BirdieSync for Thunderbird for Android

After having looked in vain for so many years for a replacement to the great Palm Desktop and its excellent sync conduit, I can now rely on an extremely efficient toolkit made of Thunderbird-Lightning, BirdieSync and DigiCal+ to effectively manage my time !!! A small piece of advice for all users: be aware that Android Calendar and its appendices like DigiCal do not allow to set 'Custom' recurring events while Lightning does so that such events should be synced 'From PC...' and not 'Both ways'.
Wonderfull
It works as it should, set up was OK but some will struggle with it. Unfortunately this part is free, the pc part is free for a short time, but then it's going to cost you an annual subscription fee that is not cheap!!! OK to sync a new device but really not worth the fee for longterm use.
Love this new version! Sure, there's a learning curve for an all-new design and interface, and once you get the hang of it, it's more than worth it. I now have the contacts and events on my Android phone, tablet, and Thunderbird on my two PCs all synchronized with each other. Couldn't be better.
Great program. However, it is syncing everytime I hangup a phone call and everytime I send a text. I only sync calendar and contacts. Why is it syncing so often when I have it set to do so only every 4 hours? I believe this is also killing battery life.
Nice
Good. Allows me to sync my Thunderbird address book with my Android contacts without Google getting them. Requires no excess permissions. Worth the money.

Superb...
This app works well with one computer and one portable android device but does NOT work with two computers in the mix. There seems to be conflict and instability. I wrote off the twenty bucks as a waste of money. Google calendar runs and syncs flawless for free.
Thunderbird on Linux is not supported.
This app is apiece of *****.
Wonderfull
Wireless connection to sync between your Android device and your PC. How cool is that? (btw, the answer is: Very Cool) :-)

After a lot of frustration, birdie is now synching my desktop Thunderbird/Lightning calendar with my HTC android calendar. Third party calendar apps on the phone seem to synch every once ina while, but not consistently. So I won't uninstall yet.

I've been using BirdieSync for years, initially on Windows Mobile 6 and now Android. It works like a dream, and if there ever are any issues Birdies support is superb. Highly recommended.
Requires $20 to actually use it with your PC.
I searched very long to sync my different cals (work, private, birthdays) without gifting my data to google, microsoft or apple. Finally I found that Birdiesync can solve all my problems. Had some trouble with the setup because I didnt follow the installation instruction 1 by 1. Support helped me out immediately. Now I sync two cals, the birthdays (from thunderbirthday addon) plus my contacts with TB. Seamlessly. I can even sync in parallel an additional google cal of my Univ. Thank you for this great app!
Sync setup was a little cumbersome, especially requiring user to specify location of Thunderbird executable on desktop. The worst thing was ending up with hundreds of (No title) calendar events. A real shame, since it seems like the app is otherwise an excellent piece of work.
Used it to sync a Droid Razr with Thunderbird. It did work for a bit, but then my Windows 7 64bt computer would just lock up. Fortunately I set a system restore point before I installed. Rolled back to pre-BirdieSync and my computer was fine. Downloaded MyPhone Explorer (which is donation based) and that one works great for me.
End of trial and now got multiple duplicates of contacts (over 5,000 of them).
Fast and knowledgeable support. More flexible and accurate syncing than using your Google account. And better privacy protection since no online access required.
This is what I've been looking for! Syncs thunderbird with my phone and NO "cloud" is involved. -1 star for cost, but it is the only app out there.
Used it with wondoze phone and android. Always works

I've used BirdieSync since I still had my Windows phone. I only bought an Android phone when BirdieSync announced they're working on synchronization with Android and I went for a Motorola Defy. Motoblur makes synchronization an almost impossible task. The own software of Motorola manages to lose birthday dates and photos of contacts. The people at BirdieSync made everything possible for the synchronization work perfectly. Their support is simply great. If you didn't use the software yet just go for it.
Excellent add-on, essential if you want to switch from Outlook to Thunderbird. Also great customer service an keeps up-to-date with TBird development.
Great little utilty
Brilliant app... but they neglect to mention that it'll cost you $20 to use after 20 days. I'm not that lazy yet... Uninstalled.
Excellent, though a bit pricy. Would give 5 stars if it supported TB on linux.
Urrgg, works only with Windows since the corresponding desktop application is a binary program for Windows.
Please implement connection to Android over USB.
Crashes when rotating the phone 90 degrees.HTC desire
