About Do Not Disturb

If you forget to silence your phone and calls ring or notifications sound during important meetings or wakes you up at night, then this Do Not Disturb app (DND) is for you. Enable Calendar and Night mode, and forget about having to play with volume controls to silence your phone.

* See the AllAboutAndroid TwitTV review our app https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpsA4eich6c&feature=youtu.be

Several features set this app apart from others in the category. This application was written with security in mind. As such, it requires just a few permissions to read user's contacts, calendar and to send and receive SMS. Most other apps require network permissions, and some need access to SD storage, which allows them to transfer any of the personal data from the phone unnoticed. This app can't do that, so you can rest assured that your personal data is safe.

This app offers a lot more than Do Not Disturb Mode on the iPhone or Samsung’s Blocking Mode:

* It can keep the phone silent during office hours, meetings or calendar appointments, and for the night
* It can keep the phone silent & vibrate all day and go completely silent for the night
* It mutes phone calls and all audible notifications during quiet time, except alarms
* Instant mute timer can be started with just 1 click, unmuted automatically when timer expires
* Day and night time schedule can be programmed separately for each day of the week
* Calendar selection is configurable, and only Busy events are silenced
* Supported calendars include Google calendars, Exchange
* SMS and call exceptions are supported while the phone is silenced (during Trial period)
* You can allow separate whitelist groups of contacts to ring at night and/or during the day
* Enable Emergency mode to let repeated calls from the same number ring
* Use No Exceptions mode to block calls from allowed contacts for the duration of an important meeting
* Use Respond via SMS to let the caller know to call back again if it's urgent
* Optionally disable Bluetooth handsfree during quiet time
* Cancel silent mode when you wake up early or the meeting ends early
* Start muting a few minutes early for meetings on the calendar

This free version of Do Not Disturb app includes no ads. If you like this app, you can support it by buying the premium version. Otherwise the following premium features will expire after 2 weeks:

* Whitelist support
* SMS auto-response
* Calendar selection
* Early cancel & early mute support

Certain Samsung phones have issues with vibrate mode. If your phone doesn't vibrate when you enable vibration in this Do Not Disturb app, change vibration settings in your phone's system settings/sounds menu.

Please don't block this app's notifications on your phone, it can cause the app to not work correctly. Also note that if you have a task killer/booster type of app installed on your device, add this Do Not Disturb app to the list of exceptions. Finally, make sure you don't have other apps that manipulate the speaker running at the same time.

I must say that after using multiple phone profiles and giving up on them because they changed so much or needed the phone to be rooted, I was kinda skeptical about giving this app a try. It does exactly what I need it to do without much fuss or to do. Silence the phone at a specific time, follow my calendar events, only allow certain people through when in night mode. Highly impressed! Please continue the awesome development of this app!

I've sat and messed with the settings for days. All I've had success doing is "muting" my phone, which I THOUGHT meant what it sounded like. NOPE. I'm not sure what the hell mute does if I still get calls and messages. Thanks for making me look like a flake on my first day... Seriously... am I freaking missing something!?

Y70%
by Y####:

This is the only app I found that turns off sounds during specific hours but leaves vibrate on. The only downside is it requires permission to read notifications for no reason. It works perfectly fine with that disabled (Galaxy S5) but the UI won't run that way. So if you're privacy conscious, you have to enable the permission, configure the app, then disable the permission.

by K####:

Great app and works great so far. Only thing I would like is for the ignore keywords to include characters also. I would like to just put a .,. behind a meeting and it should not mute. It would make it less intrusive in the meeting text when others see my calendar..

The limitations on the unpaid version can be a bit annoying. The main function of the software is one that is extremely useful but the software itself is not easy to use. And periodically the automated nature breaks down and I have to manually restart the app in order to ensure that it automatically silences my phone. And an automatic silence that doesn't work all the time is a little bit defeating the point. I have to manually remind it to work automatically. I will look for better software.

Does not play well with my phone set to vibrate, which is all the time. I'm always on vibrate, but as soon as I deactivate this app my phone goes to ringing, which I hate. And doesn't look like there's a way to fix it. Also, with the built in DND, all I have to do is tap my volume button to get DND going. This one I have to go looking for it.

G70%
by G####:

Excellent app that works very well. However, on galaxy s7, unless you tick "use priority interruptions" the built-in DND ( do not disturb) will keep switching itself on even if not set to do so in settings. Note to Dev, can you fix this in next update or is it meant to work this way??

