it determines focus steps.
App Crash
Currently does not support Android 6.0, it crashed during start up. looking forward to an update to fix the issue.
YOU MUST BUY A PHYSICAL PRODUCT CALLED CAMRANGER TO USE THIS APP!! TOTAL GARBAGE!! I DON'T WANT YOUR PIECE OF JUNK HARDWARE, I ALREADY HAVE A DSLR, STUPID!!!
Use this all the time with my D810
I wished it had a further Wi-Fi working distance. Signal is not strong enough at college baseball stadium to transmit to elevated pressbox (30 feet behind home plate) from either 1st base or 3rd base side. Must be clear line of sight to work. When within range, it works great. Next month, I'll be testing it inside a sports arena to find out how well it will work.
I am using the Camranger on two different Nikon cameras. The range/distance is not even close to what is stated. Wi Fi drops in and out so much pretty much renders the device useless. Not impressed with the hardware. On the other hand the interface I like very much .
CamRanger is a really cool and useful gadget. I use it with the camera on s tripod. Unfortunately, the UI is very outdated. Should get a Material Design update, as well as support for Google Drive. Easier setup and stability of connection could use some love, too.
It will be a great app if it work, I almost considered a waste of money and effort, most of time is frustrating
I use the CamRanger for quite a few different applications. I like it so much I have two units. I also have the pan/tilt head that is optional. One of my favorite uses for the CamRanger is Pole Arial Photography. I use my Android phone or iPad to operate all the available options. It's also a great way to transfer a pic to my iPad when there's no WiFi available.
I give it 4 stars because when it works, it's indispensable. This recent update made it literally unusable though. Crashes after every shot or two. PLEASE FIX! I need this to work in my professional setting.
Incredible camera control
For all the idiots complaining about the serial number being needed, do some research before commenting. This is a free app for a physical device which you need to purchase. It has worked near flawlessly on multiple devices and cameras. If it has trouble connecting look at what other wifi devices are near and make sure it's on a seperate channel. Easy fix.
Use it with a Asus fonepad 8 FE380 Series (Android 4.4.2) in client mode today doing a fashion shoot outdoor. The camera use is a nikon D800, with image quality set to RAW and jpeg Small. The download will suddenly become super slow and the client was unable to view. Ended have to restart the application each time. Also the application sometime will stop working on its own. But when i reach home and tested it again the download was back to normal. However any rapid shooting will cause it to hang. Desperate need a version that support Sony E mount system. Because that is the next camera for me.
For those looking for a serial number...... Buy a camranger wi-fi device. That is what this app is for. Not for your scrooge enjoyment
Excellent control for my cannon digital camera....this is for adrian...you have to have the cam ranger to hook up to your camera first.....and it has the serial number. Know what your talking about before you open your mouth.....less chance of puting your foot in it.
Not a free app - they ask for a serial number. They should mention this before but it seems that they have no problem in wasting other people's time.
Not free!
The CamRanger app has potential, but falls short due to constant episodes of "connection lost". DO NOT use this app for a professional shoot, unless it is for perhaps a real estate shoot, where you can 'do over'. I have had episodes of lose, connect, lose, connect, a cycle that continues until the app is restarted. When it maintains connection it is great to shoot tethered without the usb cable. The CamRanger Share app is also prone to episodes of connection lost. When it maintains "connection", it is very useful!
Free app requires serial number wtf
why serial number?
Continually disconnects then has problem reconnecting

The product itself is ok but the interface and set up for work flow is poor. You need to run different apps on your pc to configure it and they dont work. They crash are buggy and blocked by FIrewalls. Dont even think about connecting the device to another wifi network. You can only use it if you can connect to its wifi network which means you can comnect your smart device to the internet at the same time. Why you can't connect directly via a web browser to configure it is beyond me