G70%
by G####:

It does really well if you literally want it to stop any noise...but if I wanted that I would just shut my sound off at night. You have no option for alarms or a special list of people to be able to call.

H70%
by H####:

It worked for me but the trial expired and I didn't buy it. I hate that it's not a pre installed feature on my phone already. Plus, I'm a cheapo.

H70%
by H####:

Great app. Does what promise. Simple interface. One thing stops me from giving 5 stars and going to the paid version. There is a beep sound when do not disturb mode goes off (and probably on). Please advise how to configure it or make it optional.

by U####:

Downloaded this because my OP3 cannot use the native Android DND scheduling due to having a hardware slider. The app seemed to work for the first few days, but now, even though I have the "mute" icon (for day mode) all notifications still sound. Very dissapointing.

K70%
by K####:

It seems that you can only have one timeslot (or perhaps one "day" and one "night") per day, which completely ruined the app for me. I have several intermixed periods throughout the day when I need silence or need notifications (i.e. classes and the time in-between them), and this app doesn't allow that. If fixed, it might be quite useful. If this were clear, I'd give a better review, but it is unintuitive, and simply a silly restriction placed based on how it is assumed to be used (work/sleep schedule).

T70%
by T####:

Oneplus 3T here App works if you set alert slider to "ring". Can't blame anyone. It does the job (haven't tried calls yet)

K70%
by K####:

I have an LG G4 phone and had problems with it not silencing when I set it to be silenced. I tried several silencing apps, but they didn't work, either. Came across this one and I LOVE IT! It attaches to my calendar, if I want it, and it uses my appointments to turn off and then on, after the appointment. It works well with my phone! Thank you, Cabooze Software!!!

When the trial expires, it automatically removes your ability to hear calls coming in, even emergency calls. This is an unsafe situation and bad practice.

H70%
by H####:

I would have rated this app higher had there been facilities to inhibit the led notifications too. This disturbs me when I'm trying to get to sleep and a message comes in.

V70%
by V####:

Haven't silenced my phone in a while because the app does a great job of doing it. It even has a manual function for the unexpected days. It's perfect. No other app comes close...and I searched. Love it.

I have loved this app but I recently got a Google Pixel and now even though I use the app to silence my phone I am still getting calls in, like the app just isn't working. Please fix for the Pixel!

K70%
by K####:

The app doesn't reinstate the volume mode I have enabled before the do not disturb schedule starts. It goes back to a standard full volume. Using Samsung galaxy S5 with 5.0

K70%
by K####:

Not consistent. I have it set up to automatically do not disturb at night but sometimes it forgets to turn off silent mode then I end up missing important phone calls.

K70%
by K####:

I think it's great to have the scheduling options and even work with"busy" effects in calendar, but for some reason this app will force the volume to vibrate when it is "off schedule" no matter what I do.

K70%
by K####:

Only works occasionally, emailed developer got no response. Yes I will skip on the paid version. Android nugget 7.0

Upgraded to premium to allow known phone #s to ring through on silence. Great app!

C70%

This is a great app. I had an afternoon meeting and used my old app. I forgot to cancel it and missed a couple of important calls. With this app I can set it in the day to self cancel in a few hours time which is great.

K70%
by K####:

Was hoping this utility would work. At the scheduled time, the phone enters a MUTE state, as expected. However, the phone never unmutes at the specified time.

C70%

Cancel button disappeared and now to unsilence my phone I have to uninstall the app.

The schedule doesn't automatically start on next day at the start time.

G70%
by G####:

It's fine most of the time, but there are seemingly random times when the schedule doesn't work and I have to go into the app for it to kick in. (Galaxy S7 on Nougat)

K70%

OnePlus 3 doesn't have scheduled DND. It was disabled to make room for the alert slider. I am happy to report this app brings the functionality of scheduled DND back. Thanks!

It just does what I need, scheduled mute or timed mute. So I won't forget to unmute

X70%

Exactly what I was looking for. It's a bit of a pain to setup because all the android settings have to be 100%.

X70%

The app works pretty good, but one of the updates started requiring notification access which is totally unnecessary. I don't know why this was added, but I'm not comfortable giving an app access to something it doesn't need.

Keep disabling media sound in dnd time, despite option disabled in settings, unusable as Highly annoying
